First time we saw Kawaikapuokalani they were performing "Aerobicize" with his mamona dancers at Aloha tower. I'd love it if somebody could post a video if anyone has it.
Hawaii was stolen from the people because they were non violent and expressed Aloha and got taken advantage of. This has happened to so many including the native americans
ISRAEL, THIS BRADA JONNYE, LUV U AND MISS U BRA, ONCE AGAIN YOUR VOICE IS MESMERIZING ON THIS POPULAR SONG AND..... I MUST ULTIMATELY CONFESS, I WAS TOTALLY INFATUATED, SMITTEN, (INTOXICATED) BY MISS TERESA'S HAUNTING BACKGROUND VOCALS THAT TILL TODAY I STILL NO CAN LISTEN TO THIS SONG WITHOUT GETTING THAT WARM EEBIEE JEEBIEE FEELING..... MISS TERESA STILL GIVES ME THE CHILLS................... EVERYTIME.................... STILL TODAY 2024
I was around Kawika since 2012 when he ran against Tulsi, and 2014 his second time, I shot all the videos he is in and made his YT channels for both campaigns, I met both his daughters, and his son, I cannot remember the daughters names though, I have a ton of old photos he had me keep, still got them, him playing music at friends houses, his willy's wagon jeep out at 4 mile, his early childhood pics before tey moved to Japan, even him in the boxing ring. I tried to reach out to his sister to maybe see if she waould like them but she never responded to my messages in FB. I just talked to him a couple months before he died, he was in the hospital, I think it was because of his drinking, I told him that I would eventually be coming to Hilo and didn't find out until I tried calling his phone and no answer. I was quite shocked I would have never thought he would do that. Now te real sad thing, he had over 400 songs he wrote when he lived in Nashville many years ago, and kept a copy of all of them, I was going to post them on RU-vid where he agreed that anyone who would like to use them to go ahead, he was going to give them away, now that won't happen. I am still saddened anytime I needed answers or advice for something he would always be there...
This song is "da bomb!" Chicken skin kine music...beautiful! Mahalo for sharing it! Iz and the Makaha Sons will never be forgotten! ❤ I wished I had talked to Iz when I attended Kaimuki Intermediate School with him-I was too shy. He had his ukulele with him even back then...
