hi Marisa. curious as I am in Australia & currently trying to decide wether to study the IDI Certificate course ($900AUD) vs the Diploma ($2900AUD) . It is largely for myself and projects we personally want to embark on ... and then to help friends perhaps and see if it grows from there. wondering if the certificate supplemented with relevant advanced modules may be sufficient. Just thought id ask yourself . thx in advance

Hey! What you're describing is what I did. However I did some work with family and friends before taking the course. Once I did the course I did some further work for friends before launching my interior design business. By then the portfolio was robust and my website showcased versatility and outlined my design services. For me that worked. Everyone needs to determine if the Diploma in Interior Design that IDI provides is suitable for their goals or if a college course is more suitable. What you're talking about sounds so similar to my journey that of course I'd say go with IDI. And the advanced modules can supplement it even further. I hope that's helpful!
