Plain and simple, I do shoe reviews. Although most of my video's are Vans reviews, you can find me doing shoe reviews on anything from Ateliers Arthur's to Quicksilver's.
Hey LB, I forgot to ask, what is your opinion on Vans discontinuing the Vault line? There were so many great collabs and shoes over the years. Will you do a video on it? Cheers!
I had a video where I shared my thoughts on the transition but I ended up lagging on posting and I think it got deleted 😢 Maybe I’ll talk about it on the next OTW pickup I get..
These are great if your feet have spread out with age and abuse. If you can’t wear the standard traditional flat footed, no arch, narrow Vans then get these. These are a wide fit for Vans and that’s a godsend for me. Not Hoka comfortable but damn good for Vans.
Are they actually breathable? And i heard that the material on the toebix is stiff and digs into your foot is this true, theres one pair left i can find in my size and its like 260 aud so i need to know before i buyyy
Hello, for people who wear this shoes in the past, I need to know if they are good for daily use,I don't skate😊 I like the Vans design, I have a Vans sk8 Hi,but are not to comfortable, the shape is good for my foot,I heard the comfycush are better for confort, the popcush is similar to comfycush? With OG Vans Sk8 hi I don't have problems with the shape etc, just the insole is a little rigid, for example Jordan 4 is not a good shape for me,I returned them after 30 minutes of test, worst confort and design for a shoes. Please help I want this shoes because are on sales,I buy them at least if they have the same confort as standard Vans Sk8. PS others said you need to "break in" to be more comfortable,I am a little old and I don't have time to"break in".I want confort out of box 😊
How true to size were these? I bought some DCs that the 13s fit like an 11 and some Lakai that fit like a 12. Either my foot is npw a 14/15 (all my other shoes and boots are 13) or the plant in china been fucking up
This is the first time I’ve watched a shoe review video because I didn’t want to buy something that wasn’t going to last. Can really appreciate the detail and build from your review ~ thank you!
You don’t know what the heck your talking about. They are from the 80’s or early 90’s. The ‘piping’ is called the foxing stripe. The ‘leather’ on the insole is vinyl, and I could go on…
@LBIFBACK i was surprised that the shoe leaked when you poured water on it. ANY leather skate shoe should be able to shrug off that little bit of water. Then I realized that you don't pull the laces tight at the toe. I have an ancient pair of VANS (not SK8 Hi but like a Half-Cab) that shrug off water, even water that's a bit deep. They've been soaked lots of times, bike riding and hiking in the forest. They started leaking after many, many years when the sole began to separate from the upper. What's important is not "waterproof" but drying time and good quality leather that can withstand getting soaked. That pair of Vans lasted over ten years. But I'm not as rough on shoes as a 19 year old... 😀
Yeah definitely a bummer that they leaked. They’ve been making MTE’s like that for a while. I think they’ve gotten better with making them water resistant and even some waterproof. I have to get another MTE pair this year to see if they’ve officially fixed the issue
I thrifted a pair of these in the yellow variation (unfortunately imo the ugliest variant) and I only just now figured out what they are. Glad you made this video as now I know the original price and what the shoes looked like new. Also if you see this and you have any input, I was planning on dying the leather dark brown instead of the yellow because I don't like it. They are pretty well worn and I got them for like $5, so I wasn't sure if it would be worth reselling them for a profit. Should I or shouldn't I do that?
Nice find! Unfortunately these arnt the most desirable pair of Taka’s, but since you bought them so cheap, depending on the condition you might be able to turn a profit. I agree the yellow is probably the least appealing of the 3 colorways, but I like your idea of dying them brown, I could see that looking cool. Either way only a $5 gamble right?
