This was what is known as a Papaiti loop. Head up Papaiti Rd which becomes Kauarapaoa Rd, then heads back down Rangitautau West Rd. We did it the harder way. Clockwise seems easier is the general consensus.
@smiles_per_hr6408 for sure. I'm not a fan off the steep pinches between Bushy Park and Junction Rd. Prefer the longer more consistent climbs out of Mayo's and Paparangi.
Audio is too difficult to hear. Not only with traffic noise but with distance to camera low volume. You should make another episode with good audio. Then I would watch.
@@kevincrowley9873 that was at Hawera Holiday park. Yes. Not much accommodation in Hawera, especially if you’re planning to camp, then you need to be further around the coast in either direction.
Could you make more videos about the Land Rover and camping with it. That's what bought me to your channel and why I subscribed. I have little interest in cycling videos.
@@steveknight4090 there will definitely be more landrover videos in the future, just depends on what opportunities arise as to where I go and what I film. Thanks.
A little more details would be awesome mate 👍. Really enjoy your work as you are giving us some more adventures that we didn't know we had to do . Cheers
Perfect! Sorry mate , thats exactly what we are looking for . Gotta re-watch your other vids now lol. Might catch you outdoors one day , keep up the great work 👍
Great to see you on the cycle path which passes my son's house on Papaiti road! The river road is a great ride by whatever means you do it. Living in the UK I don't get to visit very often so your adventures are lovely to see and remind me of how unspoilt much of your region is. 😊
Thanks for the video man, I forgot all about those Waikato river trails I saw them once driving past maybe 8 years ago [before I was MTB mad!] TrailForks doesn't really show much recent info, did you ride them all or have you got any recent intel? I imagine cyclone Gabrielle wrecked them but maybe they've been repaired? It's a reeeeeeeeally long drive down from Whangarei if they aren't rideable 😶
I only rode that section. The Waikato River Trails FB page is always really into it with updates on maintenance and issues. They’re pretty proactive in keeping things open.
Hi can anyone tell me if the top flat part of the dash can come off alone leaving the top and lower dash still fixed as I need access to run some wiring from engine bay through the top grommet on the right hand side when looking at the engine head on. Or is there any other easier route to run cabling inside the cab? Thanks
Not sure about an easier way, but the dash is pretty secure with just the top dash pad removed. From memory even the instrument cluster sits in its own enclosed frame which has more bolts retaining it also.
Cheers. Yes. Few issues with sound on this one. Definitely have plans to invest in a good mic in the future as funds allow. Thanks for Watching and the comments 🙏
Welcome back Paul I was running out of stuff to watch your a breath of fresh air , I’m waiting for it to cool down I’ll be doing the same, it’s a shame there’s bloody snakes here otherwise I would be sleeping under my Darche awning under the stars cheers Murray
Nice Video, Nice Landy & Nice Surly :) - I rode Napier / Taihape last weekend, overnighted at a Motel and rode home the next day - hard ride with around 3K M Elv, but good training! I've got a Bridge Club (Grandma's Lipstick) and a 2013 Black Defender 90. Gonna look in to that Laughing Moa route as an additional add on. Keep up the great work!
How lovely to see you on the Waimarie , one of our favorite things to do when we visit from the UK. Our son now lives overlooking the awa and often waves to the people on the boat as they go by! Keep on exploring the 'road less travelled' and recording it! Good luck! Julia in Cornwall
It’s funny, I watch it almost everyday from work and just happened to have the opportunity to go for a cruise. Was too good of an opportunity to not share this part of the story
Going well Paul I’m in Mt Morgan QLD from Thames originally I miss the NZ bush , as for your coffee I wouldn’t drink that shit lol Macoona for me , keep up the good work love your videos cheers
Totally understand that. Every time I come back home I miss the bush. Would love to explore Oz one day, but it there is so much in NZ I doubt I will ever see everything. Glad you’re enjoying the vids. 🙏
Hi there, your rig looks just great. I wonder if you can tell me which model of dumpers you use for a cat-flap tailgate and how you attach to the body., pls?
