Was the anthem singer the same guy who voiced Mikey's singing voice from the Recess cartoon? Also can't believe this was 20 years ago already. Wild how time goes by.
I can't believe we actually used to have the leaders restart mid pack like this and it's even worse something like what happened at lap 347 it still took 5 more years for NASCAR to finally change it
Something else I remembered about the big wreck in this race was Ryan's interview. Jeanie: "Are you doing okay?" Ryan: "I could be better, don't you think?" Me: "Damn dude!" I agree he was a jerk, but just how savage his response was... 😆
This was my 1st cup race, I remember finding some guys Jeff Gordon hat on the ground & I held it up so he could see I found it & he told me Jeff Gordon would win this race because it was his lucky hat & I was wearing a Jeff Gordon shirt & this was Gordon's 1st win in a year. You're welcome Jeff, HMS for life
Before this race started, I figured this would appropriately mark the final time they did the silent 'Lap 3' salute for The Intimidator. Of course, they did do it again in 2011 and 2021 on the 10th and 20th anniversaries of his death respectively, and I'm sure they'll do it again at Daytona in 2031.
Back when Dale Jr was unbeatable on plate tracks. 42 drivers rolled in there knowing they barely had a chance if even. He won the damn race with a car made of half bondo. Haha.
Just stumbled across this video and thought I’d just skip it after a couple minutes but ended up watching the whole thing. This was a great video and deserves more love thank you and keep it up. :)
Since they cut Dover to 1 Race a Year they need to put it back to 500 Miles. The races I have watched that were 500 miles here at Dover was good. They need to put it back to 500 Miles.
If only we had double file restarts with the gen 4 car, i can't believe we used to restart races with 11 or more laps to go and still had lap cars starting alongside the leaders
Are You Saved? Have you received what Jesus Christ did for you? This question should receive a “Yes” or “No” answer, but it almost never does. Some of the most common responses are: I’m doing the best I can. I prayed the sinner’s prayer. I’ve made Jesus the Lord of my life. I believe in God. I’ve been baptized. I’m a church member. I keep the commandments. I am basically a good person. I walked the aisle and prayed through. I’ve always been a Christian. I’ve never done anything really bad. None of these responses properly answer the question. People give these kinds of responses because they evidently do not understand the question. The question, “Are you saved?” asks whether or not you have trusted Christ’s shed blood on the cross as payment for your sins. It is not asking about any works that you can do. The responses listed above refer to what a person does, but salvation is only offered on the basis of what Christ has already done for us. The gospel of our salvation (Eph. 1:13) is clearly stated by the apostle Paul: 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. (1 Cor. 15:3-4) The blood of Christ has purchased what we could not earn ourselves. In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: (Col. 1:14) We cannot be good enough to earn salvation because “there is none righteous” (Rom. 3:10) and “all have sinned” (Rom. 3:23). The “wages of sin is death” (Rom. 6:23). Those who die lost will spend eternity in “the lake of fire” (Rev. 20:15). In order to be saved, we must stop trusting ourselves and trust the blood payment that Christ has already made on our behalf! 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Eph. 2:8-9) Jesus Christ fully accomplished our salvation through His death, burial, and resurrection. Therefore, the free gift of salvation can only be received by faith alone in His finished work. Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: (Rom. 5:1) If you will trust Jesus Christ as your Saviour, you can enjoy “much assurance” (1 Thess. 1:5) that you are saved and on your way to heaven because Ephesians 1:13-14 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise 14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
Why did anybody even bother pitting after Joe Ruttman’s spinout since there was clearly the threat of rain? Was that a common strategy back then where teams would pit regardless of the weather situation, not caring if they were possibly going to lose track position?
If that incident between Tony Stewart and the track safety worker happened today, Tony would have been fined, put on probation, and the safety worker would have gotten a $100,000 settlement.
