I read through all the comments and almost no one gave the producer any credit for trying. Yes, there are many things wrong with the uniforms, equipment, etc., etc. The comment by "new tab", "This film was written by a 5 year old. And cost 85 cents to make. 25 cents over budget"... was it really necessary to get that nasty? If you want to submit helpful criticisms , that's great, but really, guys, is it necessary to trash him?

The German didn't wanted to kill the American. His son taught him not to kill the deer. So he blindfolded the American, and left so the American could live. I liked this clip a lot. I'm German and didn't have much problems understanding what the none German said. Great job Ethan Harman.

There were many 'Oops!' encounters in the war. Two soldiers, one German, one US, meet in the woods. They see each other, but for whatever reason neither one opens fire. They wave, then go about their business. People get tired, suffer exhaustion...can't be on kill-mode all the time, dig? Besides, most of the time one soldier is by himself is when looking for a place to poop!

Yes his German isn’t perfect but quite good for a non native speaker. I was able to understand most of it.

I like the way he made him go pretending like he’s taking him to the Germans Then the German guy Run Away escape from the American even though he know that he have the American as a hostage but somehow he didn’t want to hurt his feelings and just run away making the American guy without his jacket and weapon Made him so confused that he thought he was in heaven lol 😂

Excellent!! I think people should pay more attention to the story/dialog than the uniform details. Great shots, action scenes and story line. Very nicely done.

The "german" soldier has the collars tabs of the British Free Corps, and captures a US airborne. Even if he is a british vlounteer in the Waffen SS, and knows english, he asks and speaks in german

For any of you wondering, No, the flag patch on the American is not the wrong way, in WW2 they didn’t have the flags like they do now, such as in Band of Brothers, when they wore the flag patches, they were “reversed”, they didn’t have the flag regulations like we do now

This short film draws so much curiosity but... I too don't quite understand what was going on. Nevertheless, I can't explain why I liked it.

This was a pretty decent film, despite some mistakes. Good job.

The German is wearing "Brisches Freikorps" collar tabs. And his armband is on the right arm, not on the left arm.

Amazing work! I love the storyline, the outfits a bit inaccurate, German is a little off, but who cares!. It’s amazing either way!

Constructive criticism is good, and while we know he can't speak the best German, he's American. That's pretty impressive for such an attempt at it. Sure the uniforms weren't exactly put together well, but that's one hell of an attempt to gather things in this that come fairly close to historically accurate. Note that I didn't say it was perfect, but it was decent enough to make for a movie. You can't really complain when they at least tried, but it's obvious some things could be adjusted to improve it.

What a poorly trained paratrooper. He’s just sitting out in the open. He didn’t grab cover, didn’t check his surroundings, nothing.

The 101st Airborne uniform is pretty good lookin. Though, the English Waffen SS uniform is not that accurate.

Does anyone know the name of the beautiful song accompanying the last scene from 10:07 when the German orders the American up making him take off his jacket and put the Nazi armband over his eyes then leads the American forward, the poor American thinking he's being executed but instead the German runs away leaving the American alone in the field? It's such a beautiful song with wonderful singers. So moving. And I don't care about the poor technical details either the, film and story is emotive with excellent acting.

Hope, Faith and Love and love above all. And the forgiveness he showed when he was attacked after his first act of Mercy. Twice he forgave the so called enemy. Above Hope and Faith is love. God in His Love He is Merciful beyond anything else. I think the folks that are criticizing this can't see the forest because of the trees.

It's possible that the German was a deserter who showed compassion to the American based on the story of the German's son who did not want to shoot the deer.

Attention to detail on the uniform (paratrooper: wrong boots, white T shirt - colour and the fact he's wearing one rather than a wool shirt, wrong ammunition belt, lack of canteen, pack, etc.) would be good.

I'm American. I grew up watching ww2 documentaries and movies. And all who fought in ww2 Americans we were soliders so were the germans. We fought for our countries, In the end we were the same both Soliders and human beings now we are Allies 🇺🇸🕊🇩🇪
