I think the Ascent is not a bad choice. Better than the vehicle you had before and the black interior makes it look better. I don’t know why you looked at Pilots, RAV4’s and all of them generic vehicles but not at something more interesting like a Ford Bronco, Explorer, maybe even a GMC.
Bronco = Not a 3 row, Explorer = Would have been fine, but wife likes Japanese cars, GMC = didn't even think about it and would have got shut down by the wife. She likes Subaru and I kinda like them also :) I was the one who recommended we get the Forester and can honestly saw was not disappointed.
Like the technology and the ceiling a/c vents - that's pretty fancy! About the power liftgate - does it have a single motor or dual motors? The ones with a single motor tend to get crooked with time.
That area where the water came out behind the wheelwells is the same area where my sunroof drains.. I had a similar situation with my 2007TC but I knew my sunroof drains were clogged as I was also getting a drip from my overhead light in front of the sunroof. I used a high pressure water hose (purchased at Wal Mart for 14.99) that slid down the drain holes of the sunroof to unclog them and also cleaned out the cowl area which was clogged and blocking the drains on either side there. So far so good.

Congrats on the new car! The BRZ was a collab with Toyota, not BMW. And yeah, the paddle shifters - this is what everyone needs in a 7-seat family hauler.
Congratulations on your new ride! The only thing I don't like about the new cars is that the car manufacturers are going with total touch screen for everything. The climate control I would still prefer physical buttons, knobs, or switches versus being part of the touch screen. Other than that, it looks to be a great quality vehicle with just enough options without going overboard on technology.

I know how you feel. I'm saying goodbye to my 2006 Scion XB. It was a great car, people laughed at the square shape and called it a toaster. I will miss it 💔
Checkbook, you have your lights switch set on because all my lights the two overhead in the front and the side ones in the backseat come on when I open the door. Provides plenty of light inside the car and they can be independently turned on as needed while driving. I had this car loaded from top to bottom on every seat but the driver seat with stuff when I moved. Had to drive 8 1/2 hours. It’s a workhorse. It cruised along sometimes doing 90 on the lonely highway beautifully taking no mind that had a ton of weight in it. I love this car. I got a lot of little things to fix in it. That’s the only thing if I could do it all myself it would be great, but I can’t pull out the dash for the HVAC system! Grrr. You do sound like you hate a lot of that car by the way.

Tell me any other car from 2006/300k mileage that still has completely undamaged leather interior, including the driver seat! And obviously if you have your car on climate control and it’s warm it’s running on low when you get out it’s gonna have to run on night to get back up to that temperature when you get in again. You can also diagnose your air conditioning system, using the buttons, the sad thing is you have to tear out the dash to fix it. I have mental many little things wrong with mine, including air conditioner actuators which don’t really cost that much but the pool the dash is a huge job
I have a 2006 Lincoln town car signature limited 4.6L flex motor. When the seat starts going back if you just tap the forward button lightly, it will stop where it is and stay there. I find it has adequate storage inside. Not only do you have the glove compartment/consoles/bottom of door bin/little compartments on the door/+ giant pockets on the back of each seat. Not to mention the giant trunk, which by the way these were used for limousines mostly or commonly and this is why you need a huge trunk because people have a lot of luggage and why they had air suspension so it would adjust according to the weight in the trunk and the people in the backseat. Apparently not that many people had problem with legroom where they wouldn’t like so much for limousines.
Actually the 4th generation started in 2002. 4th generation has a wider chrome center grill, which when hood is opened the center grill is attached to hood allowing more room when fans or radiators or removed. Plus the 4th generation has the ECM computer box on the drivers side upper area under the hood to where you dont have to fight with it being under the dash. Plus the 4th generation has a more accessible trunk entry area that is wider and has the inner trunk shelf area. 4th generation has improvements and is the better choice
Heres how that can be fixed. I would take off the top hinge, and brace the door with a floor jack temporarily. Then enlarge the bolt holes on the top hinge to go upward more, then remount and have enough of an enlarged bolt hole to maneuver the door to a straight close. The part the hinge bolts to is called the A pillar and I can see it is just fine. It could also be the door upper part in where the metal of door itself bowed outward and may just need to be hammered in. What causes this usually is heavy people that throw their arm over the door top and pull their weight as they stand up is what causes this, which bows/bends out the door metal itself that holds the hidden area you cant see. I have an 05 town car, and when I get out, im always tempted to grab the top of the door to lift myself out, but realize doing this will eventually bend that inner door metal outward and cause that. That so called professional you spoke of isnt any professional at all. I also noticed on minute marker 8:46, that the upper hinge itself has a curve in it, so the hinge needs to be removed and the upper bolt area that bolts to the door itself needs to be hammered out straight. Look at marker 846 and click pause and look at it

Frobt Control arms more solid (more metal, and could replace bushing instead of the control arm) Front suspension shock and spring s And front suspension same setup like 1980s lincoln. Different transmission Driveshaft steel. 2003 onwards New redesigned chassis New suspension Front uses struts, And rear (fords and mercs) shock absorber more outward along the rearend Lousier imo, less metal and thin lower control arm. Look like thin wishbone, Rack and pinion steering New transmission (or update/upgraded version) Electronic throttle body control Hvac ac accumulator closer to radiator Plastic intake manifold with metal sleeve and brace to preventb crack Engine cooling fan and control module integrated in one assembly. Aluminum driveshaft 17 inch wheels option available
I came here to see how to remove the battery in my 06 lincoln.. There's no obvious nut to loosen up. No wood screws in sight!. The battery dates from 2006. Orig battery. Won't hold a charge, car runs fine when started. If it was the alternator, the battery would drain from running lights, heater, wipers, etc.
Sweet car. Looks like the glovebox is apart to replace the cabin air filter or maybe the resistor for the fan, i know my 93 Q45 fan was stuck either in off or max, so i had to swap it. Those really are nice cars, hopefully it has little rust.
Got me a black 2020 Ford Fusion Hybrid Energi (PHEV) yesterday, going to sell the Crown Vic this week or next. Bittersweet. Honestly, I'll miss the Vic but less than one third on the fuel bill, the amount of sound deadening and ride quality being quite decent on the Fusion, I don't have any regrets.
It's previous owner goo not factory. And the drain hole had a rubber flap cover that's missing. I know the car is gone but your videos live on. Thumbs up on this.
