If the opponent took the bishop at 2:30, there could be forced trades and Magnus will only have a knight left but the opponent still has two bishops. I wonder how Magnus would do if that happened.
Did you forget about white's bishop on f1? It would be a knight/bishop vs 2 bishop. He also explains the move order after black queen takes the bishop right after the time you gave.
It's not checkmate.He got his rook for free from check and fork of rook and king and then the opponent resigned because he would be down a full rook and it was completely winning for Magnus
I think i found the mate at 3:10 instead of Kc2 he could have just done Nf6+ forking his K and Q then if Black takes with gxf6, then gxf6+, Kh7, Rg5 (if black Nxg5, Qxg5 and he can't prevent mate), Rh8, Qe4+, Kh6, Qf5 and can't prevent mate because (Qd5, Rh5# ; Nxg5, Qxg5+, Kh7, Qh7#)
