I recently sold mine and was going to upgrade to something like a handwired doctor Z amp. And after my friend played through two of them was so disappointed unfortunately now I really miss my little Studio 10 6L6. I think the main reason I sold it was I was worried about the possibility of it needing to be serviced and being in the United States black star has no one here qualified to service them nor will they allow them access to the schematics so they can fix them. On the other side that was the most reliable amp I've owned in over 15 years absolutely zero issues. Looks like I might have to buy another one my only other issue was it didn't seem like it took certain amp in a box pedals very well but it didn't really need them it sounded great.
Hi pls help me I have Focusrite Scarlett solo audio interface and Nux mg 30 and Daw is Reaper and I always use studio headphones to hear my sound.. whenever i listen from the heaphone out of mg 30 it sounds great but whenever its the headphone coming out from focusrite solo its sohnds lagging even with buffer size 64 samples n full muddy.. i have a practise marshall mg 10 amp at home can you pls help me to get best settings for recording in Reaper ?? I need to use the audio interface also
Hard to tell without seeing your settings. I used it this way: NUX Audio out into Focusrite. Focusrite connected via USB with computer. Focusrite choosen as Audio In and Out at Audio Settings on your computer. Connect headphones at Focusrite and you should hear everything
NICE PLAYING ! i don't think it's anything to do with age, no one like LCD displays and scrolling through loads of menus, anyone that has used a proper amp knows that keeping it simple is best. Unfortunate that this seems to almost require connecting up to a PC, i think it seems that it is aimed at people recording music but could possibly work for live, if the sounds are good enough, i guess i just won't know unless it try it. Have you tried it through a power amp pedal and into a real cab for on stage? that's really what i want at the moment, i'm not ready to give up a CAB on stage.
How are you getting that Snowy White tone even with a Strat? Need to know what basic effects create that sound so i can try a re-create it on my Boss GT-100.....
Hello, nice review I got mine last week. But I am facing terrible noise issue in most of high gain effects 😢. It goes when the Amp is turned off. How to solve it. Here you got very good sound 👍
Take a good Irish Whiskey, sit down in your armchair and enjoy and hear the Voice of Snowy White.. I remember what my father said He said, "Son, life is simple" It's either cherry red or Midnight blue, oh, oh Midnight blue, oh, oh
Please be more specific. Is it maybe whilst using compression into overdrive/distortion or is the noise already there without having your guitar connected yet?
I haven't used it for quite some time now. What I remember is, that most of the factory presets are "way too much". Therefore I always start "blank" with just a clean amp e.g."Super Rvb" and a compressor and OD in front of it.
I wanted to ask you a question about the whammy pedal in the mg-30 When you physically move the pedal in the mg-30, the animation on the pedal in the QuickTone moves and you get the 0-100 parameter as you move it? The red ignition pilot does not turn off either for the Harmonist, nor do the LEDs of the wahmmy pedal move as you advance the pedal, which I have seen happening and the animation moves along with the physical pedal use in some youtube videos of it. I've tried the latest version of the quickTone from the nux website
Mine is different. To enter the calibration screen after highlighting the 'pedal' icon I need to push the 'save' button. Pushing 'edit/exit' does exactly what it says...exits the entire menu. WIN10/latest firmware as of feb2024
Hi am trying to use nux mg 30 as audio interface in Reaper Daw but I cannot record any sounds from vst plugin even though I have armed the tracks, can you please help?
Thanks for ur reply I actually use studio quality headphones as my sound output .. when I connect my headphones jack from the Nux mg 30 it sounds great but when i connect the headphones out from the focusrite scarlett solo it sounds latency n digital trash, will I connect a simple guitar cable from the RETURN section of nux mg 30 to the INST level input of the scarlett solo? Pls help
I’m curious as to how well this unit will work going into my Fender Deluxe Reverb Tonemaster amp; or if it would work better going into my Schertler Unico acoustic guitar amp. Any thoughts? Your videos are very informative; I thank you for your efforts 👍
@@helmutshatner thx anyway; I just thought you might have some insight. I’m really considering purchasing one of these units. Winter NAMM is this week and probably some more advanced things may be released 🤷🏻♂️
Great review Credence Clearwater, AC/DC, Clapton, John Mayer, Dire Straits… all the music I grew up with… and we got to hear “edge of break-up” tone instead of too many reviews which are just overly distorted. The 300 sounds good, but to me, the mg-30 sounded ‘real’ and included the upper frequency spectrum. I think the IR is better in the 30 but both sound good.
Important: If you are attempting to recalibrate the expression following this tutorial, please note that instead of pressing the EDIT/EXIT button once to enter the submenu, you might now need to press the SAVE button instead. This video was recorded using a previous firmware version.
@@helmutshatner Jackson Dinky Pro with JB/59' (very high mids) . When i play on amp i have so better dynamics. On Nux i have to change my playing to get used to it lol . Is there other device so i can boost the signal when i connect nux to pc? Thx in advance !
@@Godspeed961 My general experience (or personal opinion) with the MG300 or 30 is, that both modeler sound way better in clean channels when played with single coil guitars.
