I love to fish, take photos/videos while I fish, and write. If you ask me why do I go fishing the answer will always be I'm an Antoine, Antoine's go fishing!
I love fishing pole 230 the mussel beds on the incoming and jump over to the Cape side and fish the point at the train bridge on the outgoing . Smash some huge stripers , ive caught football tuna and even witnessed a dude catch a sail fish down at the power plant , crazy stuff.
@@ShakaAantoine ive never run into anyone at 230 in all the years I've fished but yeah you have to show up early at the train bridge to get your spot down at the point.
Thanks. I normally save the locations to my Google Maps when fishing on boats. However, just as I was done filming for the review, the captain blew the horn for us to start fishing. It was no more than an hour S, SW out the inlet...about the same as last year.
Went the end of May during the week. When did you go its elbow to elbow on that bad boy. Great fishing overall tho. Also hit the CCC for some rockfish no luck tho.
Ok, nice! Thanks. This was Memorial Day. If I drove up, I would always stop at the Canal before going home. I came with this group so I could only look as we went over the Sag Bridge. How often do you fish the Canal?
@@ShakaAantoine probably once a year as we come up out of MD late May/early June. We hit the Helen H or Nantucket Sound. Last year we watched a bunch of your vids to get some recon on the Cape.
Looked like a great time on the Helen H. I've done a few church trips out of Central CT a few years ago. Some people watching your channel might not know that a small porgy is illegal to use as Striper bait. It still has to be legal size. Nobody wants to get a ticket ... LOL.
What are you talking about "scared"? The only thing I'm conscious of is to avoid it getting poked by the dorsal fins. I don't know what made you feel as if I'm scared of anything.
The fish at the beginning of the season is worth it but if from N.Y with gas food etc ill go to Brooklyn and catch my 15 a day when they come and have fresh fish everyday but i usta always go out there great fishing though
Hello i"m a new comer to sur fishing I have a two star surf fishing rods paired with penn reels and I want to try fall fishing this 2024 . A saleperson from Direct Tackle suggested the above items for starters: Yo-Zuri twitchbait (SS ) 1-3/4oz, SP Minnow7/8oz, Yo- Hydro LC Minnow 1- 1/4oz , Spro bucktail jig 3oz, Storm wildeye swim shad. The items I did purchase if you happen to have any other suggesting please fill free to give me a helping hand. Thank you and your help in this matter would be greatly recieved
Sup, any of the plugs you purchased and the ones I mentioned in this video are great fall time plugs. Sometimes, depending on where you fish can vary what you should be casting.
The only people who comment about how easy it is to catch fish at the canal are people who never fished it or are completely ignorant of the Canal. I'll continue to make Canal videos as long as I'd like, especially if my viewers want to see them...stay in your lane.
@ShakaAantoine Lol I live 10 minutes away 28 yrs experience Post as many videos as you like I moved on from you clowns U popped up on my recommendations So I thought you were funny Posting what I've been doing for years Except 1 thing I do it better I'd teach you better techniques but I don't have time 4 you🤣 Kayak Boat Family Job 1.4 million dollar house Shhh🤫
@staytight6340 Nah, you're the true clown... sounding like someone who has never fished the place. It shows you have no respect for the canal if that's true.
What size swimmer do you use. Fast sinking or slow sinking. I know this is old video but planning trip in middle of June so want to start getting my plug selection ready
These tides still confuse me.Watched multiple videos and had a guy at Red Top try and explain and gave me there tide chart book. So,when the tide is high at say the west end is it low at east end? I believe what the guy at red top tried to tell me an East tide is when it goes low and west when it goes high.Does this sound right?Read somewhere the buzzards bay is higher and it drain into cape cod bay like a bathtub draining?ANY THOUGHTS?
Thanks for commenting. Honestly, the answers to all of those questions were covered in this video. I know the video is a bit long, but I covered that in the video. Watch it again, and if you still feel like I haven't answered those questions, ask more specific questions, providing the time stamps, please.
If you had one rod and reel what would it be and what top 5 lures would you bring with you for the surf regardless of where your going in the country along the coast?
Great question! I'd bring a 11' ODM DNA (1-5 oz) paired with a VS 250 spoiled with 30lbs slick Super Strike Darter, Bottle, Needle, Guppy Pencil, and A27 with a 5/o dressed (white or yellow) siwash hook if we're talking about the NE cost.
I'd like to use the tsunami trophy II series rods because it's what I know and am comfortable with. But wanted to know if the 11ft heavy 2-6oz 20-40lb line. And wanted to use the tsunami shield 6000 thousand but would be okay using the 8000 but prefere the 6000. What you think @Shaka Antoine? Plus I love light tackle fishing and have currently the 10ft 1-5ounce tsunami trophy and a tsunami shield 5000 with 30lb is the setup i have and love it. and I know there at canal that would be under gunned and have heard nothing less than 2-6oz and 20-40lb line class or higher in both categories. But wanted to know where the setup I have would be good on the canal like at the mouths on either end or would you say even then still perhaps a little under gunned
"Light tackle" shouldn't be used in the Canal for several reasons. 2-6 is great for plugging. I prefer to "jig" with something heavier because it's less work, and your goal is to get the fish in as fast as possible. I had a 6k shield on the Canal...big mistake. The bail kept flipping during cast causing me to lose plugs.
For jigging, I use an 11' Lamiglas Carbon Surf (rated 3-8 oz)paired with a Stella 14K, and for plugging, I currently use an 11' Carnage II (rated 2-6 oz) paired with a Saragosa 8k
Eric Looks like he uses the reel I use for tuna and a lamiglas surf rod. But it's so easy 2 catch fish at the canal it would be a complete waste of money to copy him Get a 10K saragosa and get a 10 foot surf rod like a tfo 2 to 6 ounce
Hey Shaka how are you doing? I wasn’t able to follow you for a while due to my phone. It’s all good now and can’t wait for more of your Cape Cod fishing videos. Keep it coming.
I don't use "expensive" waders...they tend to rip every year so I don't see the need to buy good ones lol. I get Frog Togs or anyone thick enough to last a season or two.
Hats off my brother, FISH ON, I live on long Island and was fishing at Montauk point in mid October, blitz after blitz, just about every cast u were hooked up, and yes I was knee deep with fishermen casting over me and snagging me, but that's expected, most were respectful but u had your idiots, anyway great vid, FISH ON BROTHER!
I think you should taken the opportunity to educate the guy on your extreme left who kept snagging your buddy. I believe he just was ignorant about how to cast when people are that close to one another.
