Unleashed was an amazing game joe, also you can save the zones in sonic cd by going to the past and destroying the things causing the bad stuff in the future
Nah man, sonic cd is better then sonic 2. In my opinion: The soundtrack is the biggest and best amongst all classic sonic games. The level design is fire, you should explore and time travel anytime you can to have fun with it. Don't collect time stones, always time travel. Try playing acts like this: present -> past -> destroy generator -> present -> good future -> end the act. Instead of looking at the springs and bouncy things like an obstacle or something to help you go forward, start looking at it as an opportunity to time travel. When you time travel, don't stop moving. Bossfights are okey, I think metal sonic bossfight is a bit overrated. You should admire the change of asthetic when you time travel, bc it really captures the atmosphere the zone has and you probably don't give it much attention. As you said, intro and outro animation is a banger. I think gameplay wise sonic 2 is a biiiiit better, but sonic cd is better in everything else compared to sonic 2. Sonic CD might not be the best sonic game or even the best classic sonic game, but it is definitely a reeeally good one.

Dark age will always be my favorite era. Almost everything in those games is great or perfect. Characterization CGI cutscenes STYLE Story Writing Dialogues Character Models Even Graphics were outstanding for it's time and Unleashed is like the best looking sonic game ever. Gameplay? Well, it might not be consistently great, but it isn't bad except like secret rings. I had fun with Shadow 05 a lot, unleashed combat isn't bad at all and those boost stages are total bangers, 06 can be fun with around half of those characters and bugs can be sometimes even fun. Sure, bugs shouldn't be good, but we are talking about sonic 06 right now, people even say that the game is so bad it's good. Black knight is pretty fun from what I can tell, huge improvement over secret rings and it's very cool. Like attacking with a sword while being super fast is just so cool. And dark age wasn't only about those mainline games. Everyone in the sonic community talks about how riders and zero gravity are the coolest thing in the entire sonic series. From what I heard from other sonic fans, those games are super fun. Sonic Rush is also a banger and sonic rush adventure is great as well. When you ask sonic fans what is their most favorite moment in the sonic franchise, they most of times post a shot from unleashed opening cutscene, the sonic 06 cgi cutscenes, black knight, secret rings, riders opening etc. They talk about dark age. Only few games like Sa1, sa2, sonic cd or sometimes the opening of colors are often brought up. You got one of the most badass quotes from this era: "I determine my own destiny,, "If the world chooses to become, I'll fight like I always have,, "Merline, every... ,, you know the drill. etc. Even if this era was as bad as people said in the past, then when you look at other eras, they have even more misses they hits compared to dark age. Classic Era has some not very loved sonic games from the game gear and master system stuff. Growing Pain days has Knuckles Chaotix which not many people say it's good, you get your Sonic blast and 3D blast in your pocket and a mid sonic labyrinth game. Adventure Era has only 4 console games. Sonic Shuffle is a mario party rip off as many people said multiple times. Sonic Heroes is a controversial one, for me it's a mid game. The non-console games like the sonic x games on some outdated website are bad and many other puzzle sonic games are just a generic puzzle games. Meta Era - Sonic Boom rise of lyric is trash, other sonic boom games are mid, Sonic Colors is not really liked thesedays as it used to be and sonic forces is in my opinion mid. All of those games are bad or mid in everything except in gameplay when it comes to Generations and Lost World. The only exception is sonic mania which lacks originality on the other side of things. Anniversary game? Okey, then at least give it some new interesting story like you did in s3k. Sonic Gens and Mania are great games in gameplay, but I feel so bad for liking them when they are mid at everything except the gameplay and graphics. Reborn Era - This era only started. It's on pretty good start but it still isn't quote cool or even fun as those games in the dark age. Murder of sonic the hedgehog is sadly just a one time playthrough thing, Sonic Frontiers is quite boring or extremly mid, I only had a great time in the final horizon cyberspace stages which mostly were so frustrating on the first playthrough and the final bosses are just mash the buttons to attack or hold parry on the hard mode. The Master King trail sucked real bad, Pariah perfectly described it why. Superstars most sonic fans consider mid or just as a failed "sequil,, to sonic mania. I don't think frontiers is bad at all, it is pretty good, but they need to learn more on how to make a good open world sonic game.
Sorry How bad are you at Classic sonic, As someone who played sonic back in the 1991 Sonic Generations felt Just like the old days and it was like i was playing the classic games again, i feel that Modern Sonic was really the weakest link here his stages where over WAYYYYYY to fast. And it felt like they thought "just give'em boost and that all we have to think about" and don't get me wrong i really liked Modern sonic. But It was no way near as good as classic Sonic's gameplay that felt like a TON of effort and love went in to that. And the fact that you don't get that and can't do it is shocking, I mean when you where talking those loops and hills. You need to Build Up speed. That's One of the fundamentals of Classic Sonic's Gameplay, and that was there ONE Job and they did it perfectly felt like old time. just cos you play badly is not the games fault its yours. And the seeing how bad you are here is the tell tail sign that "SOMEONE" is too used to playing as Modern Sonic. Lemme guess Your first sonic game was Sonic Adventure 2 or Heroes, and when it came to the classic gameplay you couldn't handle it in any way shape or form. So instead of Thinking what most people think " ahhh dag I really need to get better at this" your ego was like "Nah not me playing Badly It must be The Game make sense to my limited intelligence" I mean the fact that They made classic Sonic's Gameplay feel like you where playing the classic sonic games again after all these years, Just goes to Tell me that you couldn't do those classic Sonic Games, Wonder what your excuse would be for that, Lemme Guess, Your next lines is "Its the Games fault Not mine" Thats the One. For God Sakes man Grow Up. the fact that you can't do somehting does not make vanilla or Bad and the fact that you need a mod to do this, just tells me you need to try harder and face the fact that your not good at Classic Sonic. Sonic 2 is harder and more satisfying to beat than Sonic 3&Knuckles. Some love 3&Knuckles more because it’s easier and because it’s easier you could go fast in so many parts of the game and there’s nothing wrong with that.
Classic sonics original physics were just fine. Levels were designed in a way that you never needed to use roll at all, making it overall useless in this game. The spin dash was a nice addition, so that he doesn’t just feel like slow modern sonic. My only problem was the jump, but it never felt like a huge hinderance
the good thing is that if you only want some of the new features of the mod you can remove what you don't want and activate what you want from the mod settings in the mod loader I personally like the Classic Sonic from Generations but this mod is fantastic since I tried this mod I didn't want to remove it from my list there are other mods that can be considered essential mostly the Direct3D ones and those graphic fixes and maybe the one that makes the Red Rings reappear like in Sonic Colors
I instantly knew quick cyclop was a reference to the blue tornado move in Sonic heros, same with phantom rushed being referenced to team blast. I use to play Sonic hero's all the time so I definitely recognized the moves when Frontiers was first showcased.
