New channel dedicated to tennis. Expect to see racquet and string reviews of the latest and most popular releases as well as some hit up and match footage.
I think old school 90's racquet focus on great connection to the ball, low power and precision - because courts were much faster during that period The frame is pretty muted in terms of feel, it does play nicely though for a flatter game as you are alluding to yep, but it has some viable power if you swing well
i totally agree with your review apart from what you say about power. New vcore is way more powerful than the previous version. After a month and still cannot get use of it.
It's a bit dependent on the specs - the old one defaulted to a higher stock swingweight, so it will by nature have more heft to the ball, but the new one is far more launchier and you need a more control string to dial it down
@ACTennis hadn't thought it like that. Maybe that is the case, and it confuses me a bit. It is close to vcore 100 2021. Maybe because of the shape of the head. I use tourna big hitter 7 silver and also have PTP yellow and hyper g regular reels. I might need to go 52 pounds from 50 pounds
@@nicolasX2602 I did like an unshaped string better in the VC98 and higher tension can help definitely since PTP is quite comfortable - every other string i tried (since my gf now uses it for a main) i struggle to control it lol, but i put lots of shape strings for her because she prefers the extra help with the spin
@@ashton2410 Blade 100, Percept / Speed MP, Cx 400, Strike MP aux 2.0 is a downgrade , because of the specs they default at stock, its not beneficial to most users i think, too high of swingweight
@@ACTennis thanks. Blades are my favorite racquets but I can’t get on with the new buttcaps of v8/v9 so I’m stuck with my 98 v7. Don’t mind the radical but it hurts my arm. Speed mp I really struggle with control especially ohbh so think I’m stuck with unforgiving nature of 98s.
@@ACTennis Wouldnt a 16x19 gravity 98 with exact same specs play very similar to a gravity tour 18x20 (assuming same beam). I read your reply earlier about not liking the gravity tour. Do you find the auxetic radicals much better in terms of comfort than previous? I think auxetic 2.0 radicals could be a winner which I assume are 2025 also.
@@ashton2410 It's probably gonna be a bit more Blade like, which in fairness us not gonna be that far off thr Gtour - i playtested it a couple years ago for a short time, cant say i remember alot about it though lol I have bought the aux Gtour recently and well i dont like auxetic gravity feel , but it plays decent, just not better than the Pro, nor do i like the current gen Pro over the original Aux radicals on other hand was an upgrade , albeit slight, but feel was much better, but i think string sensitive - 2.0 may also be slight improvement, if the specs remain similar
Hi! Im attacker player using full-western grip with a lot of generative spin. Do you recommend the 16x19 or the 18x20? Currently playing with the shift 300 16x20 and love it! Looking to get an advanced racket so the blade on the spot for me.
@@noynizri7860 Nothing wrong with the shift, probably suits your game better than a Blade - Blade will take away alot of your spin which is probably weaponized - i would stick with something that enhances your strengths if you already like it, dont force a change for no reason - but if youre looking to have fun, then try the 16x19 , 18x20 will be too closed for you probably
I switch between pure strike 16/19 3rd gen and gravity tour auxetic. I love the stability, pop and spin I get from the pure strike but find it often to sluggish and powerful, so I tried the gravity tour which is more controlled and still has good amount of spin but lacking pop, a bit of stability and net clearance. I’d like to find sth in between the two. Could the Percept 100d work? Thanks
@@schoenlinggwunderbar Percept 100 with some weight to bring it up to the 100d specs maybe since youre already coming from 18x20 and struggling with pop
@@ACTennis Yes, I like your OHBH as well, in one of your videos with the camera moving behind to show the angle of your OHBH, that is just beautiful and I am trying to practice like that. BTW, there is another version of Blade v9 98S 18x16, a very strange string pattern, Is it a chance for you to review it?
@@SonPham-zy2zp Thanks! i have been working on it alot since this video, and it's much better even now since February / March - for the Blade 98S, i don't think it's available here in Australia unfortunately
Im a 3.0 - 3.5 player (i guess more 3.5 than 3.0) (playing for 2,5 years, once a week just with a friend - no competitive yet). 33year old male. I like to hit big from the baseline more, than rushing through the net. I’m trying to play with spin but I’m not the best spin player of my technique. So if I try to hit winners, I often shoot em too flat and they are going too long - out. I’m actually playing the 2023 head extreme mp, because I thought „if I’m not good enough to generate spin with a good technique, maybe the extreme mp can help me with it. But now I’m thinking, maybe I need a more control friendly racket. I’m thinking of the speed or the gravity line. But I don’t know which is better for me and which model i should take (MP, Tour, Pro of gravity or speed) What do you suggest me to get?
