Oh it was just the thumbnail, i felt like reuploading with a better one would help the video ,but i think this game doesn't have a large audience so this video is unfortunately a loss but oh well :)
@@LuciMax I believe you can just change the thumbnail of a video without having to reupload it in the RU-vid editor. True, I too had no idea this series existed had you not made this video but perhaps the RU-vid algorithm Gods will be kind to you I just double check. Under your video through the "Edit video" button you can go to the thumbnail click at the top right and there you can see the option to change the thumbnail all without needing to reupload a video.
Town of Salem 2 is... a social deduction game. It seems fine at first, but when you get to know other games, the issues start to become obvious. What reason is there for half of the Town to just have self-confirming mechanical effects (like Admirer, Veteran, Vigilante, Deputy... the *entire* Town Power alignment) where the only way you can even dare to fake them as evil is if you're the Necromancer? Why is it impossible for a Doomsayer or Ritualist to guess a Town Investigative? It's just a pointless limitation that can make certain scenarios completely unwinnable for the Doomsayer in question. It isn't "oppressive" because nobody's forcing TIs to tell the truth... oh, right, the ToS playerbase exists. Why can the Executioner, a role supposed to be Neutral *Evil*, potentially end up getting 3 evils out of the game in one day? (pushing hard to execute the 1st, tormenting the 2nd, then leaving town themselves as the 3rd) - Same for the Jester, to a lesser extent. They can get 2 out (execute themselves for the 1st then haunt the 2nd that night). - Actually, you can say this about every Neutral Evil, considering the Doomsayer's ability to kill 3 evils and the Pirate's ability to kill 2 That said, it is a fun game to play here and there, but it (mainly ToS2) doesn't feel like a social deduction game (especially not with the flashy cutscenes). Rarely are actual socials involved due to the fact most things are solved by executing whichever poor soul doesn't have an Auto-Confirm Button™or whoever the Psychic's information points to.
I used to be obsessed with TOS1. I found it during the pandemic when there was a decent enough player base to only have to wait a few minutes max for a lobby to fill in. The learning curve was steep but at that point there were quite a lot of new players so classic mode (where you have to play a certain number of games before you can play other modes and the role list is simplified to make it easier to learn the game). The leaning curve was steep but so much fun. I remember spending so long utterly confused by transporters and what their purpose was before realising how OP it was as a role. And then eventually the player base dwindled as life started to resume post pandemic. Lobbies became inundated with trolls especially if the racist variety. And the devs did little (aka nothing) to stop it. I stopped playing completely by the time TOS2 came out. I still think it’s a great game and probably one of the best games I’ve ever played. But the devs don’t seem to care about it. Their focus is pumping out as much money as they can rather than fixing the issues that have contributed to them bleeding players. I’d love to get back into the game but unless the devs are able to actually be proactive in listening to their community (I’m on the subreddit and in the discord and trust me they could not care less about how they have contributed to the demise of the game) Anyway I still enjoy hearing people enjoy the game.
this game has a learning curve and infuriation for begginers that reminds me of decaying winter lol, i love this game but i suck at being evil, except the game i just got as sk where i killed 2 cov and a soul collecter who was almost transformed into death LOL, i clutched up for the town :D
So… I have like 500-ish hours in this game (I think almost 600) and I love it… minus the micro transactions… the game is amazing and I absolutely love how complicated it is, but the downside is every match you find at least one person who doesn’t claim, doesn’t post as TI or just claims evil. It’s fine in a vacuum but when it becomes almost every game It starts to get annoying. Amazing to see a creator that isn’t Londyn/Tuba/Pipton make a video about it
you call TOS2 complex social deduction ? play TOS 1 its much complex because you have to rely on mostly chat alone and wills for scumread. Abilities are too weak comparet to TOS2 to achieve anything alone.
I think TOS2 is an objectively more polished and balanced game, which is why i prefer it more and chose to talk about it, but you are welcome to stick with whatever you like
Have you played Better Town of Salem 2? While it has a much higher learning curve and you might get caught with mechanics different to vanilla m, it has fun roles, modifiers and game lists as well as a community of people who are genuinely interested in putting in time and learning so there will be less throwers.
I have not, and honestly i dont think i will, i kinda use TOS as my "relax" game where there no pressure, so id rather leave the modded to people who want to take the game a bit more seriously :)
@@LuciMax Yeah I do understand that BTOS2 is a lot more stressful cause ya have to deal with more stuff and the players are more competitive. I do also sometimes just hop into some regular AA and just chill.
@@LuciMax from what I heard, they fired the main artist, and they fired Tuba and Cutis who were the people who made btos2 and made the rebalances recently
It's good and yea the graphics aren't bad, but why is the chatbox so small? The game is literally played in the chatbox and it's shoved in the corner and so tiny it's hard to read even when playing the game, nevermind trying to watch someone else play it xP I think the poor accessibility hinders the game and it's popularity imho Thank goodness for Pipe with his edited zoom ins and reading out the text
ToS is on the level with SS13 for me, if I'm honest. In SS13, EVERYONE (even the majority alignment) is going to make eventual mistakes regardless of skill level, but it's more to credit the mechanical complexity and lack of information for that trope. Imagine a more action-based dungeon game out of ToS with 70-80 players instead of 16, and you'll start to see some glaring similarities. (fuck knows though, considering their somewhat different genres)
I don't play ToS2, but I do play CRK. This comment *vividly* reminded me of a time that someone used tk referring to Tea Knight. In Cookie Run name abbreviations, tk is Timekeeper.
Aww ToS , its complex af and 1 and 2 play significantly different from one another and with the inclusion of mods makes it an incredibly fullfilling game to test your wits
ToS2 just feels like a never ending feeling of impending doom. Both in game and out. Players getting worse, your fake claim being outed, microtransactions becoming commonplace in game, to an Apocalypse player transforming, and then the dev team firing everyone but 3 people (like wtf BMG)
Ahem, not all skins are free like you said. most of them u can buy after getting ''deed to the town'' (which i dont reccomend theres daily stuff that give u life 50% off for super deed to the town that is the price of deed to the town but better) also getting all evils as marshal is the best feeling in the world.
Only problem I have with the game is that it has so much potential and people just play All any. I think I’ve played 100+ AA games and like 5-10 town traitor and 1 classic game. A way to solve this issue slightly is to mod the game to BToS2
The game used to have active communities in every gamemode, but now it’s just aa. If you want to play other things, better town of Salem 2 mod has a pretty active casual queue right now
TOS 1 is more complicated than TOS 2. You are sheriff who found 3 as sus? Nah mate, according to town, you 12 as sus. You just didn't know it because 3 was transed with 1 and 1 got transed with 7 and 7 got transed into 12. Best of all, the last one was absolute cap because hypno gave the transed message to 12 which means you actually saw 7 as sus. So you got 12 hung but you are going to be executed by the Jailor because 12 was actually witched and you are being a potential Witch being proven fake Sheriff
I do think so too, tos1 had many "chaos" roles like transporter and hypnotist to say the least. But i think there is a fine line between the game being "complicated" and "bullshit" if you know what i mean
