Question. Im about to graduate college with a bachelor in political science this upcoming fall of 2024 and im bilingual and i would like to join the SFAB. How do i join? Can i still go through OCS and apply for SFAB or do i have to go enlisted ?
This is probably the worst way to promote SFAB. Nobody wants to f*** with MILEs gear. Nobody…show some videos of y’all in the Philippines or training pogs how to do small unit tactics. That stuff is cool.
Ummm what was the msg talking about. I know aboit soldiers from the 98th Signal running communication systems and coordinating with allied forces before sfab was a thing. Taking credit from those who done it already.
The shit Special Forces actually does but because female attrition rate was high after they got caught giving alternate events and 2 passed bht arent on teams SFAB was created. Same footprint as Special Forces except SF training is more intense and longer.
Check out this video explaining our history and how we ASLA conventional forces across the globe. Security Force Assistance Brigades (SFAB) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xk0rst_MMHw.html
@@armysfabs this was already going on they just brought it down to a single bridge oppose to multiple bridge units. You don't go into foreign territories to train an oppressed group to rise agaisnt governments that are tyrannical. I understand the concept and it saves money but to say there's a selection aspect undermines what SF actually does.
SFABs are part of a U.S. Army security force assistance (SFA) triad which also includes U.S. Army Special Forces and and the National Guard State Partnership programs. All three contribute to SFA with their own unique focus areas.
I was doing this when it didn't have a name... We were doing it with nothing but whatever was in your kitbag, experience, and ruck. Had nothing to do with Milley. We were doing it even before he was a fart in the car. We were doing fine until Milley put his hands all over it and started putting in his scummy little lackeys... Now- Buyer beware. You sign up for this, make sure you have a good will wrote up, and have all your affairs in order.. All it is now is an Ego stroke. We were doing fine until Milley put his hands all over it and started putting in his scummy little lackeys... I still think this is a joke after Big Army got ahold of it, then they fucked it all up, because as soon as they turned it into the ego stroke that it is was the minute they put joes in danger for no other reason then for Big Army to play Special Forces.
SF lite. They needed more FID teams during the GWOT because the ODAs (that normally do FID) were doing DA missions. Now that we aren't in war we will see it fizzle out.

CSM Chris Gunn was the first BSM for the SFABs former Ranger. He was the epitome of the professional noncommissioned officer. I’m not sure what became of him but, if he was able to impart any of himself into this organization, they will do great things.
The SFAB concept actually makes sense. SF should be linking up and leading local "partisans" in actual direct action combat operations, not just training them.
I get it but why try and make the comparison to SOF or even bring them up like they're trying to compete but "not compete " with SOF? Their mission set sounds like glorified middle school teachers to some and elementary school to others nations. They're not ever going to become MAC-V. Also some of the speakers are a turn off to the program to me.
It's a complimentary roll to the SOF mission set, not the same mission set. And it gets brought up because people still have a misconception about SFABs and their relationship to SOF.
That might have been some people's mentality in 2018-2019 when the Brigades were being stood up. But not a single person I've worked with since being in the unit in 2022 acts or thinks we're SF or SOF. People talk a lot of shit about something they clearly don't understand or know enough about.
another special unit that was not needed. a waste. right up there with band, drill teams, MPs. SFAC? I guess if you cannot have enough HIGH quality SF you take the Q course drop out give them a crap color beret. Milley? what a closet communist asset
Generally none, but in my personal experience we usually have an interpreter if needed. Whether that's through an English speaker from the unit we're training, or something else coordinated with the embassy
