I get 32 mpg in my 2024 Mazda CX5 carbon edition. I live in the country. Mixed country and city driving. I have not driven on the interstate yet. Regular fuel usually 2 persons in car. I have less than 4k miles. I bought my CX5 in Nov 2023.
I have a similar issue on my 2020 mazda 6.non turbo. Still under warranty till 2024 nov. There is a noticeable jerk while shifting from 4-5 gear. I took the car multiple time to the @mazda dealer here in the UAE. But the dealer kept saying it's nothing to worry about since there are no fault codes. They made useless suggestions like bad spark plugs, injectors and even weak transmission Mount might be causing the issue. Which to me felt like they were trying to get ride of me since the warranty will be expiring soon. I Don't know what to do now.
I have the E-X-A-C-T same transmission issue with my 2024 CX-5! Was failing right off, multiple TRANSMISSION SLIPS during virgin ride of the day (for first 5-minutes or so). Reproducible 100% after sitting overnight, after mild overnight temp drops, eg. 60-degree F. Thought it would LEARN the correct COLD-shifting for 2nd-3rd, but never did. Have taken to dealer multiple times, including to a second dealer, to no avail. Escalations to "REGIONAL" have gone nowhere. They claim that since there's NO DIAG CODE thrown, then it's behaving NORMAL! (right!) They say they've tried a TCM "learning reset", to no avail. However, I'm pretty sure there's a second set of TCM shift parameters for "COLD WARMUP-mode" (similar to a fallback BOOTSTRAP PROM on a computer), that are SEPARATE FROM the otherwise normal adaptive/learned params -- and that they're either outright corrupt, or simply not calibrated properly with the current valve-body instance. Have even appealed directly to Mazda engineers/development managers in Japan. :( Will be posting my own video(s) soon!
I like videos like this where people talk and drive telling a good story entertaining. Unrelated but I also like those GoPro videos with people on their dirt bikes or regular bikes just drive around and talking about the bike also while telling a good story. Always a fan of that type of content with some helpful educational knowledgeable and informative reviews or opinions. These are the type of things I'll be watching at 3:00 in the morning lmfao 🤣 instead of being asleep
I'd also be keen to know if iStop doesn't activate if you have the AC running. I think that icon on the right depicts the engine itself - what it means though, I couldn't tell you lol - or that battery thing and what 'not ready' means ....
I've got a 2024 Mazda 3. Preface - I hate iStop. Mine is always on by default after every ignition cycle so ever time I turn the car on I have to turn it off. Pain in the ass. You have to depress the brake pedal quite firmly for it to activate. My iStop button has a little light on the button so when I turn it off it lights up amber but nothing changes on the dash. If I don't turn it off and come to a stop at the traffic lights the car shuts off and the words iStop illuminate on the dash in green meaning that it has activated. They really need to switch it around so it's always off unless you want it on.
I rented a CX-5 like this one last year with the 17” wheels and I was amazed at how it handled and rode. I drive a RAV4 hybrid and while it’s very efficient and well made, the handling and dynamics of a CX-5 is just at a different level. I have not driven a CX-50, but have rented a CX-30. It drove fine, but incredibly small backseat was a turn off for me.
I wasn't impressed. I did my ranch house and from the outside they looked ok on the screened windows where you couldn't see as much, but my entry doors and sliding door is a mess. From the inside they look terrible. I did in the evening overcast sky, followed directions. 70 degrees. Alot of spots and streaks. Not sure what I did wrong but had a pretty good pressure hose. Looks like im cleaning windows by hand tomorrow lol.
How is your combined MPG? We live rural and use cruise control a lot. Ours has been staying at 29.3 occasionally up to 29.5 we are very happy with that! I have a 2021 grand touring AWD 2.5 NA engine, I do have the 19's inch rims on it.
I have a Mazda 3, 225,345 miles. I was planning to drive it to 500,000 miles but then TCM issues happen. I got a new refurbished one, change the location, it ran good for few months and then again tranny is acting up. In the morning, until it heats up for 15-20 min, it would not go in first gear whereas the reverse gear works. Once it starts running it still runs like a champ. Seeing this happening to your 2024 CX-5 is mindboggling. You have patience of a saint. I dont and I would not be this cool as you are in this video. I am never going to buy a Mazda again in my life time. I am done with them.
