So apple ripped off samsung a few years ago cause as i can recall and i will have samsung back on this one they had a watch called galaxy gear that was squared. Wait that was like 3 years before apple even dropped a watch.. o yeah my fault apple 🐑 dont think for them selfs apple is the one that tells them how to think and say things i forgot 😂.. this is why apple sheep are just a dam joke and always have been. No wonder samsung/Android users are way smarter 😊

Beware the Trail Band on the Ultra--there are several complaints/pics online about the clasp actually digging into your wrist. I'm returning mine because of that. I think I give up and will either switch to Apple for the first time in decades, or else lug my phone with me on my runs with a Garmin (I run isolated rural roads--no way am I going without a phone or Lte)

Great video guys. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra is considered a 'Cushion' design which is used in many high-end Swiss watches. The Panerai Submersible being the most recognized Italian watch. I would attach a picture if I could. I agree. I have an Apple Watch Ultra, Garmin Epix Pro 51mm and the Samsung Black Ultra with Orange strap. If Garmin would give me an Epix Pro 51mm with cellular it would be game over, but don't think that will happen any time soon. Keep up the great work!

It's funny, but I don't think it really matters if someone's copying a good design. How many traditional watches are "inspired" by old Rolex designs? It's like cars. They all start looking like each other after a while. These companies are interconnected a lot anyway. Samsung is still making a lot of Apple's components. Nice podcast

No products should be talked about in a vacuum. I'm an extremely strong believer in that. The moment you talk about products without comparing them to the market/competition, you do users a disservice. If people like us hadn't complained for half a decade that the optical HR sensor & GPS on the Samsung watches was so bad compared to their competitors, then frankly, Samsung never would have fixed it. Just like how we talked about how Apple's Training Load isn't all that great compared to their competitors, else, Apple won't fix it. (-Ray)

The Galaxy Watch Ultra is NOT certified for diving at all! It specifically says so on Samsung's own web page. Not below 1.5 meters. The 10 min 10 ATM is static pressure only. Good for swimming and diving in from the jetty, but that's about it. BTW, the squircle design isn't Apple at all! It's a cushion type case and was introduced in 2017 with the Samsung Gear Sports. Regarding not having external sensors, a mistake by Samsung in my view, but in general they want control. I also believe Samsung are in the business of selling data, and that data should come from Samsung's closed loop readings, which they then can vouch for. There are more signs of control and exclusivity as part of the Samsung mentality or corporate culture. I work out with weights. Previously Google Fit had a had rep counting built in. This is now exclusive to Samsung, and external apps are not allowed in at the sensor level so no external apps can offer this service. Meanwhile Samsung could really in a few rather easy moves, low hanging fruit, collect, analyze and, in today's speak A.I-fy the data into actionable items. They're not doing it, and neither can anyone else. Control. They may do it in the future, but for now no one else can do it. Futhermore, starting with these new watches Samsung are blocking external watch face apps that can provide far more advanced watch faces, particularly visually, but henceforth only the Samsung controlled Watch Face Format will be allowed. Again, control. Chaebols make up South Korean business practice - everything is connected, vertically integrated, and closed to outsiders. That's how they have built their industry, and perhaps this is mirrored in their approach regarding external sensors and key apps.

Honestly, it's a hard scenario for a GoPro due to low light not being it's jam. However, dropping down to 1080p is probably your best bet (1080p/30). That'll ensure you don't run into any overheating things. You can also force the ISO up a bit, which will help some. (-Ray)

Galaxy design is pretty much the Galaxy gear sport watch from years ago with circle face and cushion. This watch looks like a polished watch, not a gadget like Apple. Ultra has been used by Samsung for premium since Galaxy ultra 2020. The orange color is going to be a thing for all diving watches due to it being easier to spot under water. Aside from the color, watch straps are watch straps. Samsung was the first to popularize Smart watches 2 years before Apple had any.

@thefitfile
@thefitfile 16 дней назад
In my case, the HRV numbers are +30ms above their competitors. While Samsung could potentially be using SDNN instead of RMSSD, but that honestly wouldn't account for the massive difference (I can't find documentation yet on which method Samsung is using, but it's very likely RMSSD like everyone except Apple using SDNN). Either way, they're crazy high in comparison. Lots of potential reasons, could be the recording interval might be more smoothed, or some other reasons. (-Ray)

I'm SOOOOOOOOOOO disappointed to hear the word "disaster" in the GPS accuracy for the 7! I'm wanting a 2nd watch as an insurance policy for my aging Pixel Watch and was really hoping this would be the time Sammy got it right. I've seen lots of individual users who are claiming theirs is much better than their previous iterations, but who knows how much "testing" they've really done with it. This makes two of the three "big" wearable tech reviewers that I follow who have given it the thumbs down. Looking forward to seeing the full review of the 7, but won't be rushing to the store this week, apparently.

Over land such as MTBing or hiking all seems OK except for random incredibly high HR measurements.

Just to be clear, as Des mentioned, there are apps that can pair 3rd party sensors on WearOS devices. We're specifically talking about native-level pairing of HR sensors, to ensure what is typically the best battery/cleanest workout recording scenarios. There are of course good 3rd party apps that do good things, but that opens up an entirely different can of worms. (-Ray)

Yeah gaslighting the issue around on Price increase by saying we didn't increase our prices in the last X years is not a justification. If you want a bigger pizza, you don't go adding more toppings. You add more base. Don't punish your existing customers, grow the client base to increase revenue. @#$!@ rich guy justifying his bag... Do NOT be fooled. Zwift is a nice to have... there are other options that are free. The "social" is BS if you are using it as a training tool. It's NOT THAT great as a training tool in the first place as there are no support for HR based or RPE based training. There is no flexibility to use CP as the metric instead of FTP. Many coaches and athletes have moved away from FTP due the 'false' metrics that it creates.
