Hello! My name is Christine, but some of you know me as The Glambassador. I have been dressing in vintage style for over 30 years, and have been sharing my vintage journey on my blog, Chronically-Overdressed.com since 2013. I started this RU-vid channel as an extension of my blog to share vintage makeup & authentic vintage hairstyling tips. As a plus size woman, I also enjoy sharing authentic vintage fashion inspiration for the plus size and curvy women out there. I try and publish a video every Monday, to help your week start of right!
@@TheGlambassador Absolutely! I had to buy it also in the mustard colour (hufflepuff forever!)...amazing as well. I adore Emmy's brand. I discovered her thanks to you!! Merci merci merciiiii! 😊💗
Do you have any tips on how to style a watch brooch? I receieved it as a gift but I'm struggling. It's made by Croton and from the 1940's (I think), gold, ornate at the top, and dangles a bit.
What a lovey gift to receive. There really aren’t any tips, just wear it when you can/want. I have a few watch brooches and they are really special. None of mine are working pieces anymore, but I still love to wear them. I have a Bakelite nurses watch brooch which is a little more ‘plain’, and a few more fancy ones with rhinestones. And I just love them.
You mentioned that once you set the hair it will last for days. How do protect and secure the curls while you sleep (when they aren’t in pin curls), and how do you restyle those curls each morning?
Sometimes I wear a silk bonnet or headscarf, but not always. Each day I do a different style depending on how my curls are evolving. I did a video series a while back called "The Life Cycle of my Wet Set", it shows the different hair styles I do throughout the week from my weekly wet set. That might help you with some inspiration.
Thanks for sharing the process of the brushout- looking for the blue hairnet wrap. Can you share a link for it? It looks different from the hairnets on your site. Thank you!
YOU are a DOLL! I just love you so much sister! This channel is my favorite! Thanks for all your videos. I’ve been doing vintage fashions since childhood! Got laughed at at school but kept going. I love seeing that there are others out there who are old souls! You are very beautiful and appreciated! ♥️♥️♥️♥️🍁
I went to a local hairdresser & asked for a pageboy. I asked her if she knew it…that it’s a U-cut. She said yes & I showed how much to cut off. “No problem”. I could have 1 very thin, wispy layer, slight taper in front in 1 layer. Towards the end, she used scissors to razor cut a bazillion layers. My U is a few inches longer and is disconnected from the rest of my hair & looks like a pull tab.
