Hello! I’m Aaron. My family nicknamed me “The Mack King!”... Lake trout for the most part here in Washington but I love ALL FISHING... I’m gonna work on getting better tech but at least there are some beautiful fish posted starting in the year 2021! I’m also a major car enthusiast! So I’ll be posting reviews and feedback from my perspective… 😊 🎣&🚗’s
@@funwithfurryfriends9258 absolutely! My younger brother needed a reliable rig and so I sold him my beloved sienna and he loves it also! Up over 190k miles now and still running like new! 💪🏽😊💯
Congratulation man, I have the same color the same Toyota sienna 2000 XLE I have 280,000 miles engine and transmission is bulletproof so this is the very honest car which never leave you on the side of the road.
@@bigboycars thank you! I appreciate the comment! 😊 And that’s awesome! It’s at 190k now and still driving like new! I’ve seen 485k miles on one of these and it was still going haha 😂
Nice find. I have an 05 with 176K on it, (Montana) bought it from the original owner. Mine is the base model, 3.3l AWD, 3rd row seats with the tow package. It's in super clean condition also, no rust, was garaged most of it's life. There are no TPMS sensors in the wheels. These models have wheel speed sensors on the hubs. You might pull the wheels and see if the wires are attached and sensors are there. I just put a new windshield in mine cost $325, had the original in it, had lots of pitting and 5 rock chips in it. I have owned mine for 5 years. You can also reset the low tire pressure sensor on it, there is a button under the dash on the left side. Putting the new tires on it may be what triggered the warning light. There are videos here on YT that will show you how to reset it, it's really easy. I would start there first. I just love mine and it does fantastic on icy roads and snow, with snow tires on it, if you get those conditions where you live. Hope you enjoy your Highlander for many years. I know a lady where I live and she had an 05, with 376k on it! Still ran great, these are known to push 400k with proper maintenance. Good to hear your up on the maintenance, your totally right about that. We have got 24 mpg during the summer on highway trips. I am also meticulous with maintenance, used to be a Chevy guy, but only own Toyota's now. Check out the Car Care Nut channel, he's a dedicated master Toyota mechanic, lot's of knowledge there. 👍
@@DJ-kh8if thank you so much for the comment and feedback! Really my family for years have been telling me to do something with my experiences with vehicles and such… I’m kind of the guy for my nephew and nieces, gone with my sister and brother and friends as well… I’m not a certified mechanic but am pretty open to most diy things… so I’ve been doing some videos on cars and lots on fishing and came up with my name simply because that’s what I do mostly lol 😂 seriously appreciate you taking the time for that awesome comment! You’re awesome and from the sounds of it have an awesome rig as well! 💯 the smoothness of my highlander and the power delivery are so so incredible! Blows me away it’s 20 years old! But I’m sure you know that as well! 😊
@@FishingAndCars Yes for sure, evertime I get in it I can't believe it's 20 years old. That's why I stick with Toyotas now. I've owned lots of GM cars and trucks and always had to work on them fixing something. I'm like you a dyi guy. You Tube helps a lot when needing to fix things 😁. I think that's great what your doing, keep it up and your videos are great too. Hopefully you'll start getting more attention. Let me know if that tire reset work. 👍
@@DJ-kh8if I appreciate the kind words lots! Thank you! 😊… I have reset it and it comes right back… I’ll look into the hub sensors more! I had a 2000 Toyota Sienna that I sold to my brother for his family and the back wheel sensors fell off so i used a gorilla epoxy to glue them back on and the tire light went away… it worked and is still working a year later! lol… I did that as replacement was expensive and I read success stories on forums. I’m also wondering if I can delete the tire light like you can on a 2004 4Runner. Under the glove box if you splice two wires together it permanently disables tire light… I may look into that as well
@@Villor_ I’m certainly not a professional at this! I only use my phone! And protecting the privacy of others and their vehicles is why I add the blurs. I do think RU-vid could make the blurs less annoying but it is what it is. Hopefully you can understand the attempt of being courteous of others… Thank you for the feedback though! 😊
Wow! That’s awesome! I wouldn’t care about dents as long as unibody is straight who cares?!? That should have so soooo much life ahead of it! And to think you could have spent $26,500 on a newer car… hard pass for me lol but I would have picked that up too if it was near me so great find! 💯😂😊
Yeah you can buy lots of gas and maintenance and repairs(IF needed) for that difference and quite honestly even Toyota isn’t making things like they did with the newest stuff IMO… My brother still has his matrix almost 300k miles on it, runs perfect and surprisingly doesn’t leak a drop of anything… great little cars!!! 😊
Nice, I got 1999 Sienna ce with 270k miles I love it. I got it for free too, no cap. it’s been up down the west coast and eastern Wa, Idaho I heard they go up to 500k mi it’s all about maintenance
i just got a 98 sienna with 200k when my forrester cvt started dying. got a cross country move soon ill be using the sienna for. im the 3rd owner, all services were done with records. drive like a dream. mine is the xle w/ towing package but no hitch and never towed. i think the factory towing package comes with a bigger transmission cooler and helps keep that transmission in great shape especially when not towing.
