Can 2 PR’s be in a push-pull confirmation (on opposite sides of the enclosure), or should they both be mounted on the same side of the cabinet with each other? Thanx! Great video. Your new subscriber!
Love Buckey amps, but I wish they would have left out the Amir tests, the credibility when down in my opinion because in certain cases Amir is so far off the mark as far as "if it tests the same then it sounds the same".
Do you have a step by step process that goes over how to pick, compare, test a combination of a set of speakers that includes the same process for DIY'ing the three way cross-over ?
Came here to learn something about centre speaker, and then I just sit back and enjoyed the craftsmanship of this beautiful solid cherry wood box. Masterclass! So satisfying to watch!
You're right about high sensitivity. I'm using Bill Fitzmaurice Omnitop 12 (which take some padding with the 28 band EQ) and they scream the place down with an SMSL SA98E. Even the amplifier in a pringles can speaker get them more than loud enough. The bass woofers I have complementing them need more power to get loud but that's expected. They can still pump pretty hard off the SMSL - loud enough for my landlord's girlfriend to ask me to turn it down from over the road. I do miss having the Peavey IPR1600 hooked up, especially now I have the subwoofers in their loudest position - downfiring into the floor (8 inch gap) in the front left corner.
I make a lot of MDF boxes for various applications, by far this is the only video that speak about issues that pop due to joints peeping out of paint. Happy. Very happy. Please delight me with more and even better solutions for this problem. Very very thankful to you on this.
Hi was looking for a sound bar This one you reviewed looks a good choice I've a question though When using the sound bar Can you also get aound theough the television speakers as well or are they not needed Thanks
Fortunately late vehicles of Citroen C1 came with a head unit that supports android auto/carplay. It's plug and play. So i just had to buy the most recent head unit. And everything worked. But this equipment is a great finding indeed!
I do think that a subwoofer crossed over below 80 Hz dont need braces. There is no frequency in that range that if the panel is made of good quality MDF of adaquate thickness, you won't be able to hear any panel resonance. Full range speakers probably need bracing as those resonances will fall in the range of hearing where our ears are sensitive to the resonance. Bare in mind, some manufacturers have engineered the cabinet resonances to compliment the drivers response characteristics & may sound worse without the cabinet resonance though those are probably few & far between as it takes good talent to do that effectively. Now days drivers are often pretty well controlled in thier output asuming good low or non resonant cabinet design.
I had a brainwave earlier on today, looking at speakers for my system I ascertained that I got more chance of winning the lottery than acquiring the said speakers I was looking at, so I thought I’d build a nice pair as I’m pretty handy with tools ,, researching prices of kits, drivers x over schematics I’m residing to the fact that I’m sticking with my Jamo e870 floorstanders.😂😂😂
I’m loving my K1 as my first ever outdoor budget projector. Using it with a Firestick and get all your streaming services. Only thing I’m trying to figure out is how to get an easy speaker setup to it. I suppose I could use BT but there already is a very minor audio delay with the built in speakers while streaming. So I’m afraid BT will be much worse and would prefer a wired speaker option. Would the headset port work for a speaker?
really great video but for woofers of brands other than Dayton on partsexpress the frequency response just has one black line, so how do I determine dispersion, crossover points and all that? please help
Why do you call mH mega henrys when its milli henrys. Its always u for micro, small m for milli and capital M for Mega same for all things electronic, micro, milli and mega. u,m,M even bits and Bytes follows the same smalls and caps convention, but service provider marketing bods get this muddled intentionally to make their systems seem faster than their competitors.
Hey Nick, nice video. But I have a bit of an overlap of experience coming from years of Car Audio. I'm a 25 hz port Tuning and even lower tunings kinda guy (low and windy :D ) and finally want to build my own 2.1 home system for moderate music listening, but LOTS of headroom for DEEP and clear bass. I feel like going with a 15 inch ported OR... 10 inch quarter wave transmission line. I have lots of space for that. Any thoughts on this? I would need a chassis with an Fs around 28 hz, I reckon. Greetings from Germany! PS: I currently run a B2 HN15 in a 5 ft³ net vented box tuned to 25 hertz on .5 ohms at around 4 kilowatts, of course that's way too extreme for home use, but on low volumes it sounds AMAZING. I want that but less violent, lol.
They can be hard to find. I’m actually working on a new version that uses different drivers. It actually has the ability to be placed horizontal or vertical.
i want to pair the tangband w5 subwoofer with the epique 150 radiator. it seeems to have the double volume displacement. but whatever i try in winisd i cant get an f3 of 32hz like i have in my ported setup... can anybody help?
I think your build is not that good thats why you're not satisfied and talking about another build for the center............always missing something...you have a good drivers selection but your box design and build is very poor.
You can think whatever you want. It’s an uneducated statement using flawed logic. If you really cared about how they sounded, you would look to see who has built them and what they think. In fact, DIY HYFY built them recently and gave his thoughts. There’s also plenty of builds on the forum. But feel free to make uneducated statements.