Feels a bit chunkier, alot more free stability, ezone handles alot faster and whippier , allowing for more spin, power is dependent on your strike style, i prefer linear stroke with Blade 100 and handsy stroke for Ez98
Still stick with Gravity Pro, Ezone 98 is a secondary, maybe even more for doubles and Tfight ISO a third option - i probably should give the Strike VS another go though
@@ACTennis thank you! Primary stick for me is a pro staff v13, but starting to look for possible new stick that is a bit more forgiving and really similar to what you are looking for! I may try the gravity...
Thanks for the great review! 💯 I’ve used champions choice in my Regnas, and it allows me to swing effortlessly with power. Head Lynch Tour at 42 is next. 😀
Nah i demoed this one but it was easy to hit enough to get a good idea of how it plays over a week, since i'm directly coming off using the 16x19 version, so i never bought 18x20, but if i were to buy one of the two, would be the 18x20
Actually I tried speed mp 100 and pure drive 100 and I like them because of forgiveness and easy power, but sometimes I tend to love stiffer frames with low weight as they are easy to manuever and powerful at same time, Also tried v8 blade 100, I like the feel and control of it but ai really felt its more heavey than all 300grams rackets I tried, so do u recommend me trying 100L light version of this one ? Its stiff an low weight so it sounds like it could suit me well... Thanks also for really detailed review, keep it up!
Yep that's because it's kind of head heavy with a large head size, so it can feel a little clubby for some people 100L i think could be a good choice, with a little bit of extra weight if it's not enough, but being stiffer it could be already a reasonable bit more powerful as well
Your videos are great, thank you! Have you ever used the V9 104? For a weak player it really does feel like butter, speaking from experience. I’m looking at possibly adding the 98 18x20. You mentioned you would choose to compete with that model first. Would there be some benefit for a 3.0 player to train with the 98? Or safer to experience the learning curve with the 100? Strong athlete lacking technique. Thanks in advance!
98 18x20 id consider an advanced racquet, best to stick with the Blade 100 or even previous gen 2022 Speed MP / current gen Speed MP legend (they have lower reported swingweights than the regular 2024) - good racquets to help develop
Hi allen, any string recommendation for the V7 16x19, i cant stand the muted feel of this frame (have tried tour bite soft and still too muted for my taste, coming from nblade 98)? Superb review btw👍🏼
V7 feel being muted because it's also a combination of the racquet being super flexible - the best you can do is pair it with a much stiffer string - not the soft versions (as long as it's safe for your arm, and you have no issues using them) Alu power, Tour Bite, Tourna Big Hitter Silver 7 Tour, Luxilon 4G (maybe 4G soft only in this case because it's already like the stiffest string) , Tru Pro Durafluxxx - pretty much alot of the Alu power clones - others can be like Head Lynx Tour, Yonex Poly Tour Rev It's hard to get away from the feel i imagine, i don't think there's alot you can do to offset it, it's just how the frame is built, but that's the best you can do
@@ACTennis Thanks ! I really liked my n blade pairing with YPTP despite the soft flex of nblade 98, with v7 i cant feel anything (maybe because the frame is not so muted like the v7) have not tried YPTR yet is it on the stiffer side and crisper side ? For alu power its kinda expensive in here and lose its playability kinda fast isnt it😁
I do appreciate your detailed review, but not a fan of that camera work. It makes me too dizzy to watch because court is rotating while you are hitting, and I could not concentrate on what you are actually saying about the racquet.
It all depends on how strong you are - it's possible i could get better power from the Nova Team because i'd swing alot faster, but someone who can swing at the same speed using the regular version, then obviously the extra mass is going to help
At equal specs, just the MP, but Tour would be better for all out swinging and maintaining that power with the tighter pattern, MP i feel would spray alot more
After really kind of mastering my technique and swing in recent months since this review, i actually don't mind different frames anymore - currently using my gravity pro obviously 100sqin at a 33cm balance and 321g Of course i much prefer thinner beams , so 22mm max i would say, 100 or 98 is not a problem
Nice review, thanks! Just a comment: perhaps it'd be somewhat more correct to compare with PS 100 (16x19, not 16x20) and Percept 100 (not 100D). I believe those 5g more and the different string patterns is a sign that those are intended for different users (I may be wrong, but I hope you got what I mean).
I get you, but yeah the reason why is that Blade 100 is still a control racquet for this line of racquets, so i compare what i can to the other (within reason) control racquets Speed MP is the only one that is seemingly a bit of an outlier, but it Speeds always had a decemt amout of control for what it was The 5g at this weight is not enough to make a difference for this specific style of racquets
