“We all live in a yellow submarine, yellow submarine, yellow submarine.” Sorry but once I saw the shirt, I couldn’t stop singing the song throughout the video. Love the shirt and thanks for the update!
I can remember back in the 70's in a place called Rhyl in North Wales the ladybugs as you call them were all over the houses and pavements, there were 10's of thousands of them, nowadays you are surprised to see even one.
Think these types of videos are my favourite, good job Post! Also, out of all of your crazy shirts you wear, I did not expect to see you wear a shirt with The Beatles on it. They're from my home town! 😊🇬🇧
Wow, all the different rock formations were awesome - never seen anything quite like it. Would love to visit the US one day, you guys have such a variety of terrain. Nice video post!
Maybe what you can do with the wires that get stuck under the grass. Is to put some conduit the grass can grow over. So when you are going to take them out during the winter you don't have to worry about breaking the wire. You could run a small string attached to the wire to pull through the conduit. So in the spring you can re-feed the wire back through. (But just a suggestion.)
Hey there Post! Are the ladybugs actual natives, or invasive type? The spots are different. The native are very beneficial, and can be overwintered in a paperbag in an unheated area or refrigerator and released in spring. My ladybugs wanted to eat us one year we were inundated with them a couple decades ago. Edit: Oh yeah, feed the chickids!
I am seriously considering making a frog pond in my yard. I really like how you built yours. I also want a natural place for my squirrels and birds to drink. I love how natural yours is.
maybe vacuum up the lady bugs and take them outside far away from your house. like in the woods. Cute little critters but that's a bit much. I had issues with some small beetle bugs one year they were on my elm tree so every day i vacuumed them up and the chickens enjoyed them for a snack.
We had a 🐞 infestation in my city. Apparently it was a different species and were more of a pest. When I took in my welcome sign, so many were hiding in the grooves.
I love your appreciation of nature, ponds left to nature are awesome, always something interesting going on. Send your ladybugs to Florida, we have too many aphids on everything. I re-introduced 10,000 ladybugs to my property a few years ago and the aphid problems went away, but the tree frogs and anoles, ate most of them, but I still see a few flying around. Thanks for your videos, they inspire me to do more projects.
As a fellow Mainer you may be dealing with Asian Lady Beetles and not so much a Ladybug problem. They look almost exactly the same as Ladybugs. Asian Lady Beetles - Can Bite, Harmful to pets like dogs, they secrete a yellow fluid with bad odor, they can invade homes. They are invasive, The way to tell them apart from Ladybugs is the Asian Lady Beetles have an (M) shaped white mark on the black facing their heads. VS Ladybugs - Harmless to humans and pets, good for the environment, controls garden pests, they typically stay outdoors and won’t invade your house. Not invasive, They don’t have the (M) shaped white mark.
@@post10Vlogs Mine still were looking for protein and chomping on whatever they landed on. I didn't mess with them except to gather so maybe I didn't smell their whiffs!
I had large cactus and they liked being put outside during the warmer months of the year. We would move them back inside when it was winter. Then after a few months inside, these ladybugs showed up. We stopped doing that and got rid of the cactus.
I hear you on the slime. I filter our city water and the inside of the filter gets choked with dark green slimy algae. I have no idea why. There is a water treatment facility here so you’d think the algae wouldn’t be an issue but it is. If I didn’t know better I’d swear I was drinking well water. You have such a paradise there. I know it takes a lot of work to maintain it but imo it’s worth it. Your place is beautiful! 🙂