I am currently leasing a 2022 cx5 preferred. I am noticing jerking, car roughly shifting when reversing a revving without picking up when getting on the highway. Ill probably just get a new lease when this one ends in april. This is a headache, glad i didnt finance. Im so disappointed. My husband's cx9 runs perfectly with way more mileage.
I have a 2021. I bought it preowned. It does exactly what you are describing. I feel like there is definitely something wrong with the transmission. I took it in a week after I got it and service told me there Is nothing wrong and that’s just how Mazdas drive. I have had it for about 10 months now and the jerking really bothers me. It’s as if I have a stick shift. I plan to take it back in and demand they look at the transmission again. Any suggestions since it seems you have been through this. Thanks!
I just bought the 18" version of this mower, (Walmart $247) and it is awesome! first off, I have a very small lawn to mow so this is perfect for my needs and as long as the battery (yes it's all about the battery!) keeps a charge once winter has passed and summer returns all is good but if it doesn't and seeing as how the battery (Amazon) is $140 all bets are off and I will be pissed! I just mowed my lawn, and it was about 3" high, and this beast took it right down. now let's get back to the battery.... first it takes about 4 hours to charge the battery and as I said it's going to cost you at least $140 for a replacement if needed! if you only need about 30-40 minutes of mowing time this is for you but after that it can get expensive, just dont forget to mount the side shoot onto the side of the mower because if you use it to mulch it will run your battery down faster as opposed to using the shoot and letting the grass out the side.
I have this exact same model and year . My 2022 cx5 sports design myn is the none turbo and it’s pearl white and I really like my cx5 but we got camping lots in the summer months and i am Leasing this cx5 and I got my cx5 in March of 2022 . I been thinking of the dodge grand caravan or the Chrysler caravan. In a year or so I will have to make a decision.
How did tis start? I bought a 24 signature in Jan. Its jerky when first starting. like, lurching. 5000km on car. Doesnt always happen but I leave the same parkade every time at same speed and some days it quite lurchy. Subsequent starts after that its just fine.
As long as the blue light is lit the transmission isn’t as happy. A transmission programming reset should fix. That’s not a hardware issue. Surprised the dealership said that.
In my 2022 Mazda 3 (manual transmission), cylinder deactivation is smooth when it activates/deactivates, but... at lower engine speeds (<1600rpm ~80km/h) it causes a distinct thrumming vibration in the car while on 2 cylinders. It pretty much halves fuel consumption while it is active - I can cruise at 100 km/h (62 mph) on a level surface with the instant readout at 3-4 litres / 100km (59-78 US mpg). I'm thinking of asking Mazda if it it can be set to only activate when the engine speed is > 1600 rpm.
I am contemplating buying a new 2024 or 2025 CX-5. I have heard or read a few things that I will present to you based on what I have heard. I-stop is automatically on every time you crank the vehicle, the light comes on when you deactivate the function. If you want to deactivate this, you have to push the button every time you restart the vehicle. If you don't push the brake pedal down with enough pressure, i-stop does not activate. If you have the defroster, maybe just the a/c, it does not activate either. (all based on what I heard) Side note question: Have you tried your personal car with 87 octane to see if you actually get less mileage or are you just doing that based on past experience? I have heard, no personal knowledge, that premium is not required and will not improve fuel mileage when only 87 octane engines like in my 2023 Mazda3 is recommended. I have heard that these motors will not properly burn high octane gas and will cause a problem eventually whereas 87 octane would be better for it. I am not disputing what you are telling us, just asking. I don't need more power out of my Mazda3 2.5L n/a motor but if premium made it run better and was better for my engine, I would certainly give it a try. And I also ask because I still own my 2006 Mazda3 2.0L n/a and have only ever used 87 octane. Has always run fine with good fuel mileage. No complaints at all.
CX5 2021 - no such such issue with CDA. I feel a little jolt on switching jears when transmission is "cold", ex. switch to 2nd gear on parking serpantine in mult-level garage. Does sport mode turning CDA off? - can't find the answer here
Your turbo model probably has larger rims with low profile tires. That will make a big difference even if everything else remains the same. But you may also have a differently tuned suspension on the turbo.
That probably won't happen until after they redesign the CX-5 to share a common platform with the CX-30/50. Until then we get cylinder deactivation on new NA models🙄.
2021 grand touring non turbo. Absolutely no problem with CDA. Completely seamless with no change in smooth cursing in town. And in country on flats giving up to 58mph.
