I think this is the best part of Goldeneye. The thing about James Bond is, after a while it gets a bit cliche: there's bond with a girl at the end of the mission, there's a bad guy who gets beaten, there's goons who get beaten, there a few fun gadgets, there's allies who mostly survive, there's some insanely melodramatic evil plan Bond foils, but here we see Bond showing that he can have a serious enemy who he simply chooses not to kill at the end of the mission, showing a soft side to the normally VERY vengeful bond we see in the earlier movies. Craig's my favourite Bond because he was no where near as gadget dependent, no where near as over-the-top, no where near as infallible, no where near as full of cliches as the other Bonds.
Strangling the cat. This is Arina , My mistress. Very talented girl. Arina........ go for a hike. I want you to do me a favour. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 He wants me to do him a favour.😊
Notice at 1:22 how Zukovsky, after holstering his gun, still keeps a hand on it. That's what a professional would have done when around another professional, no matter how outnumbered the latter might have been. Brilliant attention to detail. One of the best Bond movies ever
It's a Funeral Parlor weapons deal at 4pm. I wondered the same thing for decades but the following conversation in Valentine's office confirmed it's a weapons deal with explosives hidden inside a Coffin transported by a hearse. The exchange for a money deal That will make Valentine all of the money. Kind of dumb that Bond didn't just lead with that instead of risking getting shot in his manhood... But that's just the James Bond ego.
I heard that song on the radio today and this scene instantly sprang to mind. Weird coincidence how this scene ended up in my recommendations this evening.
I heard that Coltrane said this was one of the most boring g jobs he’s done, probably because it’s such a short time on screen but he was fantastic in these brief scenes.
I'm curious about the history behind the whole British betraying the Cosaks thing. If they surrendered in Austria, for them to be "sent back to Stalin" would imply that unlike actual nazi soldiers when the war ended who were mostly just told to go home, the Allies held all of them and facilitated transportation back to Russia. Also, that's assuming we were dealing with soldiers, according Zukoski they were civilians. I didn't think the Allied Armies could hold civilians as POWs internment camps in the US not withstanding).
James Bond shot Valentin Zukovsky in the knee, stole his car, and stole his girl, and still didn't fuck him over nearly as badly as Clive Rosfield fucked over Hugo Kupka in Final Fantasy XVI.
When a scene is this funny and well done the first thing I always wonder about is how much fun they had shooting it. Brosnan and Coltrane must've been cracking up a lot when they read the script and when they shot it.
Absolutely I would consider that a assault even though she was just coming to her child's defense. But still Mrs jumbo beating up Smitty is well considered as putting Smitty being in immense danger. And us humans don't take that lightly and not to kindly to that either.
