While I really like my F3/T, and it is beautiful, I prefer to carry and shoot my Olympus OM-2S, OM-3, or OM-4T. My favorite is my OM-3T, but I am too self-conscious about it due to cost. The OM cameras are smaller and lighter. Great video.
@@adammissedfocus could be. I often also shoot in automatic mode😅 but I’ve never experienced it either in automatic or manual mode. But I’ve never used Portra 400 so far to be fair. Just 800. I was just wondering since higher ISO usually means higher grain. But maybe it’s also just in the video :)
I frequently have the opposite issue, I lug around up to 5 cameras thinking I can test them out. My best trips are just two cameras, one I know well, know is reliable, and one for fun or experiment.
Yea I used to do the same. Later I got to the point where I realised carrying all that gear and not knowing which to shoot took away the fun for me a bit. Two is my go to.
I like the shots that captured blue sky with puffy white clouds contrasted with off-white masonry and green grass: it just looks like Spring, cool and inviting.
I wouldn't wear black on a hot day, but being from Texas, low 90's in August is unseasonably cool for me. Actually, to your south, near Zagan, the weather has been remarkably cooler than last year, and way better than 2020. The rain keeps messing with the lighting though. Yesterday, I loaded up with some 100 speed film in a few cameras I am function testing, but by the afternoon it was cloudy, dark, and a little rain. When I called it quits, the sun came out. 😅 Great video, some nice shots. Agreed, Ektar is very good the last one.
Yea that happens alot in Poznań too. That’s why I try to avoid low iso film stocks, just in case the weather decides to change 😅 Glad you enjoyed the video!
The Yashica has lately been my go to again. It’s a great camera. I completely forgot about it at the moment of shooting that there is the sports mode. That would’ve helped.
You're in Poland? First, great video. I love photo walks like these. Second, I tried P30, but not P33. I ordered some from Freestyle Photo, maybe next week it will arrive. Your video just reinforces my desire to try it. Finally, I'm also in Poland, near Zagan, South of Zielona Gora. Where do you buy and develop film in Poland? I've tried a few labs in Poland.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video. Yea, I do live in Poland. I develop and scan all of my film in Poznań at MicroLab. I usually order from fotoimpex or order from Bratex etc. I need to try the P30. Haven’t had the chance, but P33 is one of my favourite black and white filmstocks.
i actually like the photo at 5:16 reminds me of some good documentary photography. That building wont be there forever, nthe photo on the other hand will.
i'm still new to photography (and still new to composition) but even your 'bad' photos looked good to me - this was very informative and cool photos! keep it up!
Loved that final shot when I saw it on Instagram and it looked even better on the tv screen. Only used Ektar once before on 35mm but I might give it a go on 120 after watching this!
Hi Adam, nice video and nice work, too! Have you tried holding your Yashica above your head and looking at the finder from below? For me, that's one great benefit of the waist-level finders (one I discovered rather late) - you're not only able to get pretty low views, you can also get nice overviews. Still no eye-level and you are probably going to look a liiiiitle bit weird to other people. Cheers!
Thank you for watching! Glad you enjoyed the video. I have tried that once. I felt awkward and stopped, But I definitely need to practice it and start using it like that from time to time.
85B filter is all that's needed to balance out tungsten film in daylight or fluorescent lighting. It also adds a bit of contrast, and more character than most daylight balanced film. There's a reason filmmakers preferred it.
Re: loading the M6... it is much easier than the cameras before it... one nice design detail is that there is a mechanism on the base plate to automatically align the film when the camera is closed. Don't overthink it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bN9lSfKovzY.html
Note: The classic M6's light meter is not easy to repair. The parts are no longer made. There is talk that Leica is working on a replacement light meter but nothing solid yet.
Nikon F3 is indeed a great camera! Never had trouble with under or over exposure. But to tell the truth, I am also the fan of Olympus Om-4T. Another masterpiece of that time. Which one to chose? Better to have both!
Really like this format :)))) Your self depricating makes me sad!! Doesnt always come off as humourous to me just like ur being hard on yourself :c Your vids are good and you take great photos ❤️🔥
Thank you! That really means a lot and I am glad you enjoy the format. Sorry about that. Being more positive with my work is definitely something I am trying to get better at.
@@adammissedfocus haha no need to apologise everyone is working through things, just wanted to let you know that you don't need to be hard on yourself, you're doing great work :)
Yes, warming filter (or at least light orange one for BW films) would definitely help with colour balance of 800T during the day time. And yes, colour film photography is getting too expensive. I shoot colour (on film) only for fun here and there or if I gotta test a new camera...
I think there is a defect in some f 3 that cause it to kill battery’s fast. when they are expensive as they are it might be worth it to get one from somewhere that has a warranty in case you get one such model.
Interesting. I did not know that. Luckily I haven’t been having that issue. I think the battery in the video was just a faulty one. Always recommend getting gear from a place that has warranties.
Good video man! Love that the Leica R8 is getting some love. One thing though, your videos feel a lot like Grainy Days. Keep grinding! I’m excited to see how you develop your video style
Agreed. All the zoom point and shoots I’ve tried sucked at zooming. A good rule of thumb is to have your shutter speed higher or equal to your focal length to avoid blurry photos, but sadly we can’t set the shutter speed ourselves and that’s why we get blurry photos. Well at least that’s my theory.
When you hold it in your hand you immediately recognize its unique and a beauty! And then put one of these incredible lenses on it, and it gets even better….
