add as nr 10, car is vibrating. very annoying. as dutch driver i only have 3 complaints. 1 car is vibrating, they already change my behind axel and new tires but its not solved 2 the navigation in dutch isn't working so im unable to use voice commands. no fix , mg says use your phone.. wtf .. 3 airco temps, i set mine on 27-28c. it just suks, 27is cold, 28 is to hot. and the airflow is crap. driving a mg4 thropy ex ed. but why are mg4 vibration so much anyone?

It's interesting that she talks about the so-called weird angle of the steering wheel while she's showing just how much it can be changed from almost vertical to much flatter. No idea what she's talking about with that. For a tiny person like her, the seats may not be too comfortable because she probably slides around all the time but for those of us who are a regular size, the seating is superb. I will agree with her about the 'My Citroen' app. They should have used a grown-up to code it. As for reliability, I think we all know about that. Mine hadn't worked for four or five months until three days ago and during a half-hour journey all I got was the noise form my phone with all the data updates when it finally connected. Then today, despite my phone and the infotainment screen showing them to be paired and connected, the mileage didn't change on my phone at all following a 20 mile run! None of these things will prevent me from replacing my C4 with a C4X in a couple of years.

Are there any specifics you disagree with? I admit I really don't like this car. Now the app hasn't worked again for two days, so you can't run the car's air conditioning from your phone in this heat, and they still have that silly 50% charge limit to turn it on! So even if the app worked....

I have had shine plus model on lease for 18 months and done about 11k - use it for short trips ( grandchildren on school run etc) . We have a VW Passat which is used for longer journeys. My experience is very good. It's supremely comfortable and ideal in terms of size /range ( having a home charger obviously helps). Very reliable - not had a single problem with it. There are some very minor irritations but it compares very well with similar priced cars ( you get what you pay for I suppose). Personally I would do away with split rear window and replace with a rear wiper.. Overall as a second car used almost wholly for trips off less than 20 miles I'm very happy with it.

My twin motor plus is garbage. Dangerous garbage. 1-It randomly slams on the brakes sometimes. 2-Randomly dumps power sometimes. 3-Low guard won’t stay on when car is locked. 4-Bluetooth is patchy. 5-Cruise control keeps speed 1-2 mph higher than set. 6-Driver wing mirror fold gave up. Stoneacre Volvo Newcastle said they can’t find a fault except point 2. Volvo UK have offered no solutions and asked Stoneacre to simply hand the car back to me. Surely the first two faults are pretty dangerous? Apparently not risky enough for Volvo to take the car back. My prediction is that there will be some big fatalities in these cars. I will not be driving mine when it returns to my driveway.

Great video, thanks. Here are some comments about your statements, from a EV6 2024 owner:The navigation and buttons are much better in the EV6 than in the Tesla. The 2024 EV6 has both wireless apple CarPlay and wireless android auto. The 2024 EV6 has got the same software as the ev9 new! The huge Tesla booth is due to the fact that it looks like an inflated frog. About the Tesla only rely on cameras instead of real sensors is because it's cheaper to build and just work things out in software.

Hi, my review wasn't about the current model, but it sure took them a while to introduce wireless Android Auto/Apple Carplay didn't it? That should have been there from the start. Imo Tesla has taken the best approach, improving every day, they are just building a supercomputer that will give us robotaxis and fully autonomous driving. Already the FSD Beta results are utterly scifi. At Kia, they seem to be pretending it doesn't exist. I worry that the car is just outdated at this point and won't be able to do anything extra in 2 years. Tesla will be a completely different place by then. I still don't have a Tesla myself, but I feel like it won't be much longer before I do.

Hi Tony, my videos don't reflect any personal dislike of the EX30, I collect information from owner discussion forums and summarize the information for my viewers who may have similar issues or who may be considering purchasing an EX30, to keep them informed. Tesla is in the market since many years and they had a lot of time to improve their software step by step. As far as I know they had problems at the beginning as well. EX30 is in the market since a few months. So let us give Volvo a few months and updates to improve the software. Otherwise I do not feel the comparison is fair.

You're right, but Volvo/Polestar has had Android Automotive for a long time and they really should have forgiven themselves such schoolboy mistakes. It looks like the cars aren't being tested.

By the way the 349 Euro Wifi charger, is not wifi, it's a browser page and not an app, you can only use it while standing near the car / charger, not from a distance, so why is it called Wifi? Also if you park in basement, good luck using the browser page for it. Hello everyone - this company is a real fraud, they will not tell you that the order will cost customs and clearance fees (not included in price), they will not provide you any customer service, in the event you need to return the charger, they will take many weeks, even months to provide a refund. The customer service person, there is only one FANNY, is extremely rude. If this does not make sense to you, please try to find who is the CEO / Founder of this company, there will be no information on the internet about the existence of the company, so if it disappears, good luck to you. Also see their website, no information about the management or service of the company. Save yourself some time, money and ugly discussions by going to reputed brands like #Blaupaunkt for example.

