You should wet the filter down before you add the coffee. Dump out the water, then add your coffee and begin to pour over.

When using paper filters It is necessary to fold the side of the seam.

The best way is to wet the filter down before you add the coffee and pour. You’ll find that it will drain faster.

Thank you for doing this. Coming to NC from VA (voted America's Best State Parks) I was really disappointed with NC State Parks. Of course, there have been some improvements in the last few years. So I would like to see the improvements

Just a head up for anyone considering buying one of these stoves, you’ll be paying a massive up-charge if you get one of these, it’s absurd they would go for anymore than a few bucks. It’s just Vermiculite, commonly used as a welding surface, and even if bought as a welding block and not raw material will only run you $20 or $30 bucks for a 24” by 24” block(or thereabouts) You can also cut it using wood saws and tools, very easily, there’s absolutely no reason these stoves should cost as much as they do, you can literally make them with nearly zero skill and the bare minimum of tools. A Fancy Feast can with holes punched in the side might be a harder build, lol, all anyone needs to do is cut a small circle, or square, or anything they want, out of a block of Vermiculite and you have your stove, it’s that simple and should never cost $40 bucks. In conclusion you have a couple jerks taking a couple bucks worth of material, and a couple minutes of their time to make a novel, inefficient stove which they then pawn off on unsuspecting customers who don’t realize what they’re actually purchasing.

It may be overpriced, but let's be real here: people are not paying for the materials alone. People are paying for all the time this manufacturer spent on building a unique business, promoting it, and creating a fulfillment system, fulfilling those orders, and providing customer service. Just like any business. And furthermore, none of us would have heard of this idea if he hadn't created that little niche business and promoted it and fulfilled the products that were ordered, shipping them off to thousands of people and reviewers on RU-vid until it finally hit our awareness. With all that said, thanks for all the tips on how we can make it at home, cheaply! My one bit of advice to people though, is when you make your tablets, make them the same height as the originals, and always use two stacked on top of one another because that provides the proper ratio to produce the balance of heat in the original design

Thanks for mentioning the Clorox . That puts me out of renting a cabin. I cannot breathe that.😢Air freshener just adds to the mix and will not help me.
