If you are into the freezing dark weather arriving replete with rain and snow that lasts for at least four months out of every year; and, you are willing to pay totally obscene prices for a house then Portland Maine is definitely for you. But, if they only needed to sell this house to people who already live there and understood what living there really means then you wouldn't be reading this either! What is not going to be going over very far is when the whitest state in the country has to deal with a brown flood from the Northern Border either!
The Realtor missed an important point. This is a Resident Owned Coop. Very different ownership model. The Residents on the park not investors. I drove through to the park in October 23. Yes it is a mobile park but very nice.

Wow, who’s the lucky guy that wants to spend close to $600,000 for an old home with a tiny kitchen; a home where the entire interior needs to be gutted and redone (lots more money); where looking at milky white “Mandy” it must be located in an area where you have less than month and a half to enjoy that beach and work on your suntan. Mandy Wheeler knowingly falsified multiple documents when she sold me a multi-unit I purchased in 2021 saying it had a “brand new roof.” However, it was not even remotely a new roof. It was found to be was illegal in the city of South Portland/the state of Maine as it had FOUR layers of shingles and was dangerous to leave on the building. The new roof that I actually installed (once discovered, after damage) cost me over $20,000. I took the seller, Sophie Dougher, to court for an additional $10,000 where I successfully won a settlement, but Mandy has *avoided* TWO sherrifs and a court-ordered subpoena. My lawyer stated, “I don’t know how a broker can’t be located or puts down an abandoned building as her place of business, but here we are. Incredibly, not one but two separate sheriff’s deputies could not serve her in time. This is my 23rd year of practice; I have never seen a licensed professional able to dodge service for so long.” In my experience, Mandy’s business is beyond illegal, she has zero ethics, and she is now under investigation with the Maine Real Estate commission due to my filing. I have been dealing with this silently for years and I am DONE. I am a single mom, a lifelong Mainer, and a business owner. Mandy, hope Portland doesn't get smashed too much from the hurricane. This remodeled bungalow is 'as built' style from the 1940's, fine if you like that. I would have opened up those bedrooms by knocking out a wall or two, made a bigger bathroom and had bedrooms you can put a chair into for changing clothes instead of the bed. But I know, real estate agents and banks don't like reducing the bedroom numbers.
