Very informative video, Sara! I am planning to travel in the second half of October this year to Porto, Madeira and Lisbon. Would you recommend traveling around that time? I wish I could travel earlier around September end but I have work commitments. I fear more rain, less greenery, shorter days around second half of October though 😪

I was here. They found this in the 1990s when they dug out the basement of the carriage museum which used to belong to a Portuguese politician or noble. The site was still being excavated when I visited.

Greetings from South Africa. Thanks for all the great ideas in your videos. We are planning a 3 month trip, January to March 2025, somewhere along the south coast but are concerned that remtal properties will not have very good heating and we will freeze. Is it normal for rental properties to have good heating?

Let me add a bit of truth to this! Portugal means--Port of the Grail! Burgundy knights started this place (thanks to St,. Bernard of Clairvaux--the Templar Saint--read his 82 sermons from the Song of Songs)) to get away from the Church!--how ironic! And really Tomar is Tamar--offspring of the Black Virgin--the Widow's daughter--Jesus and Magdalene is Notre Dame--and the Mona Lisa--notice the streams behind her shoulders and the way the wound scarf across her heart is a continuation of stream and her look is one of Rosicrucian-Regenerated-Philosopher always of God's divine center! Da Vinci Code got it wrong--the offspring must also be regenerated within one's midst or depth's in God's Image (the Grail within), His Word. (Only that which comes down goes back up . . . ) And so, those 2 circular wells you shot--one with stairs going down--is symbolic of going within your depths at X marks the spot (heart center) and there one gives his will to the Spirit (the crooked serpent that wraps around you when you become one with your other self(Know thyself) to regenerate one by balancing the wet and the dry. And the head amidst the roots happens to us all when we get on the straight and narrow and are rooted to the tree of life and Wisdom (in our midst--read Genesis in a new way--they messed up by going in their MIDST to early to those rooted trees--headsup: those trees were not in that spiritual garden BUT IN THE MIDST OF THE EARTH!) when we are initiated and regenerated - which was and is the ancient mystery--in other words as St Augustine said. 'there has only been one religion since the beginning which is combining our consciousness with the Almighty's in His?Her Image the Word which was Sophia or Mary Magdalene to the Templars. Since they knew that we reincarnate to try the wheel of divine fortune many times--have to be one to know one - in this case a Templar Teutonic Knight Well that's enough for now! Hey, want to know the truth about the American Revolutionary War? How did my country America beat the SUPER POWER England. I almost have Russell Crowe interested in playing your General Howe. taking command . us is the story of how a few questing and engrailed Templar Master Masons RC operating in America gave the world the gift of Spiritual freedom! To find use the title above - all one word , no spaces or caps then dot us.

The food, wines and people are wonderful ( until they start driving on the streets and highways). Muito obrigado for your efforts. I’m a potter in Pensacola, Florida. Sara, Great video. I am from Angola with Portuguese, Angolan and Cape Verdean ancestors and my parents introduced me to Fado as well as other types of music they listened to when they were young. The first fados I heard were sung by Amália and my immediate reaction was “ she sounds like she is singing in Arabic in some parts! “ That’s exactly how the musical notes that sound like moaning, lamenting or crying (I apologize for not knowing the proper musical term for it) that Fado singers produce sound like. I know that the information you present in this video is based on what historians are probably saying now-a-days but I simply don’t buy it. Specially knowing Portuguese/Spanish history. I am sorry, but no matter how much they will try to make people accept that the origins of fado have ties to Afro-Brazilian music and dance, it is very obvious that that there is a stronger possibility that it’s real origins are of Arabic or Northern African influence. One doesn’t even need to take a course in Portuguese history or culture to see the obvious. All one has to do is listen to the way a female Fado singer in some songs goes from one note to the other when expressing sadness and then listen to an Arabic female singer singing a song with high long musical notes, if that makes any sense, to all of the sudden see the similarities. Actually one doesn’t have to listen and compare both. Just knowing both types of music is enough to make the connection.