That’s right! Mine has a cooler as well but no hitch was even bolted up although one can be! I’m up to almost 187k in mine and it’s literally like driving a new van lol! I’m happy for you! Thank you for the comment! 💯😊
Doesn't get good gas mileage :/ OMG it's filthy and had so much wrong with it. Have a Ford much older than that so you know it is going to start. Not sure what's so great about it.
Hey thanks for the comment! You got to have one to appreciate! We love AWD at 28 miles per gallon, we love 300,000 miles and climbing on the original motor and transmission, original gear boxes, even bearings on this gem… and we love that we could floor this(wide open throttle) 100+ straight times from a dead stop up to freeway speeds with zero issues, as if it’s driven off the lot for the first time! Those are just a handful of things, and out of all my fords, and other makes honestly, I have never had that confidence! And my brother and myself love that we paid $2000 for it! Lol 😂
@@FishingAndCars Well when you've always had cars that got over 30mpg except for one an SUV built on a truck chassis that could do truck things and could plow through 3 feet of snow, it really spoils you.
Oh man yeah that’s pretty spoiling! 😊 I love these matrix’s but anything over a foot of snow is sketchy a bit as it just doesn’t have the clearance, for what it is as a whole it’s great! Part of me having over 100 different cars in my lifetime is appreciating almost all of them for the things they bring to the table! I’m a bigger guy, an s10 for example is a really small truck to sit in, a ford ranger is also a small truck but I had all the room in the world it felt like sitting in it! And it had cruise! I loved that little ranger lol… there’s lots of pros to most vehicles! I’m having a hard time really getting into the brand new ones, I just don’t think they are worth the money and will hold up as the older ones have…
Best built cars period. I just bought a cream puff 06 corolla sedan 195,000 kms. Drives like brand new. Literally like a mini Lexus. You’d have to pry it out of my cold deceased hands ❤
To this very moment, thousands more miles, runs, shifts great… my brother-in-law certainly cares lol… I appreciate the comment always 💯 from anyone and everyone! 😊
I actually agree with you! I’m a big fan of the price tag also! I would definitely strongly consider owning the 2nd generation MDX model 😊 thank you for the comment!
The car literally has the badge 4WD but I do understand it’s not a truck with a 4x4 transfer case with 4hi and 4lo, ect… That said, all 4 wheels spin and in 2005 there was way less electronics slowing them down from turning in slippery conditions… appreciate the comment though! You’re technically right! Lol 😊
In my opinion, yes! The 4WD/AWD option and the rear hatch makes this Matrix a really unique car! In terms of reliability though they both are phenomenal lol 😊
Typically the first go to for problems is a new o2 sensor, I’ve even replaced cats before only to still have code after… if it doesn’t effect running condition, and you don’t have to worry about emissions… me personally, I would live with it! 😊 Thank you for your comment!
Bought my 2003 at 140,000 km 10 years ago and now at 253,000 km. Best van ever made. Edge of wheel wells are rusting through after 20 years but we use salt on our roads in winter. Good luck with yours.
