What's up CW Fans!!! Here you will find basic videos on learning and improving your speed of copy of Morse Code. This channel also has tips and tricks on various radios and how to get the best out of your Morse Code (CW) operating. CWon, my friends!
Okay, I'm gonna do this! I've been a HAM so long it's embarrassing that I don't know CW. I don't even have an HF radio but that's no excuse. Thanks for these videos in advance. 73, de Frank, KJ7CA
Excellent advice! Thanks. You should teach a course. I’m brand new to CW and only occasionally achieve smoothage (love that word!) with my call sign. Really enjoying your videos. Much appreciated. I bought a Morserino-32 and it’s nice for practice.
This was cool... I've done morse code on my horn, but nothing this good...LOL. Have you ever considered using some type of strap on your thigh to hold the key/paddle in place? Looks like the /M kept throwing him off...Not many /M's on CW LOL. 73 de K7LZZ
Very cool doing QRP Mobile AND CW! I’m 75/100 towards Mobile DXCC but, so far, it’s been all SSB. I’ve been practicing copying CW in my head, can do 20wpm stationary, for those CW-only DX stations. I use my Voice Memo app to record details, especially on contest weekends, then log the QSOs in my phone when I’m stopped. Used to operate QRP Mobile, SSB, with a 817ND for several years. 73 de WB3CFN/m
I have been using Tony's ZN-HKIII (Straight Key) for a couple years. It's a treat to use, looks beautiful, and built like a tank. Something that will last long after I'm gone.
Thank you for this helpful video. I'm looking to buy my first desktop paddle. One thing that you didn't provide any commentary on is the choice between magnetic and spring returns. What are the differences between them? 73 Jim N4FAF
I picked my BY-2 up at a Hamfest maybe 5-6 years ago for no more than $80 in almost new condition. Still on my on again off again quest to get proficient at code. I always take it to field day and it finds love there.
It's essentially said, RA1AOM de K9KJ 73 TU EE This is the other person's call sign, de="this is", then my call sign, then 73=" Best regards". TU is an abbreviation for thank you. EE it's just a fun little two dots as a final salutation
Sure? Most operators can send faster than listening. And the video matches his taps. Btw this paddle is designed for squeezing. I can decode CW with up to 35 wpm and send with usual 22 wpm, but speed up to 25 wpm.
