I am here to serve and teach you everything I've learned about firearms in my lifetime spanning 8 decades as a sportsman, hunter, competitive, and recreational shooter, and my professional career as a retired municipal police captain. I am a retired NRA Police Firearms Instructor, FBI Certified Firearms Instructor, and New Hampshire Certified Police Firearms Instructor. I received training in VIP protection by the Secret Service, and served with them as a protective sniper specialist for visiting Presidents and presidential candidates. I'm NRA Distinguished and will teach you to shoot to your best level. I've expansive and broad knowledge of firearms in virtually all aspects of handgun, rifle, and shotguns, with nearly 50 years of handloading and rifle accurizing experience that I wish to share with you, as my free gift, before my life's completed. Keep up with me, and you'll learn things found nowhere else, and even some things that are entirely unrelated to shooting! God Bless.
Thanks for this very informative review. I've had a Dillon 550B for a decade+ and am a low volume, multi switching reloader. I don't even like switching a toolhead! 2 hrs for setup for a caliber change is a total deal killer for me especially as I would be gaining about 100-150 rounds per hour of output increase from the venerable 550! To say nothing of additional die powder check etc etc costs to get started. If I were to need 10000 rounds of 9mm a year this would be a cool press to dedicate to such a task...otherwise...the versatility of the 550 does it for me.
The only time I ever pulled a weapon there were 6 bothers drunk and high attacking my father at his place of business. I had an over/under 12ga and a 9 shot 22 revolver. Now I carry a Commander size Kimber .45 with a spare mag and a back up 13 rd 9mm with a spare mag. I just purchased a 2011 that is 17+1 that came with an extra magazine and I will be purchasing another mag so that I can use it for IDPA that I used to shoot 35+ years ago. I've never heard of anyone involved in a gun fight say I wish I had brought less ammunition, or time out I need to reload my magazine. God Bless and thanks for posting. BTW I was arrested and the 6 brothers sent home. LE said I used unequal force because they only threatened to beat my brains out with and beer bottle and never pulled a gun, but I did retreat from 3 of the brothers to within 3 feet of a busy highway before pulling a gun. Luckily it was thrown out of court by the Judge, but still had to hire an attorney, and spend an evening in the county lockup.
There is a business that sells replacement powder hopper that are made of Pyrex instead of plastic which should by all means stop any static electricity from building up on the powder in the hopper so that powder bridging in the drop down portion should be a thing of the past. Personally I am getting one, as static electricity is a Handloader's nightmare. DRAM WORX - Pyrex Replacement Hoppers.
My brother in Christ I pray thee is well. I admit that I have been daily looking for another video. I have something very curious to share with you to get your explanation. Recently at the range I found in the dirt two curious lumps of lead. I would like to hear your explanation of what was involved in forming these curious shapes. I have not been able to find a contact e-mail.
Don't know if your still out there GB490, scored a marlin-rem golden 39a nib, never fired, it will go process and procedure before any round goes thru it. Awesome vid, and thank you.
I thank you Sir. I did as one commenter suggested, I zipped it and listened. I learned more in 38.51 minutes than in the last several decades. One time I watched a John Wayne film and in that film his line is (your long on mouth and short on ears). This video is one where you do precisely the opposite. Be long on ears and short on mouth.
This series of videos have been a wonderful education! Thank you for making them… I do have one question on the M1a, and that is about scope mounts… I have not heard good things about any particular one, so I’m curious if you have had success with any particular one? Thanks again for the education 👍
I knew an old guy that usedvthe Swift exclusively for north Missouri whitetails. With his handloads using a 60 grain bullet he was one shot dropping deere out to 400 yard. Amazing marksman, talented reloader and a techical gun tinker. Hecwould go so far as to set the rifling engagement to suit his loads. Exact length on every cartridge, exact powder measurement on every cartridge and bullets sorted for uniformity.
Cut rifling, Button, other?? Barrel harmonics? Bedding (how/where), PSI and barrel wear, Penetration not a function of speed but bullet design, rise of magnum Craze, why 30/06 is the best (oh boy). Well you get the idea. Would love to hear your views on these 😊
Per your advise to upgrade the Mini with that sexy sight, I did. Can not thank you enough, and as an avid photographer, love your explanation using the optical lens apertures in cameras. ❤❤❤❤
Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpeneth iron; So a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. Whoso keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: So he that waiteth on his master shall be honoured. Thank you for another wonderful lesson.
I didn't catch the part about case length, It is very important. All cases must be trimmed to the same length and all bullwts must be seated to the same depth. In this way case pressures are consistant.

I seriously believe GunBlue could teach me Astro Physics.

I have one V numbered from the early 40s. Property of US Government. Been in my family its entire life. It has been reblued in the 70s. lots of scratches. What is it worth?
My Ruger American in 243 shoots 3/8" 3 shot groups. I appreciated your comment on the 243's ability to shoot 3/8" groups and that my groups aren't a fluke.
I love these videos and hearing you speak extemporaneously, smoking a cigar, and drinking a beer, although I think it would be cooler if you were drinking Scotch whisky.
I've used a mix of 50/50 deer tallow and bees wax to just coat the wood stock on an older Marlin. However all the newer woods have that high gloss coating on the Brownings
I bought a used savage 116 (pre acutriger) in .300 win mag I shot a few boxes of ammo through to rifle by both sighting in a new scope, and just general target shooting. One night, i pulled the bolt out, turned the rifle upside down, put a foam ear plug in the end of the barrel and filled the barrel with a penitrating oil called kroil The next day, i pulled the plug and drained the oil into a paper cup. All sorts of copper came out. Several patches also came out with a ton of copper. Now, did that copper effect accuracy? Not really sure, i never put the rifle in a vise to properly bench test it before or after. I can hit what i want to hit with the rifle, and thats all i really care about. All im saying is that copper DOES indeed build up, and it does it relitively quick. Great video though. It seems to me that most shooters spend more time cleaning their guns than they do shooting them.
Listening to this guy talk, is like watching grass grow! AR15 was available at my LGS in the 80s, thats when i gought mine. They were everywhere in thw 90s all around Tulsa OK. Guy paints a colorful story that moves as fast as paint drying! I couldnt take it anymore.

u 9 used to do this on 1911 firearms. I was not FFL licensed but never owned the 1911 I worked on . I gave them the comfort custom accuracy and overall performance. Pro-leo.s and other fellows rely upon them
This old man is not getting that close to a white tail deer walking through the woods unless the deer are neighborhood tame deer. I was looking for the best rounds for a 30-30. This video sucks!
Everything you said on rapid fire degrading barrels makes sense. however, that's the main advantage of the AR platform. once that barrel goes i can swap another one in for 150 dollars and itl take me all of 10 mins.
