How was the drone compared to stock? I've heard the touring edition eliminates the drone completely compared to the stock. Curious to know how track comapres.
@@touxiong9830 it's definitely loud and the drone is definitely there. I would recommend the touring edition for daily and it'll still be loud and no drone.
I picked up the Noble Titanium. It's pretty much the same exact exhaust. Just not blued everywhere. Just the tip. Also, sounds exactly the same and slightly more than 10 lbs. Love the sound. Way better than the axle back I had (no mufflers) I get my Perrin intake and Cobb AP in a few days. Cant wait to slap those on with a Dmann tune
widebody looks cool but stock body looks great as well. I'd prefer to keep it stock body. I bought the car keeping in mind how small it is making it easy to bark and maneuver in traffic. Also a widebody just adds more weight to the car
I'm getting the dual Tomei Type D, similar format but with resonator. I can't find much information concerning sound levels for all the exhaust systems out there, including stock. If anyone out there has the Tomei dual exhaust, how much louder is it compared to stock?
sadly I don't have the answer to your question but I hope you find it with oakos automotive. Look at the comments to your exhaust from a video of theirs with the type D
@@Ar1zonaGreenTea thanks for the reply. It's all going to be 'loud', I'm interested in the tone Tomei Expreme type D make. Lower bass is less annoying and this exhaust system appears to have little to no drone. Also comes with silencers.
I was planning on doing that but then I saw that the stock piece is more towards the foggy mat look and the ones i have are clear lenses. Not sure if you've seen them in person to know what I mean.
Personally, after 5 years I'm indifferent about my AWE Touring exhaust. The slip joints leak and it sounds like a prop aircraft most of the time....only thing I don't like about the AFD is the unnecessary bluing/colorizarion of the Ti
Funny because the slip joints for the AWE were leaking for me non stop no matter what I did. Even replaced the brackets and still no solution. If it weren't for that, I might have chosen to stick with it but got tired of it. But to each as our own with our experiences and differences.
Do not make the same mistake I did before, make sure you tighten the collar adapter before attaching the knob otherwise they’ll stay together and you can’t swap with other adapters and use in other cars if you want to
@@MrArhjayy I would try to readjust the clamps and the piping here and there until you find the right position for them. Sadly I couldn't fix that problem at all so I resold it. Some say you can add exhaust sealer but I'm not a fan of that incase I wanted to change an exhaust which I did.

An accident has occurred so I no longer have the car but what are your options? While I owned this exhaust, it was really bassy when it came to the tone and drone. It's not loud like the AWE.
It has been doing me fine. It's loud when it needs to be but not super loud. More towards the deeper end which I prefer. BUT there's times when I miss having the AWE if I only had the touring edition for no drone since I daily drive it but it sucked having it during the cold weather due to cold starts

The car is supposed to be noisy. It's 31k and 2850 lbs. I see people complaining about the road noise and I just laugh. The BRZ is not a 100k Porsche. 😂
Where do you place your phone during your drive? After daily driving for quite a bit, anything that you find annoying with the BRZ? I’m waiting for unit to be delivered by the dealer, and wanted to just be ready for the long term. Also, any comments as a passenger on a long drive?
I no longer have the brz, but from what I remember. On the left side of the vent, it would rattle quite a few times. I really loved that car on stock suspension over the HKS(even on the lowest and softest setting). If its just you with a quite of few things. You'll be fine when it comes to trips. My partner didn't like the space (5'5 is her height). Especially when her son was behind her. He didn't mind it but in dew times when he gets older, he'll grow out from that spot. Other than that, it's a beautiful fun car to have!
The RTV overapplication issue has nothing to do with the handful of people who have ruined an engine at the track. Your fellow YT '900BRZ' has documented an oil starvation issue on high G right hand turns over 6k RPM [ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4Jk5WTWoqt4.html] You can relax knowing the average BRZ/GR86 owner is never going to have a problem driving hard on the street.
That auto-x footage really showed off what these things can do. Best review I've found for the Hipermax S (in English). Bummer you ditched the BRZ but definitely appreciate the video!
I've been thinking of that tbh. By loosing up the switch at the bottom of the catch can. I won't know until I check regularly. Will check after a track or autoX day and every 1k miles to get an idea how much it fills up.