I'm sorry to hear you've had such a bad experience. I've had only good experiences with Daolar as well as the two chargers I have from them, I use them all the time. The applicable customs and clearance fees are mentioned on their website ("Customers purchasing from countries served will incur the associated customs duties or import taxes. These charges are not included in the final purchase price. Import duties or taxes will be invoiced to you directly from DHL or your designated import broker. We recommend that you contact your local customs authorities to determine the landed cost price prior to completing your purchase."), so I don't see much of an issue there. Of course I don't know what your particular issue with your product is or how the customer service is handling it, so I can't speak to that, but I'm sorry if you've had a bad experience. I do hope you're able to get it resolved 🤞🏻

WHAT YOU CANNOT CHANGE IS - HOW THE COMPANY TREATED ME AND HOW I FELT; so not sure if you are a company representative or a paid RU-vid reputation manager, your comment does not change my experience even one bit so try this somewhere else.

Here in Italy the EX30 is working very well indeed. 10 days with an EX30 Core Single Motor sw 1.4, everything is going fine! The only bug I found so far is Google Assistant not understanding the destination name for WhatsApp messages (sms is ok) under vocal dictation... Annoying but not a big issue. Consumption around 20kWh/100km on mostly highway paths, down to 13.4-15 in urban environment with very soft one pedal drive. Very fast recharge in DC (it has the LFP battery and I've seen a 136kW) and stable 11kW in AC (up to 94% then went down to 8kW). 5G/LTE almost present (but my mobile phone had very low signal when the car was offline). Google maps always working. This is my short experience.

I know tthis is old but if anybody sees this, our one of these is broken, it wont let us pull in the safety handle all the way. Battery is fully charged. Any ideas?

Hi, that sucks that it broke.. considering the low price (just around 50 Euro on sale in CZ) I'd assume it's best to just buy a new one. Trying to repair it would probably end up being more costly with uncertain results🤷🏻‍♀️ Best of luck!

I had no issue with delivery. I received my order in 7 weeks instead of the promised 10 weeks. They are selling the cars alright. Also, 0 problems with the 1.4 software.

Looking forward for the update. The car drives great, love the interior but the I am shocked how the software is so behind Tesla’s (never wanted one, but I have to admit that they are way ahead vs Google). Simple things annoy me deeply: the fact that simple settings such as the distance of the self driving module resets every time, that the internet not connects directly to the phone (I wish the car had an eSIM), the AC don’t stay on when I leave the car for shopping (this feature does just not work), the app is not available in the GCC and of course the car opening features. Tiny annoying things. From your video, I understand that the AC is weak due to the software configuration. Unbelievable. Leaving in a very hot country, having a GCC spec car, this should have been taken into consideration.

Volvo have responded on the official group: "We are aware of the issue with Waze being blocked while driving. All apps are classified into two groups : those allowed to be used while driving and those not allowed to be used while driving. Waze should always be allowed to be used and this will therefore be corrected in the next update. In the meantime we hope that Google maps will support you equally good in finding your way." here's a pretty interesting solution from the Volvo EX30 Community Worldwide Facebook group: "David Jones I experimented with Waze again today. Set it for Sainsbury's whilst in P then reversed in the drive and it was working all the way there, as I've come to expect. I purposely parked facing outwards so I could set off forwards on my return, and I got the "unavailable" message. So I stopped, cancelled Waze, reinput Home, reversed a couple of metres and then set out for home with Waze working all the way. Here's when I got to Sainsbury's." I hope this helps you at least a little!

Thanks for sharing your perspective, @yupescumuk! It's great to hear you're happy with your EX30. While I respect your view, I'd like to point out that without Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, you're probably missing out on reading messages from apps like WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram, Discord, or Signal while in the car. Tesla faces the same issue. Personally, I wouldn't give up this functionality just because a car manufacturer can't implement it. Renault and Polestar have shown how well Android Automotive can work alongside Android Auto / Apple CarPlay. I'm curious - how do you handle messaging while driving? And have you encountered any of the software issues others have mentioned, or has it been smooth sailing for you? It's always valuable to hear different experiences. Keep us posted on how it goes with your EX30!

