Hey Chris I made a loss on my TT, I used to make Audi TV commercials BTW. I tried selling it on FBMP and got lots of INSANE responses. DO NOT DO THIS. I replaced the problem TT with an awesome 350z like yours but lower milage and black leather interior. And I'm loving it. It's 2yrs older than the TT but feels newer and has higher spec all round!
Great video that mate. Nice to see you getting stuck in just you, the car and the camera. Hell of a project this one. Look forward to seeing what you do with it.
There’s a secondary soft close motor, check the lower latch section and there will be cable that runs to the side and into a motor. This motor will be seized and once replaced the soft close will activate and shut the boot to fully closed position. Hope this helps Chris.
My thoughts are if its had a wack on the rear wing that would put the boot panel out and all you can do is adjust everything the best you can it will never be perfect unless you jig it which should have been done first . Good luck great vid 👍
I had this exact issue with my facelift C class coupe. It would leave a 1cm gap when closing, turns out it was the gear motor that controls the latch which was replaced under warranty.
Latches have 2 stages half closed and closed. When you pulled the anchor in it is now only hitting the half closed. Pull the anchor down a little bit more. That’s if it doesn’t have soft close and that’s not working.
Chris always lift the front wheels off the ground to bleed the steering system. Takes the pressure off of the pump while you rotate the wheels and get the air out. Also make sure you start the process in the straight ahead position, only start turning once the system stops taking fluid as it'll bleed the final air out, and not draw any air in if you keep the fluid level up
Well done Chris - was wondering when the next instalment was going to land and it didn't disappoint. Interior looks lovely and looks like you've got some suggestions in the comments on how to sort the boot alignment. Keep it up!
Great work as always. Boot catch, as others have suggested soft close maybe. Also I had a similar issue on other latches in the past. Some latches have two positions, one to catch and second on be fully closed. Try adjusted the other way (opposite of what you tried in the video) so the latch can reach the second point. Worth a shot. Mark
