Hi Bob, I've loaded a few chutes in the top of the tail being a crew chief. We had a big chute stand that encompassed the tail of the B-52. It had a crank hoist and we lifted it up and then removed the empty chute bag and spring loaded droge chute canister and installed reloaded chute and droge. Then cranked the open chute door until the latches clicked shut.
I was down the flightpath when it took off from Fairford yesterday delivering to a customer .First time I had heard one takeoff and was surprised how loud it was.
Yes with great difficulty. There's more explanation in the description of this video 👍- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DHZnyO2evps.htmlsi=NvMbGUlxJQRjUSmc

Best channel for aviation. I wish the Vulcans still flew. Wasn’t here in time to see one. Such a shame that they don’t, I wish their howling legacy could live on in the skies for longer.
"Why not Minot!?!" Definitely recognize that MT on the tail. When I was stationed there (as a fueler), we did a couple of night sorties. I always thought that racket would wake the whole base!
Remember when there was more than one aerobatic team in the RAF.. Black Arrows, Black Knights, Blue Diamons, Yellowjacks, Linton Gin, Firebirds.. Man, remember when we had an air force with enough aircraft to actually do that!! lol
Those visuals make one of us who grew up in the Cold War, think of all the Doomsday movies, and occasional news documentaries trying to tell us, 'this will happen', if the West doesn't bow before the mighty USSR and declare a unilateral disarmament. 😅
Thank you so much Bob, but l think you know by now l ‘m just after the jets. But having said that, what an amazing sound. Thank you so much for your video. Heidi ❤️🤗😁🔥
Great video! It brings back good memories being a crew chief recovering acft at Wurtsmith AFB MI. I have flown with the crew during 12hr. missions but not 24hrs. But the work just begins after recovery plus a 2 1/2 hr refuel. Good memories!
I can imagine how much work goes into every flight, prepping planning and priming, then all over again! Not sure if these landed elsewhere in those 24 hours, guess they did but maybe they stayed airborne all the while..
They used our hunting cabin in a 30 acre clearing in the Huron Forest for a target or waypoint. Ground would shake, then this huge beast heaves into sight at the treeline and fill the window. Loved it.
It's funny I drove 200 miles got there at 1 in the morning and they were going out! Couldn't have timed it any better. They've all gone now I believe..
