Hi, I'm glad you stopped by. My RU-vid channel is devoted to showcasing the beauty of Hawaii and California (my two homes) by creating 4K drone videos with a blend of computer graphics and interesting music.
Many are captured on a Kona coast beach near Kailua-Kona, Hawaii (The Big Island) or around the San Francisco Bay Area.
Most of the videos have been captured using a DJI Phantom 3 Professional (DJI Mavic has been ordered)
For those who don't know the history: It was built for the 1939 World's Fair and was then taken over by the navy during WWII. It had been planned that after the fair it would become the city airport. A little small for jets but the Pan American Clippers took off from here to fly to the orient. It is within the city limits of San Francisco and will be developed as a residential neighborhood with ferry service to the San Francisco ferry building. Of course one can also take the bus to San Francisco. You can also bike (or walk) to the East Bay, but the western half of the San Francisco - Oakland Bay Bridge has no bike/pedestrian path so you can't get to The City that way.
Hello Chris. Great Footage.. Are you open for me to use this footage for my new listing in the area? If its for a fee I have no problem with that. Please let me know since this is exactly what I am looking for . Thank you in advance
During my 22 year Navy career, I spent a lot of those years on TI. 54 weeks of Electronics Class A School 1966-67. 48 weeks of Advanced Electronics Class B School 1968-69. Instructor Duty at Advanced Electronics Class B School 1969-73. ADCOP Program 1973-75. I lived at 1224F Bayside Dr for 7 years, 1968-75. To this day my daughter, who was born while on TI, has had health problems most likely from the buried radioactive material in the housing area.
Not enough is being said about the buried radioactive material there. In my opinion, that land can't be remediated, and the whole island should be closed to the public.
My first Navy Duty station 1982-84. I worked in Hanger 2. Sad to see the old barracks in total disrepair. My room faced the bay - it was an amazing view!
i take the bike out there every now and then...They're trying to revitalize it but it's slow going...Alot of ghetto folk, section 9 out there...Alot of those officers housing are in really bad shape...No one wants to really invest since it's so windy out there....
My name is PATRICK LEE.. We were transferred to T.I. from 1984-1988 because my dad was in the USCG. We lived in Base housing- We lived at 1247-D Exposition Drive. I was young but vividly remember so much!!! I was able to WALK to school- WALK HOME FOR LUNCH!!- and WALK BACK TO SCHOOL..(could NEVER do that nowadays-you couldn't leave campus!!) I remember riding my bike with my buddies all over T.I. I remember the Exchange, the Movie Theater, The Commissary, YBI and, I must say, I was a LOCAL LEGEND for a few years at the LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL PARK!!!...haha.. Played with the PIRATES my first 2 seasons and the PADRES after that.. Loved playing Tether Ball in the yard at PE at the Elementary School. Yes, had a ton of memories.. Thank You for baring with me as I shared some things. If anyone wants to share back, feel free to hit me back. Maybe I will reconnect wtih some old friends!!
Dear Sir, We had filmed a long interview with the famous author Isabel Allende, we would like to use 2 seconds of this video, to use it as insert, can we have your permission, please? Of course, We will mention (on-screen) your page as the source of the video. Would like to continue this discussion on emails? Please email me: mazen@dbrandria.com Thanks
Hi Chris. Reminds me of home. We are making a family documentary and was wondering if we can contact you to get permission to use 3-4 seconds of this video. How might we do that?
chris jochumson Chris, at 2:20 that looks like the Villa Madelleine (sp.). Was that the 1st unit on the right at the top of the hill? If so, it brought back some great memories: we shared that unit with some friends in June of '17. LOVE St. Croix!
I was stationed there in 86-87 when I was in the Navy. Worked in the basement of the headquarters building. It was the first building you came to when you came onboard the base. It had a huge circular driveway. CWO4, USN, Ret.
Lived on this island when it was an active military base from 1988-1995 because my Dad was stationed here. Our address was 1117A 13th Street and up until recently I still remember our old phone number, lol. I went to Elementary school here, played many baseball & soccer games, also played tennis & basketball at the gym across the street from the movie theater & exchange. My Dad was also a fire fighting instructor just down the street from the gym too. Lots of memories here.
