I do so hope you realise how special you are and that there is nothing similar to what you do on RU-vid - so beautiful, calm, peaceful, relaxing, creative & inspirational. The Nocturne sketchbook is a wonderful idea and I would love you to do a 'paint along' of something similar to the one with the birds - perhaps bats & Halloweeny? Your videos continue to help me through a very dark depression. Thank you.
Is the first palette a landscape only palette or do you use it for painting anything you see outside? Also what size brush should be used with the notebook and how much is your landscape course??
I use it everywhere I go so it might also be urban sketching scenes which you can see in a sketchbook flip through from last year, but this year more especially I’ve been using it for landscapes & so have introduced more greens & granulating browns.. . But I would take this anywhere and paint everything! The brushes I’m using I’ll link below tomorrow, you can use a larger size & a smaller detail one, whatever feels comfortable for you.. . The course will be around $150 with a 75% Off discount for the first 24 hours after it’s launched to say Thankyou to everyone who has supported the Channel! I will give you plenty of notice, but please also sign up for channel notifications.. . I’m hoping to have it all finalized fairly soon.. . I hope that helps, have a wonderful week! 🤗✨🪷🌷🥳🎨🦋
Also, this is a guide & starting point, as you’ll see in he next videos & from previous palette videos, there are so many ways to tailor a palette to your needs, so use this more as a point of inspiration to find a palette that makes sense to you & makes you happy! 🤗🎨✨🫧🌷🪷🦋💝
Hello! I only recently discovered your channel, and I really love your videos. I have a question: when you sort in the pans in your watercolour boxes, do you use self adhesive magnetic tape under them so that they don't slide back and forth? And another question: I bought the golden ink from Winsor + Newton today. What confuses me is that I have to shake it constantly during use because the pigments sink so quickly. How do you handle this?
Hi! So nice to have you here! With the pans, I generally pack them in quite tightly so they don’t really have a chance to move {in the smaller palettes} in the larger palette where I take out the spokes & move them to the middle, I don’t do anything they seem to be ok & not move around much.. . If you’re worried you can also take an old tube of watercolor paint you don’t use, & squeeze a little on the bottom of the half pan, it will help it stick to the bottom but you can take it out if you need to.. . With the gold ink, yes sadly it does need to be shaken fairly often, I just take it as a necessary situation in order to get that kind of sparkle so it doesn’t bother me too much Thanks for the questions, hope that helps! 🤗✨🫧🎨🌷🪷🦋
Thank you so much for sharing this video & the tips you have learned. I absolutely Love your style & seeing the benefit of keeping a Sketchbook. Can't wait for the next video.
Aww Thankyou Ever So! Yes Sketchbooks can be such a treat! A very nice way to also understand our progress, what to work on, what we like & don’t like, & then to see how far we’ve come! Have a wonderful week! Next video should be up soon! 🤗✨🫧🎨💝🦋🪷
hehe I feel ya, I will definitely be filling a whole winter Sketchbook with snow scenes, it’s been on my to do list since last year when I realized I need a lot more thought in this area! Stay tuned! 🤗🫧✨🎨🪷🌷🦋🥳
I realize this video was posted a while back, but would you kindly happen to remember the paper that is the swatch card shown at 3:50? The colors granulate so beautifully on it. By what appears to be a deckled edge on the left, I assume it's some sort of handmade cotton paper. Amalfi, maybe?
Thankyou So! I am working on a course now, it should be out soon! I love painting rococo style/baroque style things, shoes, settees, landscapes etc, hopefully you can see many things scattered throughout the videos! 🤗✨🎨🪷
I should have a landscape course available soon, we will paint lots of beautiful versions of landscapes & finish with a rococo inspired kind of window locking through to a Monet style garden with a fountain, I’ll share more soon! 🤗✨✨✨
Always interesting curating individual palettes. It takes time and an understanding of your pigments. But so satisfying. You just need lots of pigment and palettes haha. Funny Millies energy is Border Collieishing. We had a Border Collie and our 2 acres was not enough for him. Guess we needed sheep…
I totally agree! I love pouring over other peoples palettes & sharing the creative thought process behind them! Yes, Millie’s energy! I’ve never seen another Burnese run like her, she is exhausted after 10 or 15 minutes, but when she runs, she’d definitely give them a run for their money for that 10 minutes! She’s like a sprinting powerhouse! 🤗🤗🤗🐶✨✨✨
Thank you for this beautiful video! I appreciate especially your swatches of two colours mixing (side by side) without really or fully blending. Glazing will always be a subject of interest for me. Have a wonderful magical week! 🍁🍂🌬️✨💕
I love handmade watercolors. They are so beautiful and unique. I would love to see more of your paint come available. They are absolutely beautiful. Hint hint 😉
hehe I got the nudge! This year with Millie has definitely been more than we anticipated! It’s taken 10 months to do 3 weeks worth of work on the course.. . I’m hoping to have some more watercolors available soon, I’ve been absolutely itching to make some! Stay Tuned! 🤗✨💗🪷🎨🫧🌷
Thankyou Ever So! I always hope the videos will have a little bit of something interesting to share! There’s so much content out there! Have a loveliest of weeks! 🤗✨🎨🪷💝🌷🫧🦋
Aww Thankyou So! Yes things are pretty good! We went to the NY Sheeep & Wool Festival yesterday {hence the late video😬} hope things are also vey well with you! Dear thoughts 🤗✨🎨💝🌷🫧
Yes they’re really amazing! I don’t really use any I put wax paper on top & kind of press the pastels down, I’ve heard arguments for adding & not adding fixative.. . But I did get some Spectrafix to try, I want to see if it changes the colors & if it has any toxic smell.. . I’ll update on the channel with my findings soon 🤗🫧✨🎨🌬️🪷💗
Love your videos. Really interesting and creative. Love the swatches but also all the other different content. Music is fine. Do you ever do really big paintings eg full watercolour sheets?
