I have a problem with sliding that i get stuck in downswing. Shouldn't a lot weight stay in trail leg in downswing and simultaneously put pressure on lead foot? Because once you recenter yourself, you're suppose to turn hips by pushing off pressure in lead foot. Some say push off trail foot and some say put pressure off trail foot.
Sliding is a different issue. That’s an issue where you don’t know how to use your lead leg plus your backswing will more than likely be out of position
sometimes when i have a real open fairway i can hit this real loopy draw that curves about 30 yards in the air and most of the time will finish in the middle. when i hit it i open the face at the top and roll it closed on the way down and the ball goes out and looks more like it's flying like a kite and cutting through the air and goes quite far. my friends are always amazed when they see it. i can do it as a fade also by aiming left and have an open face at address and hold it off a bit. i find trying to curve the ball is creative and a lot of fun and easiest to do with a teed up driver.
for the past several years i have been doing the stable body release but when i have problems with it i can switch to the roll release. what i find for me is the stable release ball flight is quite low and the roll release is a lot higher.
Great lesson, probably the best in my entire golfing time. I was struggling with inconsistencies all the time due to my premature lift up of this naughty left shoulder. Yesterday I changed my swing respecting this video and performed in just one fame the best ever! Now I lnow how to proceed! Thanks a lot mate!!
Always great, GG. I have done this with my wedges recently with a right wrist bend and have better contact. I will try the left wrist bow- holdoff. Thank u
Great instruction. Recently started using my wedges more to get better in the short game. Hope your drill is going to help hitting more consistently. Maybe you could tell us more about the lie? Could this also be the reason some shots are thin or fat?
Great video. Thank you. Would really like to know how to hit the Wesley Bryan greenside spinner. He seems to hit a cut spinner from the fringe out and I would really like to know how to maximize spin. Additionally, ball types for this shot. Prov1x, chrome tour x, etc. thank you again!
I struggle to hit full wedge shots that don't sit in the clouds. So half and 3/4 shots are the thing for me because they go low and drop and stop. Thansk Giles.
Hi Giles, nice video. Thank you. If you haven’t already could you please do a video explaining the difference in bounce factor for each wedge and the pros and cons for 50/52, 54/56 and 58/60. What would you recommend and why. Cheers, Marcus.
Just like to add that if your weight is too much towards your toes on your feet you won't be able to transfer your weight properly and will most likely lose your balance
This makes so much sense. I'm right side dominant but play left handed & feeling of a slightly behind back swing & closed face seems to work better for me I've noticed at the range recently.
Giles we spend most our time in the ROUGH ! could you show us how to get out of, ball high grass and higher ? with 60yd wedge . with a 150yd iron ? with a 180yd hybrid/fairway wood ?
Wedge practice is my “go to event” before any other area of my practice sessions. Every aspect of your video mirrors a lot of my wedge game. The one aspect of wedge play which improved my consistence of good contact is keeping my lead arm connect to my body throughout my swing! ⛳️
Hey Giles, got into golf few years ago. I practiced a lot and got to a point where my swing was incredible. Then it began to fall apart and I couldnt salvage it. Who would you recommend getting instruction from. Was watching your content last night and seen a few of your swings. I feel my swing was similar but now I’m all fucked yo
Hello Giles would you show the difference using this video technique comparing the swing for the irons vs the driver/wood? I assume the take away is somewhat flatter?
It’s pretty much the same relative to the ball as we are going to be further away with a driver than we are an iron so that will naturally change the steepness of the shaft
Hi Giles I have been trying your drill over the past few weeks and they have really helped my strike thus the overall game. Thank You. Best of luck on open qualifier.
I would be interested in you filming some of you lessons with students. I find I learn a lot watching those type of vidoes as a lot of amateurs have similar swing issues.
