I'm American. I grew up watching ww2 documentaries and movies. And all who fought in ww2 Americans we were soliders so were the germans. We fought for our countries, In the end we were the same both Soliders and human beings now we are Allies 🇺🇸🕊🇩🇪
If he were part of that volunteer corps, that Britisches Freikorps officer could have communicated with the 101st Airborne Division soldier in English. On the other hand, the Germans didn't wear this bracelet on the arm, unless it's worn with the black uniform of the Allgemeine SS, and only for ceremonial acts. The haircut of that "German" soldier is not the regulation.
Ugh. Very bad. A paratroop wearing gear that has never been worn before and has no idea how to be a soldier. A German? wearing...I don't know what...but a swastika armband and a 1970's haircut. The German lights his too long cigarette with a Zippo lighter. WTF?
not all German soldiers in World War II were evil or wanted war. many had no choice and had to enlist. there was a man in Austria who refused to take part and lost his life because of it. his name was Jägerstätter Franz.
Governments declare war, soldiers only kill to survive, they don't want to kill. Your sons, daughters, brothers or fathers are the ones who pay the price.
You can clearly hear the accent when he speaks german(I am a native German speaker so it might be different for non German speakers) but the German was still good and the film was great too!
Reading through the comments i was disappointed a little to see people focussing on petty details rather than the sentiment of the film itself. To the average viewer such things would pass largely unnoticed, but to anyone watching its the story of a German Soldier and an allied paratrooper and their brief encounter on the battlefield, no doubt about it. Hardcore history buffs and re-enactment fans would spot it but it doesn't detract from the overall message of what is after all, a short low budget, amateur production. I think it rocked. A smashing yarn with a priceless message. And no doubt the next one from this crew will be more polished in the details for having gained the experience. Keep it up guys awesome work!!!!
My last name is Rauch. My grandfather and great uncle fought in Europe during WW2. My grandfather was shot in the shoulder. My great uncle was killed by Germans in france. Two generations prior, my family lived in Germany. So ironic. We named my youngest son after my Great uncle.

Looked at a lot of comments after watching the clip. I don't think its excellent!!! Which soldier would go to war with his IWC Schaffhausen watch - an absolute luxury watch brand (Min. 2:44) ??? As if some of the ukranian soldiers would fight the russians in gucci loafers - and if they would - probably only because they are attacked - ambushed at home not knowing the russians are comming...... Then the us guy tries to shoot the german but his weapon jams and he gets knocked out - after waking up - lying on the ground - at gunpoint, he makes a dash for his jamming gun - at gunpoint???? sorry what an unrealistic plot - trying to create a dramatic situation with absolute nonsense. Next thing: the german does not take away the weapon from the american soldier and turns his back on him - what.......you mean he didn't take it - nope......but he's german......nope..... Then - why does he tell him to take of his jacket and shirt - apparently he then, had already decided to let him go. Where would he go and how long would it take - a few days - weeks - to reach safety - i will let you live but sorry no jacket and no shirt you have to freeze at night.... Wrong uniforms, blindfolding for what? sorry you can do better than that!!!!!!