Thankyou So! Yea I have a course coming soon where we do some large paintings! I also have some paintings I’m itching to do, hopefully next year will be a little more productive in that area! 🤗✨🎨🌷🪷🫧
I have a simular tool that I think is actually intended for clay or sculpture, it's like a firm silicone, so far it's been really handy for mixing on my paper and getting a really smooth application.
I wouldn’t even dare to wish for any of all you give away… maybe, find some hope? I have no money to purchase even a fifth of all this nice supplies. I’m retired from a hard sickness with a lot of pain. The only thing that give some relief is painting. But up have to be careful, and not use up all the material I have. Don’t know when I can buy new.
Your name (eau poetique) means "poetic water"? Poetry of color would be "la poésie de la couleur"...if that's what you meant to say. If you were just making up a cute French sounding name then my mistake. I apologize.
Fabulous haul with so many wonderful products! My favourite was the marbled watercolour sketchbook. Stunning! I've not seen that Michael Harding dot card before. I've been collecting some of his watercolours here in Oz. They're very pigmented and gorgeous, aren't they. The puppy birthday party was adorable! Aw, their little party hats...🥰🥰
Thankyou Ever So! Yes the Michael Harding are a wonderful watercolor! It’s really interesting to see how the different brands build their ranges! I’ll definitely be adding to that collection! 🤗✨🎨💝🥳🐶🎪🌸💗
My favorites are what I have. This medium is beautiful. I bought a Rembrandt set years ago and they still usable. I try and limit the practice to outdoors.
I love that! It’s really nice to build a collection of favorite things! & I love how long these supplies last as well, so we can pick them up years later when we might have fresh eyes or new ideas! Thankyou So! 🤗✨🦋🫧
Gorgeous items and now I have things to give my husband for my Christmas list . Love the blue by A gallo . The pinks too and I’m not a pink girl. I thought etchr notebooks were expensive . I love all your palette colors . Most of my wc are Daniel Smith since in USA they are so easy and cheap to access. I have some beautiful etsy from Masha watercolor and 31purplefish which are big in the states but they are cheap compared to your haul. Unfortunately the paper your share the shop is closed and has nothing in stock .
Oh just what I was hoping for! A kind of unofficial Gift guide! Certainly the sketchbook & walnut palette & pastels will be in my Christmas gift guide.. . They are quite expensive {I like to use my RU-vid earnings for higher ticket items to showcase beautiful things out there on the market} but they are definitely worth every penny! The sketchbook does come in smaller sizes to try {when we got two at a museum gift shop, I’d checked on Mums that it was blank & just assumed mine was too, if it didn’t have lines I wouldn’t have even looked on their website trying to find a blank one, but I was so pleasantly surprised when I saw the Amalfi cotton paper ones!} The thing with the sketchbook is I mean it’s nothing like any other art sketchbook type book, it’s heavy & really exquisite Italian craftsmanship, you can definitely feel that it’s worth the money! Even my little blue one I love so much! {if anyone gets one or has experience with these books please let us know your thoughts!} As far as compared to Etchr, I haven’t tried the perfect sketchbook, but I got a small white one & the smell about knocked me out, I couldn’t air it out & that chemical smell was there for months, I feel like if I’d gotten the larger one I probably would have passed out at my desk it was that severe, I’m not sure if they still have that strong smell or maybe I just got a bad one, but these Italian books have no smell except the leather & paper.. . the only thing is that the paper is thinner.. . I like that because more pages to me means I’ll use the book more & not be precious with it, & with the amount of pagesin it, this could take 3-5 years for me to even fill! It’s really like investing in a large heirloom art piece that you can contribute to! Ooh Masha Watercolors! I hadn’t heard of them until I was recently lookin up ceramic palettes, & I did purchase one of the palettes I’d like to add my watercolors & pearls to.. . That might be ready to show for my Christmas Gift Guide! Have you tried her palettes? I think the Greenleaf & Blueberry blues are definitely very expensive, but I’ve found them to last a long time & be again, a very luxurious product.. . I think the hard thing with doing a video like this is that I’ve been saving up & buying these over a long period of time, but when you see it & want it all at once it’s quite overwhelming.. . Sorry about that! 😬 please definitely pace yourselves! There’s often been things on my wishlists for years *until I could organize them! Thanks for your thoughts! Have a lovely week! 🤗✨🌸🪷💝🎨 *edit P.S Also, I always recommend looking for local alternatives that might be similar but more affordable because they’re local to you, so absolutely feel free to use this as more like Inspiration than an actual list as well! 🌬️✨✨✨