That’s awesome! Great story there for sure! And I couldn’t agree more! For the money, it is absolutely the best van ever made! Thank you for your comment! 😊
I have an 2006 Sienna I picked up for $100 when the customer didn’t want to fix it. The vans are awesome I’ve enjoyed it so far. 92,000 miles 3.3 engine
What a complete find and great deal! I’ve owned a second generation Sienna as well! Siennas in general are the best way to go for minivans! I love these things! 😊
Thank you Noah! My oldest son and you have the same name! I appreciate the comment! Thank you! The advice I have for landing the biggest fish is something I’m sure you already know! The more time you spend out there, the better the chance at that monster! Good luck out there! 🎣🍀😊
Thank you for the comment! 😊 It’s been driven daily for the last few months and has been solid! I’m sure it has a lot left in it! 💯 Definitely a cool car to drive!
@@FishingAndCarsIm in canada and winters here now with all the snow and water on the road would you say its a good winter car for ploughing through? IK the BHP is about 130. Thx
@@marksuche7135 We are from Eastern Washington and we absolutely have some snowy times! We just experienced 4-6 inches of slush and with those studded winter aggressive tires it went everywhere pretty easily! You do float a tiny because your light but it bogged through it! That was last week! 😊 if there’s upwards of a foot of snow I’d imagine it could get high centered in extreme cases. Haven’t had that experience with it yet though!
He paid 26,500(no trade in) and it was in Portland Oregon. Clean title, we talked the dealership down from 28,000 before making the trip. It was right before the market spiked crazy but that is exactly what he paid! lol I promise! These trucks were $30,000+ locally so we made the trip to save him $4000 ish… definitely was worth it! 😊
THANK YOU for your service! I’m always open to ideas! But when my grandpa taught dad, and dad taught me at 3 for nearly 30 years… it’s all I know for the most part when targeting lake trout… when we still fish, I don’t have a conventional real and hold the pole upside down, so I’m not super crazy lol 😊
It’s the only way I’ve seen how so please feel free to share what the proper combination would be for the 10 colors leaded line setup(no down riggers). Maybe it’s better! I know our way works but it’s the only way I’ve ever known! So please feel free to share your thoughts! I enjoy making the videos to relive these memories. The people I’m with, the fish we catch, just being out on the water… it’s paradise! If what I do isn’t for you, that’s okay! I appreciate any and all people who watch! It’s a 75ft lake that I’ve been going to for almost 30 years. They don’t get much bigger at that body of water! Fishing gear aside, the set up works! But it’s always good to have luck on your side! Tight lines! 💯🎣
We call them trolling set ups. It’s an Ugly Stick Tiger 10-50 pound action where a smaller lake trout is still fun with the back bone for bigger! That trolling real has 10 colors lead core line, swivel, liter, down to my rapala. This kind of set up has caught us thousands of fish for generations… I appreciate your comment thought! 💯😊
I have the full video up on my channel that includes measurements and more of that fish! I made a short out of the OG video so more could see it! I’m still new at this I wish I knew how I could have dropped a pic at the end! But the main video is up! 💯😊
It’s an UglyStick Tiger, 10-50lbs pole. It’s light enough for smaller lake trout with the back bone for bigger! My dad and nephew loved my pole so much they bought the exact same one for themselves. Trolling real with 10 colors lead core line, swivel, and liter down to my Rapala. That’s the setup we rock when trolling for lake trout! 💯😊
Fuckin aye! Felt that same energy catching a 5.5ft black tip my first time on the ocean this past August, thanks for bringing that memory back! Hook em baby 🤙🏻
That’s sick! 💯 I definitely want to expand a bit in future years when the kiddos get older! But man I love these lakers haha 😂 Thank you for the comment! 😎🎣
I’m still a newb to this lol… I’ll get there! I do have the catch video where you see much more! My main focus was letting it go and getting it back into the water… but 37 inches long and safely 22 inches around! Super thick fish! I’ve caught several at the 34-35” range and so this step up was so cool! It’s a smaller local lake too! Not the most ideal location for ones that size… Thank you for the comment! 💯😊
Hi. Very nice video. I am going to buy 2000 LE in Toronto area. Owner said cant pass safety, but engine and transmission good. I think, brakes, exhaust and done. Thank you!
Thanks for the video. I’m getting a 2000 Sienna this weekend. The family is giving it to me for free. I have to replace the dashboard light and fix the bumper, but the engine is good. It still runs well.