@@siasek personally I avoid messaging while driving as it's too distracting (even with voice controls); therefore I'm okay by not having this functionality and don't consider it to be an 'issue'. The only sw glitches I experienced after collecting my car was the 6v default charging setting and the radio cutting out while braking (I use streaming 100% of the time anyhow so that wasn't an issue). Never had a problem with the internet connectivity, key fob/proximity locking or unlocking, etc.

I've had my EX30 since mid April and am perfectly happy with it...any SW related issues that impacted me all resolved so not a single complaint overall. I love how the car is built, drives, and handles and am happy with my choice. I don't care about Carplay either.

In my EX30 with 1.4 charging and charging settings are working as expected as well as Radio, … seems only a few cars have those problems but not all of them but nobody has any idea why

Why do you need Apple Car Play in a car which has all needed software and apps build in already like Google Maps, Spotify, RU-vid, Web Browser, wether, … And some of those apps are connected to the car software so eg Google Maps is able to calculate loading stops directly

While it's true that the EX30 comes with many useful apps, CarPlay and Android Auto offer some advantages: Familiarity: Some users prefer interfaces they already know. App variety: Access to a wider range of apps, including messaging apps like WhatsApp or Telegram. Regular updates: Phone apps often update more frequently than car software. Personalization: Your phone's setup carries over to the car. That said, it's great that the EX30's built-in system works well for you, especially with features like integrated charging stop calculations in Google Maps. How do you handle messaging while driving?

@@LxStPW Can you refer me to a specific section of the law? I think in Germany, like in the Czech Republic, it is forbidden to hold/use a phone in your hand while driving. This is not the case with Android Auto / Apple CarPlay, which addresses everything hands-free.

@@siasek you are right, it’s forbidden to hold the mobile in the hand while driving. So managing messages on the main display of the car while driving should be allowed. Anyway, I feel it’s not necessary and too dangerous and messages can wait until I take a break. So better to say: I do not need Car Play. Maybe other need it. And Volvo promised it from the beginning and it’s still not implemented. That’s strange.

You're right, @sargfowler9603! It's frustrating that some EV makers skip CarPlay/Android Auto. The biggest miss? Probably easy access to messaging apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, or Signal while driving. That's a key feature for many of us.

mine suffers from phantom acceleration and also whilst one pedal driving is engaged the car on random occasions just takes off. Also, RU-vid is playable while the car is in drive, the car as I type is sat at the dealership with video evidence of my shortcomings. this I believe is deemed dangerous and the wife will not drive the vehicle due to how our downhill driveway leads directly onto a busy main road. As well as this again with photo evidence, the home screen button vanished and the audio menu on many occasions just randomly disappears and you can't access and controls to alter volumes and equaliser settings, courtesy lights have a tendency of working when they want to and the same goes for the proximity sensor, which is very hit and miss. I am hopeful Volvo can rectify the most dangerous of these issues as well as the rest but the problem lies is i currently reside outside of the UK but in Cyprus where in general vehicles are not taken back, this I have been informed from Volvo UK who advised I take it up with Volvo of Limassol as they told me it has nothing to do with Volvo UK but are totally aware of my current situation with the vehicle. currently on version 1.4

Wow @nickpanteli, that's a lot of serious issues you're dealing with. The phantom acceleration and one-pedal driving problems sound especially concerning. Safety has to come first, so I totally get why your wife doesn't want to drive it. And those UI glitches with disappearing buttons and menus must be frustrating. :( Keep pushing for a resolution - these aren't just minor bugs, they're safety issues. Let us know how it goes. Hoping Volvo steps up and sorts this out for you soon!

@@siasek well the car was dropped off yesterday 16th of July and have been given a loner until hopefully these main issues are resolved, so I await a phone call from Volvo to see whether or not these issues are resolved. I am hopeful these main issues are resolved and lesser ones perhaps with an OTA updates. Failing that, I have posed the question that's either the car be returned for a refund or exchanged like for like or I pay the extra for the 4x4 from our LR Ultra. What I don't want is for the car to be handed back and glitches reappear as I enjoy the car but after speaking with Volvo in Limassol at reception no one has been given a refund so at first glance it appears I'm stuck between two rocks. I will revert back once I get a clear picture of my current status with the car..

@@siasek car picked up yesterday and after showing volvo the video's, the receptionist who i'v been dealing with tried to convince me that, once 1 pedal driving is engaged the car is supposed to crawl forward. i had to get the technician outside to explain to him she has no idea what she's talking about, either way i left with the car not having any work done to it and was assured volvo are aware of these issues and that i should not look towards forums for answers, but to wait till sometime in August for an update, failing that he told me to keep calling them to see when there will be one available, and assured me ALL my issues would be resolved and that its a working progress. In other words, lab rats...

