Hey man I noticed how you mentioned on that Snap On Brake Bleeder you said you made a compu check adapter for fuel systems after services. Are you talking about Detroits and how they lose prime? Because I've wondered about making that exact set up you have, would it prime the system and get all the air out, so does it work well for you?
Homemade tools are the best tools, my father and it have an entire drawer of tools we customized and made ourselves, most of the tools have no purpose anymore but cool to look at and remember why it was made
Look into Astro Pneumatic pin less swivel impact sockets. They are priced extremely well. I beat the snot out of them daily for over a year, and have yet to have one break.
I made a two pin spanner wrench from scratch, took a 1/2 an hour and cost $4. About a day later I realized I could have used my motorcycle clutch holder😂
Nice video, thanks for sharing. Nice work on the tools also. In regards to the brake spring prybar, I never seen or thought about how those work. When I did brakes, I would hammer the return spring pins in, hook the return spring to both shoes, pick the top shoe and put it in place while the bottom shoe dangles, then swing the bottom shoe in place, then hook both retaining springs to the top shoe, grab the bottom of each retaining spring with a needle nose vise grip (tight), and just use my hand closest to the spring to push down while holding the end of the handle with my other hand, and pop them in the holes. I really hope I didn't confuse everyone!LOL It was always so easy, I never thought of buying a spring tool, even though I am a recovering Snap-on addict! Stay safe!
I use used diesel oil to quench tools after using a torch to bend them. I like to think all of that extra carbon gives the steel a little bit of case hardening. It seems to help with rust. I mean I don’t leave them out in the rain. But they don’t just rust laying in the tool box. Just a tip, dunk them quick. To avoid setting the surface of the oil on fire. And red hot. Not orange or white hot. Or it’ll be too brittle.
you used to be able to get those matco heads for cheap i dont think you can get them for cheap anymore they raised the price. i think they figured out how people were using it to beat the system lol
@@warrenpomphrey4477 I well never buy a tool from HF. If I buy something that isn’t made here it better be the highest quality that was made with pride.
Good to know. I thought they were pretty unique for an electrical all in one plier with the strippers on the outside of the tip. I’ll have to look into those ones you mentioned
Looks like you got a sweet deal..also looks like you better hang on to your Jamestown , especially if you're still adding to your set up..space fills up quickly..Thanks for showing..✌
I'd love just to have just one of those drawers of tools..any drawer. I remember when at 17 yo in 1981 me+neighbors pulled the engine from my 69 GTO w/only pawn shop, yard sale+Cheap Pep Boys tools along w/tthe back yard tree limb. If we didn't have a particular tool we made do w/what we had!! Good Time in the Sizzling Summer Heat. We didn't know what we was doing but we all learned on the fly!!
