•💟• Time to see a lawyer about several things, such as contagious mental illness & head games and unreasonable levels of toxic stress burdening your child (and many others), which has life long consequences to their health, capabilities & stability. The imagination of the teacher is just evil, with them wanting to outsmart a young child with nonsensical riddles and head games that are NOT ACCURATE OR TRUE ! The teacher is attempting to be superior and win against a child.....there are so many things deeply and fundamentally wrong with this entire situation. Time to pray for patience & for the children, go to a school board meeting, contact every other parent in your area for supportive reactions, and most importantly......be certain to teach your child properly. I appreciate the short YT video for the sake of informing others rather than for sympathy, but PLEASE make time to locate a much more qualified & educated consultant, perhaps a competant professor, accountant, specialist in their field or even an author, or scientist or someone with a physics background, heck even a doctor could back you up,..... someone to back up the voice of sanity and reason. Is there anything more important than raising them to be mentally healthy & capable with discernment and a full range of functional skills? And for them to have good values, to know they are cared for and for them to be prepared for adulthood in a few short years? May GOD give you strength and guidance for the tasks ahead of you. You could draw a rectangle that is 3" high and mark it off at 2". Then you could draw a rectangle that is 6" high and mark it off at 4". The fractions may be equivalent, but the amount or size of the respective quantities are not equivalent.
I think its because its 2 x 2/3 = 4/6 So it is equivalent...no doubt. 2/3 = 4/6 In simplest terms... If theres only a total of 3....you cannot break it down further Its 6 boxes 4 filled in...top row of 3 Bottom row of 3..... Cant make a total of 3...into 6 tho Without splitting whole numbers pretty sure I dunno how a teacher expects a 3rd grader to draw...it Other than the 6 boxes 4 filled in...in two rows of 3...to describe it Dunno how much verbal explanations usually arent required as part of a math numerical problem tho Please excuse...been awhile since I was doing maths in school...lol Theres a good book out by Richard Bannon? Called TEACHING EXCELLENCE! Draw six items and put them in groups of two draw three items and then show that it is 2 for 1 even though they are equivalent maybe the other ones cannot be split into
It’s said standard schools were designed so there would be more competent factory workers and not for individual independence…the people have given away everything but there souls to our trusted leaders and turned many blind eyes without enough answers…the bells are drawing closer and closer every day so be mindful of the games you and yours participate in
So its a TRICK question to see if the kids actually deeply understand the fraction as it applies to everyday stuff. Like a confidence check. Still...if the teacher doesnt make sure every student goes home understanding what this question MEANS to ask and not just read it for what it is which clearly teacher did not then i agree with most. Dumb.
I hate these kind of questions, they are playing with words not math... well if you want to play with words LETS PLAY these are fractions... the answer you get from fractions is usually not the same anyway(that is why there were made) so your question is invalid...They dont just deserve a pay cut, they need a new career...
As many others have said, you missed the most crucial point of his video. His conscience wouldn't allow him to continue performing expensive surgeries that were, most often, giving people only short-term relief, if any. I cured myself of 20 years of chronic pain thanks to the works of Dr John E. Sarno and Dr Lorimer Mosely. Knowledge of my true cause of pain took away the *fear* that I was structurally damaged, which in turn brought my body's alarm system back to ~normal and calmed my sensitive nerves. I've been 90% pain-free for several years now.
It could be possibly that you weren’t in class when the teacher explained why. When we compare 2/3 of a cup to 4/6 of a gallon we can understand they are not equivalent amounts.
I made my son read Euclids Elements. I think it's incredibly stupid to not teach geometry using the most consistently used/praised book on it to ever exist. Just because something is old doesn't make it worth less. It means it's been proven to be worth more. 😁 (It's damn sure better than common core. "Common core: teaching children to be stupid and stay stupid.")
The answer is pretty simple. If I cut a pizza into 3 slices I only get to eat two slices, but if I cut it in to 6 slices now ai get to have 4 slices of pizza! Sure it’s the same amount of pizza, but this way ai get more slices yay
What maybe what they mean is that 1/3 is a larger base unit than 1/6. So, the base units aren't equivalent. Therefore, it takes 4 of the 1/6 to equal 2 of the 1/3. Best I can imagine.
It’s because it’s different if they are representing an amount of something instead of a percentage or decimal. Fractions also represent ratios and can be used to show an amount out of a total like your grade is written 90/100 and its 90% 90 points out of 100 and its 9/10th of the total points but it isn’t 9 out of 10 points. its also It’s worded that way to trick people probably to see who was listening to everything but people also forget especially if you’re a teacher that isn’t captivating when you’re teaching. you can have 2 out of 3 of something and 4 out of 6 of something like 2 / 3 circles and 4 / 6 triangles. They have equivalent ratios and arithmetically they are equivalent but in certain practical situations they can be different. You would have 67% of all circles and triangles collected but u would have 2 out of 3 circles and 4 out of 6 triangles. Or if u think about shares of a company u can have 4 out of 6 shares which is 2/3rds of the shares but u still have 4 shares out of the total 6 and u are also a majority shareholder. If u have 2 circles u also have 4 half circles or 8 qtr circles which is where those equivalents come into play.
Which sites and resources are considered reputable to increase a lay person’s understanding of certain medical conditions or interpreting radiology findings on various scans? I’m trying to learn more about age related white matter in brain, but what I am finding doesn’t speak on it in terms of how much is considered normal evolution of aging and at what age.
This is a terrible question with undefined implications. Mathematically 2/3 = 4/6 ALWAYS. They didn't ask "Explain why 2/3 of a gallon is not 4/6 of a quart"
Absolutely stupid. That would be like saying 90% is always equivent to 9/10. Then saying 90% a cup isn't equivalent to 9/10 of a pound. They are. They're both 90%. When you start talking about the things that percent (or fraction) actually composes, you're no longer talking about a number and are instead talking about physical objects and their compositions. Like, we walked out of the math classroom and into the science classroom.
Yes, please teach our kids to be morons. 2/3's of anything is the same as 4/6ths of the same thing. China don't want your kids smart. Home school your kids folks.
The basis of math is numbers don’t lie. In regards to fractions, one whole is equivalent to 1. Or in other words 1=1. Which can be written in different ways. i.e. 2/3 = 4/6. If that was the ANSWER the teacher was looking for, than what was missing from the question was CONTEXT. Example: “Explain how 2/3 of one vessel is not always equivalent to 4/6 of another vessel.” That is not a math question, that is a logic question. 2/3 has always and will always equal 4/6. This is infuriating.
Yeah, I had to ask a teacher why, after my kid got all the right answers on homework, but came home with a 40%. it was because she didn't use the correct procedure to solve the problems.
I said it was a trick question. Of course, the volume of two different containers, even with equivalent fractions, will not be the same because the volumes can't be the same. They left out this fact. Trick question. It wasn't the way I suspected but it was a trick. lol