@@nickpanteli Wow @nickpanteli, that's really frustrating. It's concerning that the receptionist didn't understand how one-pedal driving should work. Good thing you got the technician involved. It's disappointing they didn't actually fix anything. Their response about waiting until August and not looking at forums is... interesting. We all know forums can be super helpful for real-world info and fixes. "Working progress" and waiting for updates? Sounds like they're admitting we're all beta testers. Not great when we're talking about a car, right? Keep documenting everything. August isn't far, but it's a long time to drive with those issues. Stay safe and don't hesitate to push for answers if things don't improve. Thanks for the update. Keep us posted - your experience is helping a lot of people understand what's going on with the EX30.

I'm surprised there are so many issues. I've had a Polestar 2 for nearly 2 years (in US) and haven't had any real issues with the software. I would have thought the software to be similar between the two models.

The Polestar 2 is my dream car! Been following it since launch and it's amazing how they've polished the software. I can't understand why Volvo hasn't learned from this. With the EX30, it's like they're not even testing new versions in actual cars...

After the 1.4 update (UK), we noticed that the satnav seems to get confused about where the car is when in cities/large towns. Not great as we got totally lost and It tried to direct us the wrong way down a one-way street!

Thanks for flagging this, @pdecaux. I'm really concerned to hear about these satnav issues after the 1.4 update, especially that one-way street incident! That could be dangerous. I've been getting reports from viewers in the UK and other countries about new problems cropping up after the 1.4 update. It seems like while it fixed some issues, it's unfortunately introduced new ones

Luckily (?) for me, the internet and my phone connected immediately in the showroom. But 1.4 took several days to arrive OTA after 20 notifications! Yes, the software's taking too long to sort out but they're mostly minor niggles in my case and the car is otherwise great!

Those 20 notifications before the OTA update finally arrived must have been frustrating! It's interesting how the update experience can vary so much between users. I'm glad you're enjoying the car overall despite the software niggles. Could you share what you love most about your EX30? And what specific minor issues are you still experiencing with the 1.4 update?

@@siasek Well the design externally and internally is great, and so is the colour - YELLOW! The performance and handling are good, and it's nice and quiet. Loads of little niggles in the software, but the build quality of the hardware is very good considering its origin.

That’s really interesting Volvo stopped selling the EX30 for now in the UK due to known software issues. I didn’t hear that from any other country so far. I am from Germany and for sure there are still some bugs in the software 1.4 but those are minor issues only from my point of view. So is there something different in the software for UK? It cannot be just the opposite site of the steering wheel than in most other countries.

Thanks for your input, @LxStPW! The UK sales situation was a bit overblown by the media - Volvo only temporarily suspended the online configurator, which is now back up. Interestingly, we've heard that German users are experiencing similar issues with software 1.4 as in the UK - problems with DAB radio, locking, charge scheduling, etc. It seems these aren't unique to any one country.

These aren't just minor annoyances - some of the reported problems could impact safety. Hopefully, they're working on a comprehensive fix. Please, keep me posted if you hear anything new! ☺

We had an issue with connecting the EX30 app, but read a discussion chat site and it gave me an answer. Just connect your car to your home wifi or your hotspot phone. Then you can see the QR code and it connects perfectly. My car is on 1.4. What a great car!!

I own a 2021 Tesla model 3 but am interested in all electric cars. Wow, got to say the Tesla software seems to work far more effectively than what Volvo offers. All updates are OTA at home, seamless and when bugs do occur are generally fixed quickly. Exceptions being auto wipers and phantom braking, but Tesla is determined to make these work using camera only input. Both have improved noticeably but still imo at 80%. What is so impressive though is the constant improvements and new features delivered regularly and free by OTA updates, making this 3yo car current and better than the one i bought.

How stable was the software in Tesla in the first months after providing the first cars? I know Volkswagen‘s ID.3 and Smart #1 had many problems at the beginning as well. So I wouldn’t say this is a Volvo topic, it’s a software topic at all.

@@LxStPW The software was good, faults as per my earlier post. They had more issues with fit and finish - build quality, though the batteries and drive train was reliable. Almost opposite to VW who can build cars but are new to software and ev specifics like power and battery management.

Hi @LxStPW, also, Polestar 2 has essentially the same software, and over the years, it has been fine-tuned. It seems like they aren't sharing their experiences with Volvo, though...

That’s been my experience with my one month old Tesla as well. After I canceled my EX30 reservation, knowing that Tesla had solid software was a factor in buying it.

@@Milhouse77BS I had a one day test drive in a Model Y and decided not to buy it and to wait for another EV due to many factors I don’t like at the Model Y. EX30 was a much better choice for me based on my wishes and requirements.
