Hey Trevor, I recently got deactivated from Uber Eats for what they are calling “collision fraud”. I reached out to Uber support probably a dozen times for help, and ultimately my appeal was rejected. I finally learned about their Green light service, but at that point the Green light associate was unable to do anything for me. Here’s what happened (it’s super strange and I’m hoping to get some attention drawn to this situation): Uber eats switched to QR code payments for shop and pay orders at Safeway stores in my area. Unlike with DoorDash, this payment system offers NO backup option. Unfortunately, one of the three Safeway stores in my zone has an ongoing technical issue with accepting QR code payments of any kind (even through their own app). Along with the switch to QR code payments, orders can now only be shopped at the store listed on the assignment (this was not the case before either). So once the change took place, I began paying for these shopping orders with my own money (obviously a big risk), then immediately contacting Uber support for reimbursement, explaining that the store is unable to take QR code payments and providing a copy of the receipt. This apparently triggered the system to flag my account as committing fraud, since it was later suggested to me that Uber was not getting paid for these orders because I wasn’t using the QR code. (No idea if that’s true or not.) I obviously did not commit fraud and it’s super frustrating to me that no one in the appeal process seems to have actually looked at the transactions and compared them to the orders and noticed that I was just paying out of pocket. There are major flaws in their QR code payment system and I got deactivated for doing my best to get orders to my customers. Any ideas? Any other way to contact someone in Uber with the authority to reactivate my account?
If it is 2 dollars per mile, I might take the other. I usually take long distance order when it is not rush hour. If I can choose to drive less and earn more, I will. It is all about maximize your profit per km. The distance you have to travel back to hot spot is not counted in the app but will depreciate your car as shown in your maintenance cost. be a wiser driver together.
What's working for me is when I make a delivery to a nice area, say a Country Club area, I take notice of trash schedules (legal in my area, not in all areas. Check local laws!!!) as well as yard sales signs. Once delivery is done I spend about 10min to troll curbside trash for high ticket items and deals at yard sales. When I am done for the day I take pictures of my findings and post to apps like OfferUp, do all my bookkeeping for the day and just relax. Next day if I have a sale I deliver that and start my delivery hustle from that area and slowly move in the direction of my preferred spots. Rinse and repeat. Last month I made an extra $2k off a thx surround system some rich folks threw out when they upgraded. Storage is the downside of this side hustle.
