Those B52 TF33 turbofan engines sure sound spooky spooling up in the darkness.
The take offs were filmed at 1.30am on Wednesday 12th June (the two that went out) and a single at around 2am on Friday 14th June.

This sounds VERY familiar!! I was stationed at a SAC base in Blytheville AFB in Arkansas in the late seventies!! JUST AWESOME !!!!

Great video! It brings back good memories being a crew chief recovering acft at Wurtsmith AFB MI. I have flown with the crew during 12hr. missions but not 24hrs. But the work just begins after recovery plus a 2 1/2 hr refuel. Good memories!

I can imagine how much work goes into every flight, prepping planning and priming, then all over again! Not sure if these landed elsewhere in those 24 hours, guess they did but maybe they stayed airborne all the while..

They used our hunting cabin in a 30 acre clearing in the Huron Forest for a target or waypoint. Ground would shake, then this huge beast heaves into sight at the treeline and fill the window. Loved it.

"Why not Minot!?!" Definitely recognize that MT on the tail. When I was stationed there (as a fueler), we did a couple of night sorties. I always thought that racket would wake the whole base!

Those visuals make one of us who grew up in the Cold War, think of all the Doomsday movies, and occasional news documentaries trying to tell us, 'this will happen', if the West doesn't bow before the mighty USSR and declare a unilateral disarmament. 😅

It's funny I drove 200 miles got there at 1 in the morning and they were going out! Couldn't have timed it any better. They've all gone now I believe..
