G'day, I'm Mattsy. I'm a keen explorer and ex Infantryman. Watch along as I explore and setup camp in the great Australian bush. A bit humour, a bit of mayhem, and always some beautiful surrounds.
This was an epic episode mate loved it the poetry the whole thing had good vibes I love the spotted quoll they’re one of my favourites and pretty rare to see 🙌🏼
I was in the infantry back in the 80's and I can totally relate to you. I appreciate your sharing you adventures and any content! Please keep on keeping on sir. Thank you!
Mate. I don't have words. I was meant to come across you when I did. You and a couple of others, Scotty, Luke and Scotty have sparked a new fire in me. Have been bush every weekend for the last 3 weeks. I'm in tears writing this comment. Good ones. I'm so back. Thank you. So much love from Tassie. 🙏💙💙
Yes mate! I love that! Good for you mate, good for you 💪💪 Stoked to hear it. It’s crazy that taking this leap and starting this channel so that I could spend more time in the places that make me feel good is having a similar affect on others when they watch them. I bloody love it. Thank you so much for sharing dude. Keep getting out there! Take care 🙌
Hey mate, that jacket I chucked on in the morning is the Alton Anorak. They’re not cheap but they are excellent quality. The material itself is breathable and doesn’t rely on any added chemicals added to it to make it so. Crack the zips under the armpits and you can wear it on the move without sweating up too much of a storm. I should have a link in the description 👍
Awesome video, really enjoyed the scenery and the comments you add to it are nice too. Liked how peaceful and happy you looked that part where you mentioned feeling grateful. It’s those moments that make hiking so special.
Every video. You say something with looks on your face to match. That make me laugh hard. “ I have to shop yelling , because I’m In a caravan park “ 🤣🤣
"everything since birth to now settles on your shoulders"...all too often brother. Poignant way to put it. Count it as a blessing.... you have a healthy spirt, conscious and are wise so I am sure you have great fondness of those solemn moments.
The noggins been a bit spun up lately, and you just talking about it and acknowledging the same helps as much as that wonderful backdrop you've ventured out to 🙏
I could sit here and watch your videos for hours. The scenery is just so amazing and what you say about it soothing the soul would be so true. It sure would be a great way to clear the head. Might just have to give it a go soon. Keep up the great work mate. Loving it 🤙
Iv just found your page and it's amazing!! I know how much extra weight you pack just to film these videos but if isn't too much to ask can you buy a drone to film as if a bird was flying around, you see the most amazing sceneries and when I saw that sun set I would of loved to see it from the sky
Hey mate! Thank you! Unfortunately down here in Tasmania you’re not allowed to fly drones because of the birdlife, and I don’t like hearing drones so it doesn’t bother me 😅 sorry! I really appreciate you watching and enjoying the videos! Maybe once I get back to the mainland of Australia I’ll invest in a drone 🙏
Loved that one Mattsy, it’s been great watching you develop as an individual, adventurer and Tuber. I’m still waiting for that book release of Mattsy Philosophy but I do believe you just gave the book its title - ‘Que The Spiritual Monologue’. It has a best seller written all over it and I’m reserving my advance copy . 👍
that red glow was just incredible, lucky country mate, absolutely lucky. pro tip as well for cold weather, boil water and put it in a bottle, then put it in a sock, you'll have warmth for a good part of the night.
Stunning wasn’t it! Yeah I know that trick, I don’t know why I didn’t do it on this trip to be honest, it would’ve been bloody good 😂 Thanks for reminding me!
I felt your pain when you got to the top and it was nothing but cloud, but you couldn’t have had better weather for the other one. It looks a bit like certain parts of northern canada, but it’s so weird to be sitting here in front of the fan, sweating my butt off, nearly 30c, with more than 80% humidity, and seeing you winter hike. 😀
Thanks mate! It’s made by a guy in NZ - Southern lite packs. It’s from the hunting range just because I wanted the slightly tougher material. I love this thing.
As a Canadian, used to sleeping out in the winter at minus 20 C, may I recommend you pack along a reflector accordion mat (the one you put on the windscreen of your car to reflect sunlight away from the car interior). Put that on the tent floor, mylar reflector side up, then use a closed cell foam mat as your mattress. Inflatable mats tend to freeze up with your breath and deflate since air cools and shrinks. Closed cell foam, bulky as it may be, retains its thickness, hence, its insulative value. Cheers Matzy.
Awesome info! Thanks mate! The mattress is pumped up with one of those sacks or my small electric pump and I didn’t have any issues with it being cold or deflating but I love the recommendation of the accordion mat and will try that on the next trip for sure. But I do want to point out that I was warm in my sleeping gear, I meant the night itself was the coldest I’ve been out in. Getting up to pee sucked 😂 Anymore tips please send em through!
Thank you so much for sharing your adventures, this one helped my noggin for sure! Gla dyou were able to lay eyes on your first spotted quoll! Awesome. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thanks Mattsy for this Tassie trip.. absolutely stunning views.. and thanks heaps for your words at the end ...NEVER BE TO HARD ON YOURSELF, YOU ARE HERE AND BREATHING MAKE LIFE COUNT.. I'M TRYING 🦘🐨❤
Tell me you spent a week in ross without telling me you spent a week in ross (Everything is now the best sight you've ever seen). Ahaha love to see you back at it ol' mate. Welcome to paradise!!!
