Good video. I know you’ll point me in the direction of the manufacturer but why don’t you guys ever tell us the most important information/question……. WHATS THE RRP!??
It’s on our website for New Zealand based - but a lot of viewers are from outside new New Zealand so I kept it generic plus if it changes it doesn’t make the video wrong either
My test scope is a meopta optika 6 works well and dials under the caps - but really if buying a glass scope as well consider a night stalker - day night, ballistics, 100mm eye relief
Correct :) - zero point - Front Clip ons have some place in the world, but QD Mounts are so good these days just swap the entire scope - or just run a Night Stalker day or night
Either really - just different specs - both have ballistics - with QD mounts both do work as a handhelds as well, FT is smaller - but both the FT and SA32 are older models now - pantera, ocelot, TD are the scopes and predator replaced FT (not seen a predator yet)
Hi mate, been looking into these for months, thanks for the review! Question, im going to be using it for rabbits from the 15-200m range on a 22lr but also out to 600m on my 6.5cm(will be very very seldom). What out of the 50/70/100 would you recommend? I always choose high mag in my steiners and NF's as i prefer to have too much opposed to not enough. Any advice is much appreciated! It will also be a 850nm also
The MT3 seems like the only mount worth getting for this system. Why on god's green earth Can I find it absolutely everywhere except in the US? That is truly some stupid marketing.
I love the video but I'm dying to see how pixelated things become if you want to use it as a clip on at night. 2-4 power range is all I care about. I estimate the image resolution to be 480x360 at 3x zoom but I would love to know that that actually looks like. Even the high end thermal clip ons I've used become very "blobular" looking after even 2x but would love to see how bad the compromise is on this. I like the 007 but some of the scopes I want to use dont have parallax adjustment and it just does not work for that.
Yes using digital zoom will drop it some - the sensor has more pixels than screen so some is lossless Thermal resolution and blobular - my new word :) Honestly just go a night stalker and chuck the glass scope away - day and night, dusk and dawn - ballistics … I don’t own any glass scopes anymore and neither do mates
@@owlopticsandoutdoors Thanks, I worked it out eventually. I needed to scroll down to the Save parameter and long press on that to change the profile. Thanks for your response
@@owlopticsandoutdoors NV-SC4 has 4K sensor and yet the digital zoom is only 2X which means it can only go up to 8X with base mag 4X. Any idea as to why it is so low?
Ts definitely - 100mm of eye relief - clip ons (any brand) have issues - of course you maybe in USA and can attach it to a rail as well But then again - ballistics are brilliant to have
"Does it calculate the ballistics and always place the crosshair of the scope at the right point? No need to compensate? Does it work from 5 to 1000 meters?"
Yes the aiming point (main reticle stays the same) works - put right data in and it goes a very long way - 1269 (see other video) and 1439 on targets for the night stalker model - you won’t be shooting anything like that far with a thermal though
Hey mate. Watched all your vids on the 007sp so thank you for posting them! How did you find it optically on the meopta? I’ve heard maybe their lens coating hurts the vision? And what nm IR are you running here for the cattle at 500m?
The meopta is very good That’s more of a old wives tail about coatings - the real world is very little practical difference I was using 850nm - it’s clearer I have a video with both on it and you can see the difference.
would this hold up to a 308? by all account they can i thought its worth the ask though im considering this vs a pulsar f455 etc and this seems ti be ace and then pickup a bigger torch to augment view range?
As soon as you dial it will freeze, no clicking to do that - doesn’t matter if you turn left or right, just hold still and turn then you can move the way you need to and click to next - to save yes its a long press
Correct - the very fine adjustments required make it rather impossible with any distance to be that precise with something clamped on to a scope - LRF works though
Looks like a good image at max digital zoom. I am still trying to understand the benefits of a 4k sensor (3840*2160) when the display (800x800 circular) has not changed. Is there an independant technical explantion ? Looking forward to receiving my new TA32-35 LRF in a few weeks !!
Basically there are more pixels behind the screen on the sensor so it’s a lossless zoom as you zoom - same as you phone really - check out my video on the cattle and water trough - they should be here next week
Hello. I ask you something that has me in doubt.. Both the ds 35 and this one come with 1 of their rings, in the part that goes to the picatiny rail an elevation to compensate Moas, do you know how many moas the value is? ..20 , 40?. Regards
Hi. You state that the scope on rifle's zoom won't really be meaningful. I have a Vortex Diamondback Tactical ffp. Will using this unit not make my scope's advantages obsolete? Also, can the front clip on record a reticle while hunting? Thanks
Yep your glass scope will just zoom into a tv screen - clip on are all a compromise - best is just run a standalone scope like night stalker 4k - day night, dusk and has ballistics and 100mm of eye relief
Question for you! How well does it retain "zero" in clip on configuration? Do I need to collimate every time? Also, I've got a Schmidt & Bender that doesn't give me any parallax adjustment. Is that feature necessary to get a good image?
Watch the video I have a test there using the FD1, concept is the same, yes you should check it - any front clip on (any brand) that isn’t bolted to chassis can move depending on what you do as its just holding the front of the scope - QD mounts and just swap the whole scope is better - needs to be able to focus to see the screen
Thanks for the review. Been running with the DS-70 for well over a year now and I'm very happy with it. Was thinking of going to the hikmicro 4K but after talking to the lads at the shooting range today i was informed that PARD now has a 4K variant. Couple of questions. Can the Pard DS Gen 1/2 obtain the 22 zoom with a firmware update? and when recording video footage with the 4k does it display the picture in picture if its being used when recording?
@@owlopticsandoutdoors is it critical to do the figure of eight motion, mines 14 to 15 inches low at 25 metres and the Y axis can't reach the point of impact?
Hi, thank you for your video. I would like to ask you about the ' field of view '. Is it more or less the same or the 4K has larger / bigger field of view ?! Kind regards, Péter
