Those contained in Calvinist, Reformed Theology. That Calvinist theology, that is without love. That Calvinist theology, that has a form of godliness, but rejects the power thereof.
I respectfully suggest Sir, that you read the Bible, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and not as calibrated with man-made, false doctrines. God is Spirit and those who worship him, must do so in Spirit and in Truth. Legalist, false doctrines, such as Calvinism, are not spiritually edifying. Beware of the leven of the Pharases.

This guy is nothing more than religious. Arminianism is heresy like it or not. Apparently, a guy that teaches history does not know of the Council of Orange? Semi Pelagianism IS heresy. We are not "freewill" beings. We are dead in trespasses and sins and there is none who seeks for God. If God does not open the heart then that soul will never see the Kingdom of God. The guy spoke nothing of justification and imputation.
How could we ever be saved without the Fathers election and our Lords work? The older I get the more my sins are revealed to me by the spirit and the more and more I fall at the feet of our Triune God and praise him for his love in election so I would live to enjoy him as my savior.

Why is the most common objection these days not addressed? That is, that he choose Christ as the vessel for salvation - meaning that all those who are saved, have "jumped on board" the ship of salvation i.e. the "ship" or "means" (those who trust and therefore are "in Christ") have entered the means chosen before the foundation of the world. I suppose its a corporate election.
It was probably merciful Weeks didn't try documenting his various claims, otherwise the slipperiness of his positions (and how much of the relevant data he'd overlooked) would have been harder to conceal.
My thought is, we wouldn't necessarily be reading any of those other books if some competing version of "Christianity" won out. My thinking is that they would not have had the Divine staying power that the version that won the day had (even with its flaws and controversies). Would the Gnostics have endured the Roman persecutions as heartily as the other groups of Christians? If they didn't have true spiritual life, I highly doubt it. If Gnostic Christianity won the day it would be just another religion in the pantheon of religions at that time. It probably would have been subsumed by the emperor cult and disappeared entirely. There is every good reason to believe that what survived was meant by God to survive. The proof is in the fruit. But we may have to wait until the end to see what was really true. But I have to think that the Gospel we have today is the true Gospel - it has life-changing power. The others didn't, and don't. I think the fact that the writings of these other groups did not survive is testament enough of their ultimate worth. Maybe they were objects of purges, or attempted purges, as were the writings of what we call Scripture today. But for whatever reason, those writings did not survive, or their peculiar beliefs did not make the cut, so to speak.

I find it very hard in my family when my daughter came out and is now a “lesbian” and is now engaged She was raised in a Christian home, we love the Lord….she said she was born this way……. It has devastated our family and rocked our world….we don’t know how to proceed……..
There 's something really afraid is the fact We don't know the circle of influence especially her closest Friends, i'm Christian and i was worked and apple store that is litteraly a place fully of lesbians and gays, you Can raise your children in the faith but outside she has Bad influence and some of them try to influence but i'm still battle to be Christian and they don't get it. As a parent in faith that will cause pain and misunderstood but she 's an adult and you Can only Hope and Pray for her, keep talking to her but Never surrender on her ideology. Don't be mad on her but don't leave church for her a lot of parents leave church when one of our kids become lesbian or gay. Keep going to involve in your christianity and don't loose faith
