hi Marisa. curious as I am in Australia & currently trying to decide wether to study the IDI Certificate course ($900AUD) vs the Diploma ($2900AUD) . It is largely for myself and projects we personally want to embark on ... and then to help friends perhaps and see if it grows from there. wondering if the certificate supplemented with relevant advanced modules may be sufficient. Just thought id ask yourself . thx in advance
Hey! What you're describing is what I did. However I did some work with family and friends before taking the course. Once I did the course I did some further work for friends before launching my interior design business. By then the portfolio was robust and my website showcased versatility and outlined my design services. For me that worked. Everyone needs to determine if the Diploma in Interior Design that IDI provides is suitable for their goals or if a college course is more suitable. What you're talking about sounds so similar to my journey that of course I'd say go with IDI. And the advanced modules can supplement it even further. I hope that's helpful! (If you go with IDI don't forget to use my link for $200 off!)
Appreciate the video! Which brand did you use for the battery powered light sconces? I’ve tried a few different kinds but I find that the battery always depletes within an hour or so, making it impractical from a functional perspective. Would love to find something that actually holds a charge for at least a week
Here’s a link to the ones I bought. One is in my home the other in my office. They aren’t turned on daily - maybe 2-3 times a week for a few hours each. So far they haven’t dimmed or shown signs of dying. rstyle.me/+FLguA5k3ksFsNZYXKULmJQ
Also in Canada, please share what organizations recognize this program. I wanted to find out if it was a legitimate program, and it is not recognized by CIDA, from what I can gather anyway.
You’ll have to research your Province requirement. For some, if you work with a licensed designer or architect for a certain number of hours you can take the governing body’s exam to become a licensed interior designer. It’s different from place to place though.
have you tried a vent cover? They sticks with magnets and blowes air to middle of room. im with you on counter depth fridge too, I got one, I say its 12 eggs short. you can only fit a dozen in it.
I'd been to many private hospitals here in many states of Malaysia.. the Southern, Mahkota, SJMC, SMC, Asia Columbia, etc. ... either in my own health issues or some friends or relatives but never Gleneagles. They're all excellent. Good to hear your review. Obviously, the alertness and preparedness in your husband is is such a fortune. Lucky you 😊
This is really helpful. We’ve chosen antique bronze hardware for our cabinets but we’re thinking about a gunmetal sink and matching tap as our appliances will all be a gun metal. Still not quite sure what to do but your video helps.
I made an outdoor games room. We purchased a second hand shop fridge. It's been great for catering....so for those entertaining king's n queens...it's been a must. Didn't cost a lot either....less than a new home fridge
You are sooooooo spot on!! I thought my shorts days were over at 56. But why? Ridiculous. I'm buying me some darn shorts!! And be a lot more comfortable this summer when it's in the 90s!
@@iamloved Absolutely! I have a friend who refuses to wear a swimsuit in public. I’m not willing to limit my life because I don’t look perfect! We need to live life to the full!

My master bedroom is a Jack and Jill style connected to my now 10 year old daughter (no privacy!). It is an attic with one very small closet. The ceiling is low too. I have a 6 drawer dresser and my husband has a vertical dresser. We are only using one of two night stands to hold a t.v. across from the bed. My husband's side is mostly against a window so no night stand for him. My side is next to an alcove that I use to hang my 10 year old's clothes on a tension rod (she has no closet) along with a metal set of drawers to store sheets. Lighting really stinks in this room. Aside from affording to dormer the rooms, can you please suggest maybe bedroom furniture that might help such a tight space? Thank you!
Sounds like a tight squeeze. The most practical and affordable solution is to ensure you're utilizing small-scale furniture. I don't necessarily mean a small sized bed, as much as a low to the ground bed frame and smaller side tables. By utilizing smaller items you will create more "breathing space" in the room, creating a more open-feeling space. It's the illusion of more space. Try looking at apartment sized furniture as a starting point. The proportions are generally designed for smaller spaces. Hope this helps!
I’d love to know how you would design my bedroom. It’s 93-1/2”x122”, 9’ ceiling height. 1 off center window facing west. Low light. Small closet but can fit everything there if needed. Door opens in to face window. If live to fit at least a double bed. Ideas? Anyone?
Small scale furniture - but prioritize your bed since you spend hours of your life sleeping 😉 Less is more approach - maybe one large art piece over the bed to make a focal point. Create balance and symmetry with coordinating side tables and try to add a large full length mirror in there somewhere. It’ll brighten the space and make it feel more spacious. I hope this helps!
@@iamloved I especially love the tip for prioritizing bed!!!! I had thought about getting a mirror to reflect light but now I’m definitely getting a large one! Thank you so much for your advice! (I already have a small side table I plan on using). (I haven’t started decorating cause I can’t decide on paint colors! I wanted a dark moody room but I’m afraid I’d be too dark!)
Hello, I have an L shape kitchen ( with an island) and my stove is closer to the corner where there is no cabinet on the side wall. I have the recommended minimum counter working space between the stove and the side wall. I am concerned there could be cooking splashes on that side wall. Should I continue the tiles onto the side wall only for the space between the countertop and upper cabinet for the depth of the counter top or should I tile the entire height of the side wall ? Thanks for your tip, really appreciate it.
That really depends on your personal taste. I’m a fan of tiling the whole wall in that space. It can be a lovely accent. Maybe hang a small piece of art or something partway up the wall to showcase the decorative aspect of it. Hope that’s helpful!
hiii, i have a question. I`m also planning on going to malaysia with our pet next month. A question how did you manage to do the booking with the animal quarantine station yourself? i`ve been trying it but they say that we need a malaysian number, And if i may ask how much did you pay for the quarantine?
Ooo I don’t recall how much the quarantine was. Around $500 USD if I recall. I used what’s app and reached out them that way. It was a pain but it somehow all came together. Good luck!
