Hey man not sure if this account is still active but im looking at putting a turbo on my st150 can you drop me a message because i have no clue and cant seem to find any videos on it
Are you doing it yourself or looking for a place to do it? Jamsport do superchargers and I’m sure they’ve done a few turbos but you’d have to enquire as it’s not on the website, supercharger on the website is like 4 and a half grand though for reference so it’s not cheap, if you’re doing it yourself there used to be a guy selling kits but he seemed to disappear but might be able to find used stuff on eBay, otherwise you’ll have to get it custom made
Never owned ep3 had fn2 and its more futuristic than ep still looks well today were ep3 looks old now driving fn2 was fun n i regret getting rid of it for my bmw but hey shit happens good review
Had both. Ep3 was more for racing and apart from the leather seats was pretty basic. . Fn2 much more luxurious. Only had fn2 for 2 weeks tho so I'll wait for a bit to decide haha
It is really strange that nobody mentioned steering racks and gearbox difference. FN2 has quicker steering rack than EP3. Do not remember 100% but it was something 2.4 lock to lock on FN vs 2.7 on EP. Quicker rack + stiffer suspension therefore FN2 feels more agile at front end. Also gear ratios. FN2 have shorter ratios than EP3 and 5.1 final drive (same as JDM FD2) So if you not on the track pushing the limit the FN2 feels even more engaging for daily driving around town: qicker steering, stiffer suspension, shorter gearbox. Torsion beam rear suspension is not as bad as everyone EP3 owner thinking. And seats are also part of the expirience. FN2 seats are excellent compare to flat ones on EP3. Main EP3 benefit is less weight.
Hi man, are you okay? I also have a 2003 Ford Fiesta mk5 except that my engine is a 1.25i of 70hp, could we meet to study a swap with the same engine modifications as you?
I hate the inside of EP3's, proper ugly and dated, I get having one for a track car over an FN2 but cant think of any other reason you'd want one. I've got a 2009 FN2 and people think it's a way newer car than it actually is hahaha
I would get the FN. Why? Cos every EP3 will have been ragged to within an inch of its life for the last 15-20 years. At least with the FN2 you have a greater chance of it being owned by someone who is more about comfort and probably LESS LIKELY to have ragged it. I'm sure some of the owners were just casual drivers who wanted something sporty. Everyone who buys a EP3 is a gear head who buys it to rant. You could probably strip some weight out of the FN2 and the engine will probably be in better condition to boot.
Looks id say fn2 but for everything else go with the ep3 due to the 100kg less weight advantage plus track ready suspension double struted and mechanical lsd set up that's kinda the whole point to be honest it's about performance first luxury a big second I like the fn2 no doubt I just find its trying to follow in a non-hardcore kinda vw path of which it's not but yeh ep3 gets my vote
Me personally, the fn2 owner seemed abit bias but yet again so am i😂 i personally like the ep3 more as it is lighter, looks better (in my opinion) and has an interesting interior with some cool qwerks and lovely seats
Both great, I used to be an EP3 fan boy and loved my EP3, always believed fn2's wernt worth a punt. However I recently got offered a deal on a champ white FN2 and it has really surprised me! Don't like the dash it's too big and too much going on. But other than that it's amazing! Mapped to 223hp with vtec coming in at 4k and the lsd I hate to say it but it would run rings around my old EP3
Love the cars mate ! I have a late fn2 type r silver so I prefer fn2 hands down. Thing is mate like allot of videos u play music in the bck ground ! I'm a old git old school.
I've owned 2 fn2s and now an ep3. I agree the fn2 is a better daily/all rounder but once you mod the 2 cars, only then you begin to understand why the ep is such an amazing car. Is the ep for me. Going for 4 years now and not a single day goes by where I get bored in it. Great review though gents👏👌
@@BIG-DEE-EASTMIDDZ I’m not 100% sure which downpipe should be used as I don’t deal in tdo/ t turbos I only deal in Garrett etc turbos but I’m sure it’ll be best with a custom down pipe
What was you racing at the end. It was quick whatever it was. I have an FN2 type R with 19 k miles and keep thinking about doing TDI North Turbo but it's big money. I would want to forge the engine. Yours was not forged was it but it blew a rod through the engine didn't it which worries me. Would you do it again or if you was me or is it not worth the money. I guess it would be around 10k with LSD without forging and to forge as well probably almost 20k. What have you raced and how would you compare it to other quick cars. Is it too much for FWD ? 👍👍
Gary I'm in the same boat dude although I'm swaying towards the TTS Shaft drive kit esp with Tegiwa Easter discount the whole kit is around 3700, even with fitting & mapping much cheaper than the TDI turbo . The reason also I'm swaying to charging is less torque stress on engine internals I just ordered an RRC manifold, FD2 Cams, oil pump delete thinking of sending the lot back & putting cost towards charging but remember any forced induction you'll never see your money 💸 back. My sensible side says keep it NA and be happy with it, run it till FK2 prices drop a bit more than get an FK At least the FK was built for the turbo and internals will be suited to it
Slightly different. The heads are different so are the oil pumps. Also the fn2 has a electronic throttle whereas the ep3 is a cable throttle there is other differences aswell. But the engines are similar
