As a guitar player I've wondered about what guitar amps Kooymans are using; sounds so good! Not Marshalls or Fenders. In videos from 80s he can be using Vox amps.
I feel great to belong to the Golden Earrings fans! This band has meant lots for me during the years; songs, sounds, their musicallitally, musicianship yes all of it!

I was fortunate to see the band live on this tour,May 1975 in Birmingham.Robin Trower was on the ticket that night.Both bands were outstanding.Golden Earring was absolutely incredible.
Rarely do I agree with record producers messing with the way artists had their albums organized, but in the case of Moontan the US record producers helped create one of the best albums ever recorded. The European release of Moontan had a few songs that really didn't fit well, Suzy Lunacy and Just like Vince Taylor, so they were removed and in their place Big Tree Blue Sea and Vanilla Queen were added, creating a psychedelic masterpiece.

People in the USA need to know the Dutch origin of this band which they unwittingly know, due to just Radar Love, and wildly love throughout the eras, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s ...some radio stations over here, like KLOS in Los Angeles have had the good sense and the good taste to play it between midnight and 4am on those crazed nights celestial and libido-soaked. Radar Love is an institution. This song means so much to so many people: there are couples now married and fucking their brains out in the middle of the night because of this song. It is a life onto itself.

I agree with everybody who has only great things to say about Golden Earring or moreso. Great world-class musicians. Never got their due. So sorry to hear about George's ALS. What a guitarist! Didn't know that about Cesar and The Who. I bet he stayed with GE out of loyalty to his friends too. I just bet. I find his solos more interesting than Ginger Baker's. GE together for nearly 60 years? Unbelieveable.
You are spot on about Caesar staying with GE. His band mates told him to go but ultimately he stayed with his friends. There’s not a lot of information coming out on how George is doing now.
In my 67 years, listening to non-radio hits....I believe Golden Earring is without a doubt, one of the most under-rated/mega talented bands in rock history. Criminal how they've been ignored in the USA.
Saw these guys in Frankfurt,Germany in 1973 ! They were opening for The Who ! Who’s next album had just came out.What a show it was ! Both bands kicked ass ! Tickets were 10DM (about $3.50 US at the time) The black afghan hash were smoking was 2 dollars a gram ! Damn I’m getting old ! Peace
I saw them in Seattle 1975. At the end of the show I thought the drummer broke his leg jumping over his drum kit. After watching this, maybe it was just an act.
My 70s driving song when I would go to visit my long-distance girlfriend... still think of her and those days everytime I hear this song... great band lots and lots of talent which never got 100% recognized sadly.
