Why did Klarion have them go to the animal shelter if he was going to pick a stray? My theory is that either he was having some chaotic fun with the heroes, or he thought that a cat from the shelter would run out and come to him-or that one of the cats presented would jump out of the arms of one of the heroes and come to him. I kind of like the idea that he was messing with them, honestly. It fits his character. This also reminds me of what they call "The Cat Distribution System." It is true that often, the cat chooses you, not the other way around! Like, "This cat just showed up one day, and now it's moved in. Guess I have a cat now." XD
I've seen the "I miss my wife" bit in so many animations or clips that just the exhale at the start is enough for me to recognise it. It's like "I know that sigh! I know who sighs like that!"
My local anime convention always has 50% Off play, in full, in one of the fan creation rooms one evening, and the feeling of watching this unhinged nonsense in a room with 100+ other people was fucking surreal. Like. Physical representation of how much people still think about this and know their fav quotes and do the little clap clap in the outro. Absolutely wild
