I found that Winchester ammo sucks for this gun. My thought is the end of their shells seem to not be very rounded off on the edge and have points that can kind of stick out that appear to catch sometimes and jam it up. I can shoot Remington 1300+ velocity buckshot all day long with no problems
@@erikike1 mine would not even cycle Winchester. I was able to run the federal field and game 1200 ft./s ammo through it box after box with no issue. But the Winchester was just a little bit too slow at like 110000 feet per second and it wouldn’t cycle.
What about the 38/44's from Smith and Wesson? The big N framed guns firing a 38 special round. You could also buy 38/44 high speed ammo which would toss a 158 grn SWC or LRN at 1100 FPS give or take (38/44 High Speed is dimensionally identical to 38 Special just a lot more pressure). I know several of mine went Police departments and the most famous 38/44's are the Austin PD's block or nickel plated versions. They can be found occasionally at gun shows for a reasonable price. I think there were several hundred of them original with an APD & number engraved on the backstrap. My favorite is my 5" post war (made in 49) that I bought directly from the police officer who carried it. It has definitely been used and is worn on one side but the internals are perfect.
I have this pistol. Purchased 2 other grips; but honestly as ugly as the rubber grip is, it fits like a friggin glove. Well designed👍 the 2 i bought suck
I have the Grizzle as a carry weapon when out and about in the woods , it's small but powerful. It's versatile since I can shoot bird shot , 410 slugs or the 45 Long Colt rounds in it. I also have a home defense rounds which are 2 , 36 caliber balls with a 41 cal slug. Then there are the 410 ga buckshot rounds. It's easy to load , accurate for a reasonable distance and has a wide variety of different ammunition for it. Mine is loaded with a LC -45 bottom barrel and bird shot top barrel. Cant do that with a normal pistol.
I think if I got the longer barrel that could handle 3” .410 it would make this better, though a 2 1/2” shell can still pack a wallop! Its a cool gun and useful, but it’s heavy and still only a 2 shot,
The flinch is bad :) if you shoot only one gun it’s easy to get used to it and not flinch, but being that I shoot a lot of guns at the same time, and they all have different triggers, sometimes it’s difficult to shoot them all well
I bought this handgun yesterday in .40 cal.I took it to my home made pistol range to try it out.I put 150 rounds through it and was very impressed. It is accurate and had no malfunctions.I will load it with Hornady Critical Defense .40 cal and it is my official truck pistol. Some complain of the trigger travel. No big deal.Just get use to it like any other handgun.Shoot it a lot.Paid 293 dollars brand new.Very pleased with my purchase.
@@DT-ww4gv I find I am liking 40 more and more. I avoided it for years, but it has its place. Plus, it was one of the last calibers on the shelves during the plandemic.
Just picked up a police magnum today. It has the shorty tube and unfortunately won’t take the 3 inch shells however it looks brand new on the inside. Outside is super scuffed but the inside looks like he shot it just to keep his certification.
Those model 60 grips suck, the plastic base you said was a positive is actually a negative, the rubber disconnects from it over time. And they usually don’t meet up symmetrically in the front. And the plastic holding the nut in cracks and the nut pulls out
With the fixed A2's it's a bit more forgiving as far as quality between vendors goes but you can still get had. The upside there is that if you install the assembly yourself you'll have ur hands on every individual component so if there's a question of quality you'll know soon. The cheap cast aluminum detachable handles seem to have issues with wind age a lot of times too.
