Now, for once i AGREE with all the commenters. Magnus has opened up recognition of climbing- artificial as well as adventure to many people in less exci9ting exercise forms. I had thought he was doing extremely well financially, just yesterday observing his jetting to Tokyo AND to San Diego, to meet with a famed youtube calistnenics practitioner for a rather goofy but fun video. While competition climbing is highly interesting, the nature of life and living is both adventure AND strong attachment and the consequent discipline that drives excellence. (I did love sailing in my teens, but NEVER long passages, as they took me away from more physical pursuits and the discipline required to perform well. Windsurfing, acrobatic sailing with body strength is more attractive, and in large breaking waves, more energy-intensive and exciting. In fact, MANY big wall climbers took that adjunct, cross-training sport up. ) Creative people experience what psychology calls "Atypical Salience", - things to which most are not excited, attracted to, aroused by - including fear arousal, but that research is still incipient, and going down some errant avenues. I have abhorred competition since earliest life, running just fast enough to defeat competitors in school. Surfing , my passion, was destroyed in my eyes by competition. Ballet, a most precision art, in which i was involved professionally, (until exploring intense cross-training to severely damage self), is another art, like climbing involving supportive, collaborative, positively valenced appreciation for others, best requiring strong musical training, another obviously creative art, even for those who interpret pieces. Something about Magnus rejected serious competition, an instinctive or gut discontent. In my view, one should ALWAYS pursue Unalloyed obsessions and joys, following what feel to be pure motivations. Too much psych and other informing exploration occurs to evaluate the ALWAYS-unique other individual, and every living organism , ever, is, has been, will be, unique. This induces our exuberant appreciation , ans Magnus follows his impulses marvelously, as we ALL should! Life is an unique adventure, and you EACH are amazing, because following uncharted trails.
He's like the Tony Hawk of climbing. Not because he was so famous but because, like Tony he brought climbing into the mainstream. He became it's face for many people and introduced them to people like Adam etc.
As long as Magnus continues to genuinely enjoy himself, and shares with us in his passionate and humble way, we won't grow tired. (And he takes off his shirt once in a while 🤭)

he is not for sure infuencer in these days meanings. He is documentarist 100 %. he does influence people arround the world but only in good ways. His skills, love to craft and humbleness is beautiful.
Well I still do not LIKE Magnus, since he is not sympathetic to me. There is too much "psychopath mass murderer"- vibe going on, for MY perception. Also ... since he did those "heeeheee I am dressing up as someone TOTALLY else and do beginner classes heeeheee"-RU-vidr-Bull$ I kinda lost most of my, already scarce, respect for him.
I’m not a climber, but I enjoy watching and really really enjoy the outdoors and backpacking. I’m from Southern Norway 🇳🇴 myself… and I love your content! I wish I had more experience climbing, but only been hiking and backpacking around Norway, like the Setesdalsheiene Mountains, Dovre, Rondane and Jotunheimen.
Funny, but I feel you completely missed the point of the show. It's just to get a more candid interview, so they set up a little adventure, with cameramen along the route. Works great for a hollywood actor who hasn't left LA, but falls a little flat with someone like Alex Honnold. But it's about the interviews, not so much the adventure.
Haters they will come and they will go. Don’t let deplorable people rob you of something you love. These people they see no value no good in their own lives and thrive on tearing down others. Just follow the course and those who like you for you will weather out the storm and those that meant nothing will be blown away. Don’t worry about them. Just be a good man and follow your passion
the rules are shit. The game means you can just try something impossible and give everyone a letter. You could just fail upwards. I fix this by allowing the opponent to finish a failed set to remove a letter. If you can send what someone failed, you remove a letter. If you cant, no consequence. So for players sending a failed route, you can attempt the route to remove a letter or you can just save energy for your route.
