I'm Lynn and i started this channel as a way to inspire women who want to, to go naturally silver and free themselves of the endless hair dye cycle! But the journey is about so much more than hair. Let's go gray!

That made me laugh, "I'll never dye my hair again".... "ok well maybe one more time". That was me getting highlights and now my hair is as dry as straw.
I have been growing mine out for a year and it's looks to be to be about 5 inches I think it might hit corner of the mouth or maybe chin in another year, so that is two years of grow out! Lucky for me I went with high lights and they are very close to my hair color so growing them out is not too terrible. What I really hated about them is they damaged my hair virgin hair that had taken me over 3 years to grow out! I am determined not to cave to pressure (from family members) next time a big event comes up like a wedding! the hair dresser stripped my hair down to white, despite me telling her to just take it down two levels. Looking forward to having my totally unique hair back. I think that is the nice thing about greying hair. In my case silver whites. I know once it gets to shoulder level I will be fine with the ends still being there but being dry. My hair is below bra strap level. One thing I don't like about my whites is they are fine and wiry, not curly like my natural hair! at the same time and not shiny. Hoping I can somehow get some shine in my whites. So odd to deal with hair of two different types and textures. Not to mention the areas where the whites are the hair has thinned, while the bottom half of my hair is thick and curly.
I tried Henna/ indigo for about the last 5 months. The indigo fades in roughly 10 days and leaves my roots an orange / red. So I end up using a root spray. Not only that I ended up recently losing a lot of inches, as it made my hair like straw. This was the final point of ending this for me as it had taken me awhile to get my hair longish. I finally have decided to take the plunge and grow out my greys 🎉
I want to try Overtone, but someone said it permanently turned the natural darker hair that they still had a lighter color, so then they were also dealing with that as part of the grow out. I have quite a bit of natural dark hair mixed in with my silver that I don't want to affect...I just want to address the brassiness of the brown dye. Does anyone know if Overtone permanently lightens natural dark hair?
Two questions. 1) Why use gel and why after gel apply also a foam? 2) Is it only me that has sticky and dry hair after using foam? It also does not help a lot with wave/curl definition as in others (I dont use too muchm product dont come at me)
I've been wanting to do this since 2020. Covid forced me to learned how to have 6 months of roots. 4 years later...my plan is to use toner/gloss to help ease the transition. I forgot that I am a grown ass woman and can decided how I want to do it. In the meantime, I have 12 lovely inches of bright pink and purple. I'm ready to lean into what I have instead of fighting against it.
Amazing. I am doing both. Embracing my menopausal suddenly wavy hair AND embracing my grey that started when I was 25. I'm 51 now! It took me an entire doubling of my life to realize I can work with what I have instead of fighting against it. Thank you for this. I did the curly girl thing for 4 months and (after throwing away all my old products, buying millions of new products, etc) realized I too hate rules. We DO have agency over our hair and your hair will likely tell you what it wants if you listen and notice. YAY.
I have not even finished watching this video yet and I am SO EXCITED. I just turned 51. My hair has been a mix of fashion colors for years. Covid taught me that the world would not end if I let it grown out. But...I am creative. I am trying to save my own life. I am trying to break FREE of black and white, all or nothing thinking. So I have been devising a plan on how to do this my way. I still had a twinge of feeling guilty or less than with my plan. Until NOW. Thank you, thank you, thank you for reminding us that there is no one right way. I still have wild lovely bright fuchsia and purple hair. But I have 2 months of fresh growth. My thought was I would start playing with glazes and toners while I let is grow out. I can still capitalize on the bleached parts and make them bright AF. I have been wanting to make the "pledge" for a while but kept chickening out. Why? Because I felt like I had to have the skunk stripe and spend hundreds to blend. No. No thank you! I will play with what is here AND play with what is coming in. Best birthday gift ever. Thank you!
This is amazing. I just turned 51. I am **so close** to letting the hair dye, bleach, fashion colors go. "Color" has been a part of my identity for the last decade. Bright fuchsia, bold purples and pinks, deep reds, blues. For me, my "color" was a message to my inner self for when my world goes dark., which is often. "Color was here. Color will come back again." Now, I am rounding the corner and realizing I am still alive inside. I am also realizing I now SEE color for the first time in what feels like forever. This means my insides have started to match my outsides and I may not need to depend on bright neon flashing signs to remind me the color is everywhere....and that without darkness, we would not recognize light. Thanks for the message (not) in a bottle. :)
I live in Sweden, yet I’am using water-complex filter to wash but water feels good but don’t know if it’s hard water cause the filter makes me wash in a good way i lower the pressare until i see water running clear kinda 😂☺️😯
You’re awesome- for so many reasons thanks for being so real ❤ I can totally relate to you-it cracked me up when you said you were afraid your natural hair color wasn’t going to look like a real color because I’ve thought that too but it can’t look any more fake than my brown dyed hair!! Don’t stop making these videos I absolutely enjoy them so much 🎉
all of that information is clearly stated in the instructions to every common hair dye remover i've come across so far. it seems tho that most people don't know that hair colour often does have lifting elements in them though, and that combined with not reading instructions/warning labels properly often results in "oh god, my hair!". just please read the whole info pamphlet coming with your products, people 🙏
I have used Sally beauty's shampoo specifically for hard water for a couple years and it's amazing. my hair is so much softer and my scalp isn't itchy at all - i used to have a terribly itchy scalp to the point where it would bleed, and my hair was so crispy in spite of being totally unprocessed.
Sally beauty hard water shampoo is amazing. They also have a hard water conditioner that works great, but the shampoo is the real MVP; takes care of the problem even when used with other conditioners.
Wow thank you this is probably one of the most informative videos I’ve seen . I stopped colouring my hair last year & because it’s short the grey it’s fully grown out , also it’s curly I’m noticing the difference in texture I have bought so many different types of shampoos conditioners hair masks oils etc , I will now try using the apple cider vinegar as a rinse. Your hair is beautiful and you are inspiring.I have been using henna to maintain my red hair as a healthier way than the chemical dye I once used, but I am losing my natural curl, and thus decided it might be time to accept my grays. Unfortunately my complexion doesn’t favor the gray, but perhaps the Overtone might offer options that are more flattering. Do you or anyone out there have any suggestions for hennaed hair? It is such a stark contrast to my silver and salt & pepper coming in and as a professional, I’m afraid that it will negatively impact my career.
