Are you sick and tired of speed training aids not increasing your distance. Or are you tired of your speed training tool speed gains not translating and carrying over into your driver? Well we were too, which is why we created the Speed Toad!
The Speed Toad is a patent pending trainer, perfect for all ages and levels of golfers that want to lower scores while increasing distance. Don't let your nervous system hold you back anymore! Designed to improve your specific driver shaft and swing, watch the RU-vid Video below to learn more how it works.

I think you are understating benefit of Speed Toad having less force on the body and shaft. The centripetal force is Fc = mv^2/r Fortunately, you can largely ignore the mass of the shaft and grip (and arms) which are moving slower and are the same for driver vs toad. We can also ignore conversions and units since they are the same on both sides. Radius stays the same as well. (0.14)(Vt^2)/r = (0.195)(100^2)/r Vt = 118 mph with a 140g Toad to have the same force as a 195g driver at 100mph. As far as the 245mph record: 245 / 1.5 = 163 mph club Relative force (163/100)^2 = 2.67x of a 100mph swing. The head has 2.67 times the energy as well (0.5mV^2). I will do all the math you want for the next video in exchange for a Toad. 🧮😁
This is a great and interesting way to look at it! We'll have to dig deeper on centripetal force, since we were simply looking at force applied to the golf ball in each swing/weight, great thinking!
You bending your right arm as you pull aqay and into the backswing its causing abow in the plane and the result likly is inconsistency in terms of dispertion trajecotry and comprensión which likly is more a steep approach into the strike. A bit trappy as opposed to comprensión.
@@TheSpeedToad one day the penny will drop. Should try listening more and speaking less. Because you have some setup amd fundamental issues.. you are needing ro bend early to get the club back its why you get so steep and over coming down. Its why your ballstriking is so inconsistent. Its like your locked out of your path back. Because your shoulders are left and so the arms collaps to get up amd then you steep throw oved down with lots of adjustments to get back to the ball.
Once per week is more of a maintenance mode (ie during peak golfing season if you're golfing often). You will still see some gains at once per week, but will see more speed gains at twice per week. We don't get into 3x per week until Level 3 in our program because it takes quite a bit of stamina build up to reach this level of frequency while still recovering enough between sessions.
I use a 175g head for speed training as well as my regular driver. 630N vs 620N is a percent and a half...not a major injury concern, just not a speed benefit. More wt can help you feel the head and improve your sequence, but agree with chance of recruiting the wrong muscles. I am sure Speed Toad protocol would work for about anyone. 245mph is super human. What is the peak force during that?
Ya know, I've never been on force plates so I'm not sure. Force into the ball would be the weight of my driver x the speed, in that fancy Newtons calculation formula
@@nedgermany Very exciting! Well it depends on the scenario, but for this example, if your step forward drill is faster than your regular swing, it shows you aren't utilizing your front side effectively in your regular swing because once we activate it with the step forward drill, your speeds increase. Let us know how your first session goes! Thanks for your support
We’re obviously biased, but it’s always better to speed train with your own driver shaft vs a super stiff shaft that RYP sells. Two completely different swings, your driver shaft vs the shaft RYP has on their product
So true! It's surprising just how "slow" and deliberate the transition at the top has to be for a well sequenced swing. Thanks for watching/commenting!
Appreciate this video. I got the speed toad for my junior golfer daughter. I'm unsure as to how her regular practice and tournament play affects the speed training recovery. Is it ok for her to speed train twice a week while she's doing practice and tournaments five days a week?
Glad this helped, thank you for your support! We suggest that there's at least one day before and after your speed sessions and tournament rounds. You want to make sure your body has recovered post tournament before your next speed session, but also to make sure you give yourself at least one day of recovery after a speed session before your next tournament round. Practice wise, we always suggest doing your Speed Toad session at the end of your practice day, so once you finish your Speed Toad work, you're done for the day. Hope that helps, please follow up with any other questions!
Also, I just noticed when you take your club away you stand up a little bit. I don’t think you’re very consistent. I can’t see how you can be consistent swinging like that.
I’m sorry this is a terrible way to teach people especially if they got a smooth, relaxing swing. For the average golfer, we try so hard to get them to relax not put any tension in their swing and yet you’re teaching them to swing as hard as they can. I’m sorry but I don’t think this is good advice for the average golfer. Maybe when you’ve been playing for five years and you have your swing rotation down good but if they don’t get the rotation down good and they’re trying to hit the fence create a lot of bad habits, grip hard, casting you name it.
Speed training is actually a great way to teach new and experienced golfers better tempo and sequencing. By definition, a faster swing is a better sequenced swing. You’ll see as golfers go through our speed training protocols with their own driver shaft, their timing, sequencing, and accuracy improves significantly. Smooth is fast
Practice pressing the gas on your car the previous day before you drive. One simple step. Lift your foot up and down multiple times the day before you drive your car and your foot mechanics will make your car elevate its speed the following day. You’re welcome. I’m. A. Genius!
@@AtChrris well, this is the Speed Toad RU-vid channel, so many/most of our tips will revolve around using the Speed Toad :) If you have space to swing a golf club, you have space to speed train with the Speed Toad
Great question! You’ll see too much dispersion on the course and/or your launch conditions won’t be where you would like them (ie too much spin on your ball, but that could also be caused by too much loft on your driver head). A professional fitter would be able to measure all of this 👍
We actually are a big fan of single arm swings with an empty shaft. This really gets your fast twitch muscles moving and lets us know which side needs improvement. But obviously this won’t help us with timing and loading the shaft due to there not being any weight on the end.
Don't forget, included with the Speed Toad is the Speed Toad app. The app is your personal speed trainer, with the training regimen built by the longest hitters in the world, designed for all levels of golfers!
Great question, most golfers will see a slight drop between their dry driver speeds, and speeds on the course because you're prioritizing hitting the ball down the middle of the fairway (as you should). But what happens is as your dry driver speeds go up, your on course driver will follow as well.
It is so difficult to tell the difference between a hard effort swing and an actually faster swing!! So important for the brain to make those connections when seeing one swing is actually faster than the other. Must have for speed training
So obviously buying the Speed Toad is the move, but if someone already owns the Superspeed sticks, you'd say ditch the red and swing the green and blue?
To be totally honest this is what we would do, in this order of preference 1. See how much you can get on eBay for the speed sticks then use that $ to buy a Speed Toad 2. If that isn’t an option, I would ditch the red stick. I would also replace the blue stick with your actual driver. The blue stick is so close in weight to a real driver, you’re better off training with your driver than a stick that requires way different timing than your driver. Then I’d weigh your green stick to make sure it’s at least 45 grams lighter than your driver. If it is, train with it as an underweight/overspeed option. If it is closer in weight than 45 grams I wouldn’t train with it at all and simply train with your driver (if you can’t afford buying a Speed Toad). I hope that helps and makes sense! -Bryce
Hi Great question, that will vary greatly depending on the golfer. Coordination levels vary greatly which causes a large range. The closer you can get the opposite swing speed to your regular swing speed, the faster your regular golf swing will get as well!
Thank you for your support! Good question, and nope all colors are the same weight. We now only sell a blue speed toad to eliminate the worry some people had about different weights, but rest assured all speed toads weigh 140 grams.
@@PaulAdam-f7g Thank you, it sure has helped a lot of people gain speed! With the same shaft, your Speed Toad swing and dry driver swing should be 7 mph apart (speed toad being faster)
